The maze had been dreadful Matt thought finally stumbling out of the darkness and back into some dimly lit room of the spire. He was no closer getting to the top when he had started the maze but he wasn’t surprised. It was a horrible trick, likely created from some demented mind of a horseman to play a dirty trick on those attempting to stop it all. It didn’t matter, he was sure that whatever the case even if he didn’t make it to the top they would be able to stop what was going to happen.
Purge all the horseman.
Matt stepped forward looking for anyway to head up in the spire, walking around the site of glittering water mixed with the sweet fragrance of flowers wafted into the corridors. Walking into the room he was surprised by the glittering scene before him. It was like a Turkish bath, pillars decorated in gold with flowers blossoming all around the edges. It was lavish, clearly a place if he had to pay for he could never afford. All it was missing was women holding pitchers of water and grapes available for eating. Even some wine, yes some wine would be wonderful.
Walking around to the door he noticed the words lingering above the door, staring at them for a while before realizing that they were readable. He was sure that his eyes were merely playing tricks on him.
Drink the bath water.
This was becoming questionable at best he thought has he started to head to a pool. He had the sinking feeling that it would taste like dirty man water.
Dipping his hands in brought up a small puddle in the palms of his hands. It tasted like normal water, nothing soapy or filled with the thought of dirty water. Maybe this would be easy he thought as his he could feel his heat start to beat a little quicker. It continued to grow until overcoming him with the sense of dread, his eyes darting around the room. Getting to his feet he quickly started to walk away but not without looking over his shoulder first.
There was no telling who was watching.

He walked around in a complete circle and began to wonder a little before jumping in surprise from the squeak of his shoes.
What if he drank from the water again? What if it was something like if you drink me and grow smaller that in the same turn if you drink it you might grow bigger.
That was correct wasn’t it?
He couldn’t remember, but he was reassured that the water couldn’t have been poison and it wouldn’t hurt to stop the pounding sounding in his ears. He quickly scooped up some water and drank again.
Nothing except the continuing beating of his heart still pounding away in his chest.

He found it funny, just how not-sleepy he was becoming the more she shrunk. She'd become so small she fit in the crook of his arm, and he couldn't even comprehend how the precious little child in his arms was still Mimsy. She was too young to be his wife, but too important to be anything but his reason for living. He held her in his arm, and let out the saddest, most pathetic sound when she brushed her cheek against his and told him that she loved him. All the madness was gone. No, the madness simply wasn't there yet. The girl in his arms could have been saved from so much, if he had just found her like this, somehow. But he would have been just a baby himself, and not ready to save her. And she wouldn't have grown into the woman he needed so very badly to feel complete. "I love you too, Mimsygirl." He whispered into her hair. And he did, even now, devoid of all the attractions that an adult love brought. His love for her had been purified into something strong, and solid. Something that defined him, and changed him with every moment it existed. In whatever fashion she needed, he was, and would always be, hers. After a long, indulgent few moments of holding her lovingly in his arms and watching her sleep, he gently picked up all the clothing she'd shed in her transformations, and carried her out as slowly, and gently, as he could. "Goodnight, baby." He whispered to the sleeping angel in his arm. "I'll be here, when you wake up."

The next pool was at the end of the corridor; his heart was still attempting to leap out of his chest as he quickly guzzled back the pool of water in the palm of his hands. A funny feeling came over him, like the thoughts of needing a drink, maybe a party started to appear in his head before he jumped at the noise of something clanking on the floor.
A keg party yea, when was the last time he had been to one of those? Maybe after this whole mission he could celebrate and then get up to go to class. No wait, class?

Through the crazed, spinning terrors, Pickworth ignored the fact that the pool had turned into a swarm of sharks and dipped in a hand to drink from a swirl of teeth and blood.
He felt smaller, less clear, more uncertain, and the world was collapsing in on him again, but in spite of the insecurities he could see- felt drawn towards- a way out.

