[ Room 5 -> 8 ] [ Event - ]

More wandering, more stumbling about. Jake didn't know what he was doing any more, but he did know what he wanted: Out.

Finally something different! She opened her mouth and riddles fell out. That was quite particular. At least it was a change. But had she really moved anywhere was the question...

At this point, Jake wouldn't put it past himself to have gotten completely lost, but at least on the bright side, there was no weird whispering voices.

FINALLY. FINALLY A WAY OUT. FINALLY. She sprinted head long for and rejoiced! She was out, she was out, thank Jack!

Wasn't quite at the top yet, but almost there! She could do it!

Strong, heavy footfalls meant Robert was striding through the corridors at a quickened pace. This felt even worse when he stepped into a corridor that made time slow around him. Now, he was moving too fast in a world that felt too slow. He just knew he was going to run right past Mimsy, at this rate.

Quote:
EVENT 2: Time slows down for everything except for you. This lasts for the rest of the corridor of time. While you can understand what people are saying, it is also very slow. You can move at 2x the speed of everyone else, meaning you only have to wait a 5 OOC minute cooldown instead of 15. You can also attack 2x in a row where applicable.

Jake was sure he was making progress. Surely. Maybe. Probably.

Slowly, but surely. Slowly, but surely.
Of course, it'd help if he KNEW where he was going.

[ room 9 -> 11 ]

Groping her way along the walls, America abruptly dropped. Thankfully the fall was brief, barely enough to bruise though the pain was oddly magnified with her sight gone. Carefully she felt for a doorway out. Maybe if she got lost enough, she'd find Taym and for the first time the thought of his company made her tense unhappily.

She tried to shake off the remembrance of her fear and that terrible voice twisted all sorts of wrong. It hadn't been him, not really. She wasn't a terrified child any more than he was some lurking boogeyman, playing mad, vicious games. The water had done things. He'd be normal the next time she saw him, and everything would be okay.

"Saw" him. Hopefully her ******** sight would be back by then.

[ Room 16 -> 19 ] [ Event 5 ]

Jake kept pressing on, but the more he progressed, the more he began to wonder if he really WAS making any progress. What if... this was just all a trap? What if there WAS no exit? What if... what if...

He paused, hesitant about pressing on.
Sherry had left him, and he was all alone. No one to help him. All... alone...

< Jake, get a grip of yourself!>

Nora had taken a small breather after her unfortunate pool sipping adventures. A lot of energy had been expended with her trying to catch her breath and remember what's what. Definitely not 21. Definitely not half asleep anymore. But the nightmares persisted.

She wasn't sure she welcomed the darkness in this corridor or not. Nora wished for a flashlight as she touched the wall and moved forward. Beatrix hummed softly to remind her of her presence, trying to sniff out what laid ahead.

Faster and faster the world zoomed past him, as Robert walked through the corridors. He wasn't even running, he was just walking - but he could see that he was passing way too many rooms too quickly. Every time he passed a door, it was slowly trying to close behind him, and he never got to see it complete. He just kept walking, too fast for the rooms to keep up.

She tripped over the threshold of the next room, banging her knee obnoxiously. Being blind was kind of a b***h to deal with when navigating a strange areas full of floating rooms that switched around at random. Who would have thought?

And it was a good thing too because without warning even what little she saw was gone. Nora froze and waved a hand right in front of her face. Summoned her weapon. Nothing. Damn it.

Maybe it's temporary,
Beatrix soothed her. It would be alright, hearing and smelling were better senses anyway. But Nora was off balance like this and became just a little more irritable. Hopefully nothing lurked within...

[ 16 -> 21 -> END ]

Her stumbling shuffling arms out and seeking progress continued to another room, and then suddenly there was a distinct difference. The ground under her feet felt more solid, so much more secure than before and America let out a huff of relief. Rubbing a hand over her eyes, she opened them once more and to her very great relief, vision was hers once more.

The idea of going back to Deus blind was....

Of all her senses, America cherished sight the least. Her vision was perfect and always had been and every other sense was so much more interesting. Sight was so passive and took so little effort. If she wanted to look at something or someone she could, easy as anything. And while there was often definite appreciation in what she saw, how could that ever hold a candle to hearing landscapes made entirely of sound? To tracing out life under her fingertips? To tasting every bit of the world, how could anything be as intimate as taste?

But to be without it would be a disaster, because she loved her other senses more, but America realized that sight kept her safer than any of the other could, and the loss of it made her terribly, terribly vulnerable. Just the thought of her and Lawrence's positions months ago, one blind the other taunting and wallowing in the advantage set her teeth on edge.

Thank god he wasn't here, thank god Taym was...no. That wasn't right. That hadn't been...she had to erase that from her mind. She had to find him and replace that last impression with something right and true.
