Marc_Spector Chris_Powell I totally recommend Lady in the Water. I loved it. really? I'll give it a shot then. M. Night's work doesn't always hit me as bodacious, though I actually wrote a couple episodes for an Unbreakable animated series, since the movie itself was so much like a 3 issue mini-series opening arc for the character. So much potential that'll never be used...*Sighs* I wish there was an Unbreakable animated series...

I got Gears of War for Christmas. heart Chainsaw guns heart Pretty good gameplay so far. The whole cover thing is a little bit hard to manuever (sometimes it takes me two or three tries to get out from behind a wall) but other than that, it's great. Any speculation on which Transformer it is on Mars? The head and shoulders look like Devestator so long as we're talking oldschool, but then he would be way too small. ninja

*Watches Transformers trailer.*
"Get out of your vehicle or we will kill you." stare confused
I'm sincerely hoping this doesn't end up being another Sleepy Hallow. Real pretty to look at, but mind numbingly stupid. sweatdrop

Real pretty to look at, but mind numbingly stupid. sweatdrop I liked Sleepy Hollow... redface A lot of people did, and it's alright as a popcorn burner. Looked good. Had a decent fight scene in there. Very good looking decapitations. Ultimately though, I was bored out of my skull halfway through. Came close to walking out. I was expecting a more gothic horror tale in the spirit of the Irving classic. I set my hopes really high and was disappointed. Now, if I was going in just to munch popcorn and enjoy pretty visual imagry, I'd have been delighted.

Well considering I think much of what Tim Burton does is s**t....*waits for the flames*....I was pleasantly surprised. Pretty much that and Batman are all I can stand from him.

Here's the thing with Burton, he has a vision that's unique to him and he doesn't compromise on it. For that I give him credit. I was hoping for more meat from the script, but that wasn't in the cards.
That's why I'm a bit concerned about Transformers. Michael Bay makes some spiffy action movies, and they look good. They deviler the action and I munch my popcorn. Something like Transformers can be really cool and the trailer looks really great...
However, that line of dialogue stuck me. Let's be honest, it's a really stupid line. I loved Transformers growing up. I loved Star Wars as well. The prequels, especially that last one, just made me shudder to be a fan. I don't want a laughably bad script to go with this movie just as a way of keeping the special effects coming.
I'm not asking for Oscar material, just don't make it so stupid that I want to leave the theater.

God, I hated Sleepy Hollow. Didn't take but 3/4 of the movie to realize how flimsy the premesis was....If the Stepmother has faked her OWN DEATH, just how does she plan on collecting her husbands insurance after his daughter is dead?
Pffffffffffffffttt.