Cramming his hands into his pocket and skittering away from the pool he headed to the next one, this one was more into a side room, maybe it was special, like it would give him super powers or something.
Maybe just give him his degree, so he could skip the rest of school.
Why was he thinking of school?
Getting to his he cupped another drink and swiftly drank it down before sitting on the edge debating if he should sit his feet into the water. Fear and insanity started to mix into his slightly youthful mind as his eyes darted around the room, getting up to his feet he quickly ran to the wall and began to hug it walking slowly around the edge. He was pretty sure that one of the statues had moved, watching him.

There was something, something about the first pool he was sure that it would be different.
Some how different, he thought walking into the room, or the thought was the room.
It looked different.
Didn’t matter, he could fix it if he just drank from the water, this time he didn’t bother even cupping it with hands but instead stuck face in sucking back as much water as he could before pulling out of the water letting it soak his shirt. Laughter, he could feel it bubbling to his lips as the beating grew even louder causing him to skitter back to the wall watching in fear.

Fear, fear, all the other pools were sure to be poisoned! This no no he could only drink from this one.
Where was the wine!?
Forget wine maybe something stronger.
Like the water. He thought as he crawled to the edge of the pool and sipped back some water.
It was like a large bass drum, beating louder and louder and he was sure that at any moment that the figure in the water was sure to leap up and grab him. He was sure.

He crawled, he didn’t bother getting to his feet, no that would be to obvious not to mention there was fear.
Fear of falling, tripping fear of being stabbed in the back by one of the statues, yes yes there was no doubt that something terrible would happen to him if he dared to get to his feet. So he crawled his way to the next pool. Peering over the edge he looked at the water with the look of distrust.
Would he drown? He thought scooping up a little water and sipping it out of the palm of his hand. A warm feeling came over him, it was like being drunk but calmer, warmer.
“I just need… to take…a nap.. yes… no stabbys statues.. no…” His voice drifted away as he laid his head in his arms. A dream started to emerge in his head, statues dancing waving their hands like women beckoning him. Grapes as large as apples as one of the statues wrapped her arms around him. It was purple, with hints of pink before growing a deeper red as he laughed watching one of the statues plunge a knife into his chest.
Yes yes, blood everywhere he was still giggling as bubbles floated around greeting him with large pink elephants that led him off to the most magical land of wafers.

K-Krakens?? She couldn't decide if that was good or bad. Meade, though . . . she totally wanted mead. Alcohol. Draaaaanks. Forget the pee pool, maybe there was a beer pool!
Rushing to a different door than Ignatius, Piper giggled and merrily skipped through what looked like paper flowers sprouting from the otherwise unremarkable floor, coming across a truly blue pool. Now in her experience, alcohol didn't usually run in that color--actually that was, like . . . water--but maybe she found a super special pool! It looked like the sky rather than just plain ol' water anyway.
And yet her heart began to race as she drank. Little Piper stole a look over her shoulder, wondering if she had made up that noise coming from the door.
"U-Um . . . Bren . . . Iggy . . . ?"
Maybe running away was a bad idea.

[ Pool of ??? ]
When he saw Brenley stumble into his swirling vision, Ignatius snickered quietly to himself, clearly not loud enough to alert Brenley that he was alive and not somehow stabbed to death. He didn't seem to be bothered by Brenley suddenly getting so close and squeezing his shirt, but then, he might not have necessarily been bothered by people in his face if he wasn't so loopy, either.
Not realizing that it might spook Brenley further, Ignatius pushed his hand up and booped Brenley on the nose. "Nope! I'm fine!" Then, despite his delirium, he popped up to his feet, carefully avoiding the frightened Brenley on the way. Almost frantic, his eyes darted from left to right before settling on a new pool that reminded him of the color of those weird vampire drinks...
He darted over to the pool of age, dipping his hands into it eagerly and taking a few large sips of the liquid. It was warm. Was this what blood tasted like? He had never tried it--
The change was sudden. He suddenly gained all his height back plus a tiny bit extra. His hair went back to where it was before--up, and out of the way of his face, which filled back out and then some. His muscles solidified more, though they still remained the muscles of someone who was a fast athletic versus a body builder athletic. Most important of all, perhaps, was that his voice had deepened once again, going back to the baritone he was more used to.
Being loopy meant that the maturity that came with the older age didn't necessarily hit him, though ... or maybe he just didn't like being mature.
"Hey, look guys! I'm so sexy, I'm electrifying!"
oh yeah.

