It was not Mimsy or Robert who found her, but the prince. She gently touched his hands to confirm it wasn't her illusion. She was so good used to endure because she knew no one was gonna save her, but why he was always there when she needed someone. The cloak on her shoulder was warm, but not warmer than his embrace. It was so warm that it triggered her tears, one, two, and more dropped on his arms.

She didn't looked at him because she couldn't hold her tears. "I am glad that you are safe, prince -" When she was about to thank you him, she heard him hissing. "Are you okay? What's wrong? Please tell me" She grabbed onto him, feeling his muscles became stiffer, something went wrong and she was worried.

Keeping weapon tablet

He had been on top. All the way on top, and was sure that, compared to everyone else, he was safe. Above, he was even able to see Mark, and hoped the man had some semblance of a plan. Everyone was going to get swallowed unless he could get some rope or cage or some sort of way to plug up the pit monster and get everyone back up. Even a rope at the very least, but he didn't see much aside from hands.

Many hands.

Hands he remembered when he went to the Sahara before, when he was dragged down. When everything when black. When he woke up throwing up bugs that had controlled him. When the hands latched onto his pants, his eyes went wide and he fired his gun at the ground, kicking up sand in hopes he could free himself and run. He fired and continued to fire, but more and more hands grabbed onto his legs like clinging children before he was forced through the sand, sliding down till he felt the sand press against all sides, till his hands reached up to claw - and everything went black.

It was the smell again that woke him, much more than it had when he first exited the portal to the desert. Instead of the blinding light of the sun, the whipping winds that brushed sand against your skin till it was raw, and the excessive heat – here it was humidity, a sticky clinging of moisture. There was no wind, but a heavy thickness that wasn’t helped by the smell. It was moist, wet even, and alive.

Wake up, Mel. We’re in trouble. This is bad.

He turned, and found that his body was wet with some sort of liquid. Opening his eyes, he felt things move around him and immediately jumped up, stumbling and tripping over something under his feet before falling with a splash back into the dank waters. No. Not water. It was thicker. Stickier. Fouler.

His heart was hammering in his chest as he got back up to his feet and started backing up in hopes of getting away from what was around him. Dark confined spaces were a hug trigger, but so were a lot of things. Being disgusting and covered in some sort of bile was another. Being trapped went in the pot too.

Melvin. I need you to focus. Just stay with me okay. Talk to me.

“Where are we? Where am I? What is?” He felt something nudge against his leg, this time more solid, and he looked down but was unable to see much. He reached down and lifted up something, and he ran his fingers through it. He felt etched stone, wet, and then something coarse. He pulled his hand back to his face and spread his fingers to realize it was hair, and shook his hand wildly to get it off.

Death. There was dead things here. He was standing where there were dead hunters. He held the table as he looked around and could hear other people.

He could see shapes around him floating on the surface and didn’t need to see details to know they were’t more tablets. Something brushed against his ankle and he stumbled to the side again, his breath coming in quick, short gasps.

Then he heard the noise. It was a noise he knew. A noise that was forever imprinted on his mind. He had been in a dark black before when he heard that noise. The noise of a thousand of them – when he was very small.

Back when he met that woman from Halloween.

Melvin, I need y-

“They’re in here. They’re in here. They’re here. I can hear them.” He said, rocking with the tablet to his chest as he looked around, and then he felt them brush against him.

They were coming for him, and he snapped instantly into a panicked screaming, bringing out his weapon to try and fire at anything and everything that moved.

Everyone
Melvin is shooting his gun all over the place and screaming. Have fun with that.

Gale HP: 55 / 60

"I'm not being pulled down anywhere that I don't want to be," said Gale flatly. He refused to back down, refused to give into her demands that he did not truly exist, or that he was not supposed to be here in the first place. Instead he merely stood beside her and glared down in her direction, Gale's mouth pressed together in a thin line.

"I'm not going anywhere," he said again, resolution thick in his voice. "So whatever you're doing, you can either choose to accept that I'm still going to be here, or you can pretend I don't exist. Either way, it doesn't matter, because regardless, I'm right here with you, even if you choose not to believe me."

Jinhai made a soft sound in his head, an unasked question, but before Gale could respond to it, there was a series of bangs and a shriek; Melvin was a short distance away, his weapon held out, firing at anything and everything that was in shooting distance.

"Hey!" Gale shouted angrily, and reached out, grabbing ahold of Melvin's shoulder and giving it a firm shake. "Cut that out, you're gonna hit someone!"

