"I hope you're not going to say this thing won't help if I'm not confident." he told Kuno as he took the silver ring and slipped it on. He once again performed the spell, causing the same discus of ice to appear, considerably stronger this time. "It's still no go..." he started until the discus started to spin in a center point and several powder blue lights began to gyrtae around it. He cracked a huge grin and held his left hand under the disc, and lifted it in his hand to inspect it closely."It actually worked?!" he more asked himself than stated. He flipped the disc with his other hand, causing it to melt into a ball of water floating in his hand. He took a moment and blew a gentle breath through the ball of water, forming a small white cloud, complete with a darkened underside and cracking thunder and flashing lightning."Hah,ah...it actually works now." he waved his hand through the cloud, dispersing it immediately.

"I'm not a stray... I am perfectly self sufficient." The other in Leif mumbled, conserving energy by using as little of the rumbling purr as possible. It didn't appreciate the stray remark. He wasn't a dog.
In any case, he was taking a liking to the two, despite earlier conflicts. Probably because Gervain seemed a lot more... Tolerable when Shadi was around.

"Of course you're not," Shadi said consolingly, shooting a slightly aggravated look at Gervain. They were supposed to be letting Leif sleep and talking was not part of sleeping, unless the Geomancer was a sleep-talker. "It was just a figure of speech, right Gervain?" The black-haired mage nodded slowly and Shadi smiled. It was a rare feeling - being in control, that was. Gervain wasn't often home during the day and at night.... Shadi didn't want to think about the drunken events of the night.

"Of course it works, I told ya it would, didn't I?" Kuno laughed. Well...seems I've at least made someone happy today.... "What exactly was that spell meant to do?" Kuno asked. "And We can't forget about you..." he added, looking at Shiyaa, "What's your magic?" he asked, smiling warmly.

Shiyaa blinked, " Fire..." He said, making a small fire ball in his hand. He focused on it, making it grow and swirl around his hand before making it dissapear in a small puff of smoke. He smiled a little, " I can't do much for attacks, though. Just manipulate so far."

Leif's throat let out a quiet purr, a grumble that could be either laughter or some kind of displeased grunt. It was hard to tell with the young man's face so slack and peaceful with sleep. Even his eyes darted back and forth with REM. Dreams, peaceful dreams that were fading into a deeper sleep. The other had free reign over other things while the body slept. It could use certain electrical impulses of its own free will, powered by itself.

Kaya Jumped over the back of the coucha and screamed when Shiyaa made his fireball."AHH!" he covered his ears with hands and started shaking his head whispering"No, no, no, no, no, no." he was having a flashback. He was four years old and running away from the agonizing screams of his parents and the smoke billowing out of the alleyway between their apartment and the bakery next door. He carried a picture in his small hands, the corners burned an smoldering. It was his mother and father holding him up to give his half brother a hug."Why fire? Why fire?" he mumbled to himself as he tried to fight the tears that threatened to escape after his memory returned.

Shiyaa blinked at him, taking a step back. He stared quietly at the ground for a moment, then looked up at Kaya through his hair, " Sorry..." He murmured.

Kaya was able to calm himself after a few minutes."I-i-it's n-not your fault. I'm afraid of fire. My parents died in a fire when I was four....so the only person I've got that even halfway cares about me is my half brother. And he doesn't like me. He just looks out for me and helps me if I need him...so our relationship is pretty much for the sake of mom and dad's memory." he wiped his tear stained cheeks dry with a loose bit of fabric from his coat."I'm sorry if i made you feel bad about my, uh....jumpiness. You didn't mean to scare me...did you?" he had managed to try and make a joke, at least it was a start. His heart though wouldn't slow down and he felt like it was trying to jump out of his chest.

He shook his head, " No, I didn't..." He was quiet for a moment, then looked away from the ground, " I won't use it unnecissarily around you, okay?" He smiled, then looked over at his adopted son," So, Kiyo, what do you think?"
Kiyo stared at all of them, his eyes wide, " You guys can really use magic...." He said, seeming shocked. Then he ran over to Shiyaa, hugging the effeminent man's legs, " That's so cool!!"

"Cute...." Kuno said under his breath. "So a pyromancer and an aeromancer?" he asked as the ringing from his backpack increased in volume. This caused him to take his backpack off and pull a small black framed mirror from it. Words were written across the surface of the mirror now, so he read them softly:
"What have we wrought? A miasma of betrayal as memories writhe. Once we tasted innocence, Childlike and untainted, But our thirst paled. A feverish vision of lies - Memories follow night, follow bitterness, Love condemned. In a torrent of sorrow, I still love you.
Slender beams of moonlight enter This darkened prison as I kneel, Always alone, always forlorn, Frozen here, Waiting.
Tortured forms wrought in panes of glass loom as Dust dances in the air, Forming an image in my mind, Sparing not my darkened eyes.
A reflection on a child's face.
I raise my head, now defying This callous reality.
The night falls with a silent sigh, lost am I. The light for which you pine Flares once, then dies, Devoured by madness. All hope must surely perish.
Your soul thrives still. How could you abandon me? Lost souls surround me, crying, I have lost my way.
Around, all around, the angels gather. My dread grows as the stroke of death falls against my naked soul. It smites me, and darkly my Life's blood drips To the thirsty earth. In my madness I call your name While the Reaper takes my hand. Now alone, my essence falls upon dead eyes.
This is all for you...."
The words caused tears to well up in his eyes. He quickly turned towards the door and walked out, not wanting anyone to see him cry.

Levvy Leif's throat let out a quiet purr, a grumble that could be either laughter or some kind of displeased grunt. Shadi watched the sleeping mage for a moment longer before standing up and trotting out of the room. He appeared moments later with a blanket - a fluffy, warm blanket - and draped it over the other's form, careful not to desturb him. He took a few steps away from him and then, seeming to lose strength, he slumpt down next to Gervain, leaning against the older male. "Ger... I have a headache," he complained quietly, pressing his index finger to one of his temples.

Leif smiled with his eyes closed, and his other voice purred a quieter thank you. The other was less restless now that he felt less threatened by Gervain and Brice. It was on the verge of hibernating again, so it had to keep that bit of awareness there, keeping from losing to Leif's warrior mind and becoming lost for another fifteen years or so.