[Pool of Fear]
She wished she never come out of the blind maze, that way, she would lie to herself that someone was with her instead of the loneliness that slowly swallowed her up. The room that she arrived was very pleasant and gorgeous, but Shu didn't notice that, she was too sad about the truth - No Mimi or Mimsy, just herself. She wanted to leave, she wanted to go home. The helpless girl squatted down and wrapped herself with both of her shaking arms.
With the awkward voice, Z suggested that.
There was a sealed door, the girl went straight for it and pushed it, it didn't open. She knocked on it, nothing happened. The girl in sadness read the engraving and realized she needed to drink from four of those weird pools or she will die. The idea of death sounded so comfortable that she didn't want to do anything. However Z insisted that he didn't want to die, so the girl dragged herself to take a sip from one of the pools. Alas, her bad lucky didn't go away.
Throb-throb. Throb-throb.
Throb-throb. Throb-throb Throb-throb. Throb-throb
Throb-throb. Throb-throb Throb-throb. Throb-throb Throb-throb. Throb-throb
Shu felt uneasy, like something bad would happen. She felt something wrong with her heart and had to put her hand on it, feeling the quicker and quicker beating. She couldn't stop it and a sensation of fear hit her right on her face all in a sudden. She felt in-secured, didn't want to trust anyone, her body lost control and shook with goosebumps. The poor girl gradually overwhelmed with only one feel - fear. Slowly, shaking and messy thoughts didn't help to suppress the situation. As if in great horror, the girl started to scream, from her throat.
She couldn't hide it, she had to let it out.

[Pool of Fear] [Pool of Insanity]
Z's urging pulled her from the fear for a second and drank her poison.
She heard voices again, it was hard to believe they were not real...
Maybe one of them was the person behind all of this? Maybe there were spies between them? Maybe everything was just another nightmare? The girl couldn't stop thinking all of the possibilities, anything that can make her feel a little bit better. Maybe if she killed herself..... She was scolded. "No, I didn't do it, it was the monster!" Shu was explaining to someone. "They are my sisters! I won't kill them!" She yelled to the invisible person as if she was acting a monologue. Then she suddenly squatted. "No....Please don't hurt me. I won't do it again. It's not me...." There seemed to be someone surrounded the girl, accusing her for something. She stood up with tears dropping from her face, "Why-Why you don't trust me? I didn't do it....I didn't. Why? You are my -" The girl in deep sorrow looked at the person non exist in front of her, fists holding so tightly that the nails dug into her palm. And then, Shu looked like she was under huge pressure and yelled, "Leave me alone! You don't understand me! Go away!" The tiny girl used the strength of her whole body to shout at someone.

It was... a strange place.
Gzifa had followed her war brother and sister into the tower, thinking that it may have been the spire at their home which had somehow undergone some drastic change.
She was greeted with a sight that felt rather foreign for the horsemen of war, though she didn't put it past the other clans to have built something like that.
Drink from the four pools, or risk death? Gzifa scoffed lightly. A horseman of war would stare death straight in the eye. This was nothing.
Taking a sip from the pool, the mare found herself just a little taller and more...mature. Gzifa stared at her chest, and saw that it was still nothing like Shaheen's and pouted.

Flying over to the pool at the other end of the room, the horsewoman bent down to take a sip of the green water and waited.
Nothing seemed to have changed at all.
Hah. These gods sure were foolish to think they could threaten a horsewoman at all.
