-]Striker took his time, carefully working his way down the side of the man-made mountain. It was a far more dangerous feeling climb than going up had been. Part of it may have been because he was going down a different side, and part of it might be because the unnatural feel of climbing down something rather than up. When the young Pansear made it to the bottome, he wiped his brow clear of a little sweat and then ran for the fence.[-

XXXX Annie the Anorith & "Violet" the Houndour
Annie's eyes rolled up as he thought, tapping his... 'chin' thoughtfully with the side of one of his single claws. "Hmm... No, not really," he admitted after a moment, lowering the appendage as he looked back up at Brooke, "My teammate has, but I haven't really needed to." The anorith lifted his arms, flexing as if to show off some... apparently non existent muscles. "I was just getting stronger naturally! Actually, I think it was because of something my trainer gave me... but that broke, so I'm not really getting stronger now. Have you been training?" he returned the question, lowing his arms to lightly cross them.
Violet, meanwhile, was finally feeling ready to resume training. She stood up, stretching and shaking herself, looking around with sharp eyes. She narrowed her gaze a moment, then turned and hopped back onto the treadmill, falling heavy and with a few arhythmic steps, before she gained the pacing back and continued training. She would remain in this little training area for a while, she figured. It was grass and open, but there were a few obstacle courses in the near distance, and various equipment, and though she certainly didn't plan to go swimming, there was the bed of water close, and food not far off. Not to mention the wall of rocks, almost like a very small mountain, that she could use for more muscle building, also nearby. Plenty of options to keep from getting monotonous in her training.

Just placing Violet in her training for now, but I can try and have her notice Striker and find a reason to approach, if you need, or he's more than welcome to come over to her. And if needed, I can always search through my other characters' pokemon to see if they have someone more interact-able to send to the Daycare x3
"PJ" the Growlithe
Now PJ was feeling optimistic. Ace seemed so nice! And eager to learn! Had he really just found a contest buddy? That would be soooo cooooool! If... it was actually the case, that was. There was always the chance Ace would lose interest once he saw what contests were really about. A few pokemon were like that... PJ couldn't really understand it, he still thought it was awesome, but he supposed it just wasn't for some pokemon. Most preferred battling, after all.
Tail still wagging happily, he gave a nod, grabbing his bag in his mouth again. "Foresh et ish!" he declared, picking up a prance, then a light bound as he headed in that direction. He slowed as he neared the trees, though, looking around, and then setting the bag down to address Ace again. "Any idea which direction?" he inquired, looking to the charmander for direction. He'd sort of started leading the way... only to realize it probably wasn't the best idea seeing as he didn't fully know where they were going.

-]It was certainly hot in this rocky volcano area of the daycare center, abundantly, comfortably hot. However, Pansear would gladly give that up if he could find someone else to hang out with. It wasn't that he was lonely, exactly...or maybe, it was. Striker thought about that as he made his way across the area to the fence that separated the different zones. The little Pansear had usually been on his own because of the pranks he'd pull on other Pokemon. He'd only had "friends" for about a day. Had one day really changed him all that much? Maybe that lonlieness was just because he had nobody to pull pranks on? The Pansear nodded, deciding that was the only possibility. As he reached the fence, Striker could see what looked like a grassy training area a little ways away. There seemed to be someone using it too, so without a care the monkey jumped the fence and headed for the pokemon he'd seen, hopping up onto a piece of the obstacle course when he got there. For now, he didn't say anything, just watched to get an idea of what the Houndour was doing.

"Violet" the Houndour
Violet was concentrating on her training, her eyes closed, her brow furrowed as she kept pace on the treadmill. She was going at a decent speed, but she didn't have to go full force yet-- just a steady long-legged lope to keep her moving. Something seemed to tip her off, though, and she suddenly lifted her head, opening her dark eyes to stare ahead. She spotted the fire monkey fairly easily, her eyes narrowing in on him. Instead of immediately addressing him, however, she kicked up the speed on her treadmill, running faster, then faster. Finally she hit the stop and leaped off, approaching the other fire type with a dark expression. "What are you looking at?" she growled, coming to a stop and fixing him with a stare, her ears back and her eyes narrowed.

-]Striker continued to watch the Houndour with interest, noticing that it had ignored him for a while to keep running. He was surprised by that, but after watching for a bit, he began to clap in support of the puppy's effort. "I'm not exactly sure," Striker replied, "I've never met a Pokemon of your kind before...But I'm impressed for sure! You're one fast puppy!" The Pansear hadn't meant it as an insult, but that would likely be how it was taken considering the gruff greeting. Striker was lad that he was up on top of something, hopefully out of the Houndour's reach...He likely couldn't outrun her, after all.[-

"Violet" the Houndour
Violet's ear twitched in annoyance. A pokemon of her kind? He probably meant a houndour. She lifted her head in a bit of a sneer. To be fair, she hadn't seen a pokemon of his kind either. What even was he? A fire type, that was obvious, but... She frowned, then twitched her head, gnashing her teeth in annoyance and giving a growl. "I am not a puppy!" she snapped, lowered into an aggressive pose, growling with her ears pinned back. She straightened, though, and rolled her shoulders back to lift her head high and bring herself to her full height. "What even are you? I haven't seen a 'pokemon of your kind' either," she demanded, eying him up. If she was being honest (and she wasn't), she was trying to figure out whether she was stronger than him.

