After a moment, it stilled and pinged softly. It quickly lifted into the air and sailed back to Sammy.

Sammy thrust her fist into the air, catching the ball with her other hand. "Yes!" She called. Her daddy would be so proud of her! Well, that was, if he was still... alive. She looked at the pokeball with a big grin on her face. She turned around then, trying to find Sol. "Hello~?" She asked, feeling Squirt climb up onto her shoulder. His chest was puffed out, and he was obviously very happy about this.

Sammy shrugged, chuckling with, "Luck protects the naive and the stupid... Or someone who is both." Squirt jumped down, chest still puffed out, and poked Orion playfully on the arm. Sammy would wait a while before releasing Ongaku... She was afraid he would fly away the moment he was released from the ball.

Solaris's eyes danced with amusement. She allowed herself to relax a bit more- being so tense was not helping her. And anyway, she wouldn't go after another trainer's pokemon. That would be low. "And the confused and desperate, too," she murmured in a tone generally too low to hear. After all, they hadn't caught up with her yet. She raised her voice. "Luck protects, hmm? Are you to protect the Mesprit or is it to protect you?"
Orion poked the squirtle back, knowing that by fighting and capturing such a legendary Squirt had definitely won that challenge. He grinned goofily, revealing his sharp teeth.

Squirt looked at the sharp teeth, a bit envious. He was known as the cute pokemon, and many underestimated him. If only he could play a prank on someone soon...

Sol involuntarily flinched at the punch on the arm. She quickly smoothed it over with a quick grin and quiet laugh. "Perhaps." She didn't need a protector, no, not at all. Not because she was strong as a trainer but simply because when, not if, some teams found out a new trainer already had a legendary, they were bound to come after her. An easy target, they would probably figure. Sammy was more likely to be the one being protected.
Orion noticed Squirt's look and laughed slightly. His species, the passionate fire types they were, were well known for their wildness and being the hardest of the three Kanto starters to handle. Orion's calm personality excluded, of course.

Sammy shook her head a bit at the trainer's response. "Maaaaan, you should come with me to a dance club or something... Y'know, have some FUN." On the word "fun", she made a small dance step that looked.. Well, quite silly. Squirt looked up at his trainer, then over to Sol. He had such a childish trainer, while Orion's trainer was calm, and matched her pokemon's personality almost perfectly. How come his trainer couldn't be more like him?

Squirt simply rolled his eyes, attaching himself to Sammy's leg in order to trip her. Sammy fell, face-first, into the sand. "Umph!... I hate having a mischevious pokemon..." She sighed, looking down at the turtle that was grasping her leg. Somehow, the two would have to find a way to be partners. That was a big Somehow.

Solaris watched amusedly as her new friend fell face-first into the sand. "I can't imagine it would be much fun getting sand in your mouth." She was unable to resist the light-hearted jibe.
Orion snickered into his paw as Sammy promptly went to eye-level with bidoofs and other such things. He flashed Squirt a thumbs up.
Solaris's eyes flicked to him. "Don't even think about it," she warned him in amusement. He grinned innocently back at her.

"I know this will sound stupid, but where is the next town, anyway?" she asked, as she didn't know this region.

Solaris laughed. "Not a stupid question at all, anyone can get confused in a new region. The city is known as Jubilife, probably the most populated city in all of Sinnoh. It's not too far away- we could probably reach it pretty quickly. Perhaps even tonight," she said.
Orion grinned mischievously back, laughing at the squirtle's antics. Definitely amusing, he had to admit.
