I have two trumpets, the first one's from 6th grade and sorta had an accident and the second one I got for $50 bucks at and auction. As for the first one's accident, I twisted too hard to get my mouthpiece unstuck and it broke off the entire part that the mouthpiece connects to up to the tuning slide. It's been 4 years since then and it still has duct tape on it sweatdrop I don't know if you'd consider it a third trumpet, but I do use a school horn.

During sectionals for festival at my school one kid put his trumpet down and the bell entirely caved in. He learned not to get his trumpet from EBay from the band director after that. The band director wanted to keep it for our wall.
When my brother was marching, he plays trumpet too, his first year at band camp is arm entirely locked up. He couldn't pick up his trumpet or move his arms for a few hours.

My trumpet accident story deserves to be shared. Again.
We're moving props out of the storage room one day for Field Show practice. I have my trumpet, so I set it down for a second to move one of the bigger props (a city skyline piece, if I remember correctly). Well, as I was moving the prop, I bumped a stack of chairs. They all fell straight down, directly on to my trumpet. I managed to "get away with" a 1.5" long, .5" deep dent in the bell tube.

Well. I had one...but then it was squashed....because I was stupid and left it outta the case. But I found a new one under my brother's bed....I sorta had two. But like. I couldn't play the first one. oO So technically...I only have one. I threw the other outside. oO

I know someone who would have loved to have the squashed trumpet as his next restoration project.

I have two trumpets (both are my parents, though, so they're not really mine). I played my mom's cornet in 7th and the 1st semester of 8th, then I played my dad's sliver Bach Strad for the rest of the year. Next year, for marching band, I'm going to use my mom's cornet, but I'm going to use the Strad for Jazz Band and Symphonic/Spring Band. So, for the 1st semester or so, I'll have two trumpets that I'll be using, lol.

Well, this is SORT OF on-topic, but mostly I wanted to save the almighty Trumpet Sectional from oblivion on the third page. ninja
So, my mom's moving back to Michigan, and I have to pack up all of my stuff. Well, in the process of packing, I discovered a TREASURE TROVE of pep band music. Wipeout, the Time Warp, all of last year's field show music... it's awesome. Most of it's 1st parts, too, so it doesn't sound TOO weird as a solo. It's given me new motivation to practice. biggrin

I found all my brother's music in the basement and, well, he was second to last to last chair. Even now he is 4th to last chair in the whole high school as a sophmore going into Junior year. The saddest thing is to find it and play it right on the 2nd try when he had had so much trouble on his 20th time. He wasn't too happy. Good songs, but now they make absolutely no sense...