-]Well, that was interesting. This puppy really took offense to what he'd said...well, at least he was out of reach for now. After a moment or two, though, the Houndour seemed to calm down a bit, though rather than angry now she was just snarky. Striker jumped backwards, doing a little flip and landing upside down in a handstand. "I'm an Pansear!" he replied, "What about you, Miss 'Not-a-puppy"?"

"Violet" the Houndour
Violet snorted. A monkey. Pansear just seemed to be a synonym for monkey. She narrowed her eyes a bit, as if studying him enough might tell her the answer to her questions. Like what region he was from. She gave a toss of her head and looked irritably to the side when he asked back at her. Finally, though, she turned her sharp gaze back to him. "I'm a Houndour," she replied coolly, and seemed to puff up a bit, "And soon--" She could tell it would be soon, she knew it would be soon--"I'll evolve into a Hounddoom. What about you? Do you evolve?" She eyed him skeptically, as if trying to imagine what he might evolve into. In fact, that was precisely what she was doing.

-]A monkey, indeed, and that monkey was still standing on it's hands. As the other pokemon spoke, it had started to do pushups while still hand-standing, "Oh, so that's what a Houndour is...I've heard others talk about them, but never saw one for myself until now," Striker replied, his antics stopping at the mention of evolving. "Actually, I don't know if I will or not," he replied, "I guess that's up to my trainer..."

"Violet" the Houndour
Oh yeah. She could take him. She cocked her head to the side, head lifted to peer at him from the corner of her eye. "Hm," was her simple response, at first. She snorted a bit when he commented on evolving, though. She gave a disgusted shake of her head. "What do you mean? Do you need their permission or something?" she asked, annoyed. She had actually meant whether he evolved at all... but this pretty much answered that question and then some. She could only figure maybe he needed something to evolve... but that didn't mean he couldn't go and get it himself.

-]As the Houndour talked, Striker's ;egs swayed from side to side for a moment and then he began to cartwheel along the beam he was on. It wasn't hard to see that the Pansear had very good balance thanks to his monkey-like nature. "Hmm, I don't know," he replied, sounding a little flippant, "I don't think just training will do it...I'm not exactly sure how to evolve. I know that I could, but my parents are kind of goofy looking so...even if I could I dunno if I wanna."

"Violet" the Houndour
Violet's eyes followed the pokemon, a look of stoic disapproval on her face. She grimaced at his reply, 'tsking' off to the side in annoyance and closing her eyes. She opened them, fixing him with an irritated stare, her ears flattening back again. "You don't sound very informed," she observed, "You say evolving depends on your trainer but you don't know why, you say you think you can evolve but you don't know if you will, or even want to? Teh..." She shook her head. "You should at least be more interested. Anyway, if your trainer sent you here to train... You're not doing a very good job of it." She turned her head, eying him from the side. Those cartwheels were nice and all... but the pushups were the only sign of training she'd seen from him so far. Not that she'd exactly been looking prior to their interaction.

-]To be perfectly honest, Striker was really only half paying attention to the Houndour at the moment. She was starting to sound like his parents, lecturing him about something or other...he never really caught hat, because the young pokemon just sort of automatically tuned it out whenever someone used that tone. When it became clear that the other pokemon had finished, the Pansear hopped right down in front of her and held out a hand. "Look, Puppy," he said, "I'm not hear to 'get stronger' or whatever, I'm here to have fun and meet new people...I'm Striker."

"Violet" the Houndour
Violet snorted smoke, but didn't seem to completely respond immediately. "... So you're here to waste time. Good for you, 'Striker'," she sneered, smog beginning to roll out of her mouth, "That's not what I"m here for." She blew a cloud of the noxious cloud at him and turned, dismissing the handshake. Teh, she felt bad for his trainer. Slacking off like that, when he was even in the training area! Psshhh....
It was too bad Annie wasn't there. He would be very good at pointing out how terribly rude she was being.

-]Coming from Striker's point of view, the little guy was doing his best to be absolutely pleasant. He had been friendly, avoided making fun of the Houndour, and even waited to be addressed instead of just butting in while Violet was working out. One thing the little guy could not tolerate, however, was being snubbed. Striker coughed loudly as the smoke assailed him, wafting it away with a free hand. It was good that the Houndour turned so she wouldn't see what the Pansear was about to do. When Striker caught his breath, he aimed himself and lunged, leaping up onto the Houndour's back and grabbing her by the scruff. "Ya, Puppy! On!" he shouted, spurring her with his heels.
