So far I have run into two peopple that I have had a problem with and gotten into a heavy argument. They both used my baby to insult me. The first one I had an encounter with said: AyameKage Oh and I dunno bout everyone else, but I sure as hell don't want to see some stupid picture of your unborn child on your signature. It is really, REALLY sad. Let's just hope it doesn't look like the mother eh? Yeah.. that was pathetic. Then the other girl said Luna Riddle if i'm reading your sig right...you're having a child at 21! how stupid are you?! why would you want to destroy your life this early? so if i'ma fool, then you are as well. We hashed it out really good in the thread this took place in. She later PMed me and appologized for it.

Yeah.
Well no matter how much it bothers people i will show off my baby all i want unless a mod or admin tll me not to. I am PROUD of my little girl! So far she isn't even here and she overcame a huge obstical. She had a 99 percent chance of down syndrome and we found out that she was lucky enough to get that 1% chance of not haveing it.
She's my little blessing and I am proud that God chose me to have her.

gonk WHY would anyone ask the idiots who frequent the discussion forums for advice on food and diet?! This girl is BARELY EATING and they're all telling her to eat less. -bangs head into wall repeatedly- I just don't understand why anyone would ask them for serious advice.

that's bad... I went through a stage like that and my martial arts instructer told me it's better to just start a healthyer diet with well planned out meals and healthy snacks and to cut way down on the sugary and carbonated drinks and to keep a daily excercise routine going.
I did that and it worked great for me.

I was the only person who piped up and said she wasn't eating enough: because she's not. If you don't eat, your body will not burn off your calories but hoard them like there's no tomorrow. ;o; It just made me so mad to see them telling someone who's eating almost nothing to eat less. And I think she's maybe 14? She's just going through puberty and that's no time to worry too much about diet. Everything is changing.

Yeah they sometimes don't get any better when they are your "husband's mother".
I got 9...that's right NINE emails from her sunday. 7 of which were these stupid .wmv files with christmas lights put to music or something. (She FWds EVERYTHING she gets and she wonders why her computer gets INFESTED with spyware and viruses ALL THE TIME).
One of the other ones was for some pro-pot movie called Waiting to Inhale.

rofl Oh god, I could make an entire forum full of issues about mine! At least she's finally getting better...after almost 10 years of knowing each other and we still can't have a decent conversation.
Hehe, dare I ask what prompted this, Nikolita?

Just passing through, but I thought I'd add my 2 cents in as a father-to-be:
Isn't it interesting that 40 years+ ago, children were seen as a blessing, something to be proud of, to raise, teach, train, and carry on your family name after you were dead, and there was so little crime, people had values, and were decent, but lately all you see is "I don't want to deal with YOUR kid when I'M trying to enjoy myself" and "I just don't want to deal with this little brat, what a drag on my social life!" and now we see kids who reflect that "I am worth nothing, so I may as well do whatever I want because I am a drag and a dissappointment anyway" attitude?
To everyone who is annoyed by the 'inconvenience' of children in society, I say this: Suck it up, grow some balls/tits (whichever the case may be) and shut up. You were a "drag" on someone's lifestyle once, you weren't special, get over yourself. This isn't about you or your happiness, it's about not screwing up the people who WILL decide what your nursing home quality of life will be. Someone's gonna wipe your butt when you get old too, and if you're not nice to 'em now, they won't be nice to you later.

I do believe that attitudes towards children have seemed to change in the last 40 years or so and you do see more anti-child sentiment. But that may be due to the media and the internet where you get to see more teenage opinions. Once people get over the age of 20, those attitudes really start to irritate me and I just remind people they were once a child and they should probably just STFU.
As for a more peaceful past? I believe that's more of a romatic idea then anything else. With an ever-more plugged in world, we hear more about what goes on in it and it can seem there are more problems when in truth, we're just hearing about more of them. Like 50 years ago women couldn't report being sexually assaulted and be taken seriously and nothing was done about it, whereas now you can report an assault and have some action taken. It would make it seem like there are more assaults when it's really more are being reported and acted upon.
;] Morals are subjective so I'm not going to touch that one. I'm not a romantic about the past at all, so I have a feeling it wasn't as nice as people like to paint it to be.

. There's a quote who I don't know from that I think illustrates that point well: "Napoleon could travel no faster than Ceaser" Meaning that even though Napoleon was AGES after Ceaser they both pretty much traveled by horse. Whereas now it's far faster.