"Oh thank god." Kylee whispered as she heard Nora call back. Holding the weapon tablet to her chest, she stepped forward carefully, using her spear as a makeshift walking stick. Seeing the light emanating from Cami's hands calmed her somewhat, and the girl took in a few deep breaths to steady herself.

"I'm fine." She managed. Not dead, at the very least. "I found something though? Looks like... a weapon tablet. Not exactly sure what it's doing here..." As she drew closer, Kylee noted the terrified look upon Cami's face and rested a hand on her shoulder comfortingly. Honestly? She had no idea what to say, no words of wisdom. All she could do was to assure the other girl that at the very least, she had company.

Suddenly, it was no longer a struggle to keep from sliding into the pit as the sand stopped moving around them--and not a moment too soon. Evan's arms and shoulders burned from trying to hold onto his weapon against the current. It was an unexpected and welcome relief to relax and flop onto the sand, panting and too tired to even brush it off of him. He could feel the sharp ache in his muscles slowly begin to subside during their brief moment of respite.

It turned out to be too brief, as Mark showed up and what had been merely bad suddenly turned to worse. Evan flailed ineffectually as he was dragged under the sand and into something wet and pitch black. He landed hard on his hands and knees, and rather than washing the sand away, whatever he had fallen into made it stick to him like a gritty second skin. It was gross, but there were worse things--like the things crawling over him, underneath him, like the terrified screams that echoed off the walls and the horrible smell.

Focus. Deep breath. Keep moving. None of Evan's previous training had prepared him for the kind of s**t he had deal with since joining Deus, but it was easy to adapt and build on it. He could still compartmentalize, still identify the problem and work to solve it. So: it sounded like all of them were there now, wherever there was, they couldn't see anything--though the bright flare of runes was helpful in at least identifying where people were--and they were obviously not alone. There didn't seem to be anything they could do about the darkness, but there were enough of them that if they all worked together, maybe they'd get out of this alive.

Or they'd all get eaten. That seemed equally likely, because Deus.

It was disorienting to rise without being able to see which way was up, but Evan finally got to his feet. Not quickly enough, it seemed, as he picked up a hitchhiker. It squirmed halfway into his boot in the narrow space between his pants and the tongue. Evan cursed and tried to shake it off. The creature stung him before slithering away, and the sharp jolt of pain was less worrisome than the lack of feeling that came after it. He used his weapon as a crutch, ignoring the whines of protest, as he allowed himself a moment to shake it off.

He could pick out individual voices in the pauses between shouts: Nora's no-nonsense brand of commentary, someone arguing with Stormy about something, and, he was surprised to hear, Peyton, calling out to him. He recognized he sound of her scream--he knew it well--and hobbled a step in its general direction. "I'm here," he called back. "Status?"

In the brief illumination of the flashlight that Cami held, he was briefly blinded, it was a startlingly bright moment where he threw a hand up in front of his eyes, not that it stopped him from catching half blinded glimpses of the horror show they all stood in. The blood and the things that lingered in the dark must now compound the screams of those poor souls who were afraid of the dark.

He wrapped Cami in his arms as soon as they reached each other. “it’s ok… it’s ok.” He murmured. “it’s ok, I’m here…”

“I found some bandages in this stuff too maybe you can help me with them, I think maybe I need to patch up where I hit that tooth, I’m going to see if I can kick up anything else okay Harl? Don’t let go of my hand.”

Unfortunately, all this search turned up was one of those things running up his leg and biting him. Rotten little s**t managed to get all the way to the top of his boot, and scurried down the inside of it fast enough to bite his foot!

"OW!! Deadpool in a DRESS damned little…" He stomped hard on his own foot trying to make sure the thing was dead, not like he could feel his foot right then anyhow.

HP: 25/40
Inventory: 1x Runic Flashlight, 1x Runic Bandages

Even as Nora came over, making it so that the Sun trainee was no longer alone, Cami couldn't stop whimpering with every breath. They were sharp, high-pitched noises that made her seem more like a bird than a human, more like a child than the 22 year old woman she actually was. Standing there with the flashlight it was like she was made of stone, or paralyzed similar to the way that several others around the room had been. Peyton had been heard but not yet seen. Where was she?

A light shriek came from the magenta-haired woman when Kylee put her hand on her shoulder but since it was very clearly human and very clearly alive, it killed some of the fear. Jasper compounded onto that by rushing over to give her a large hug before taking her hand in a tight grip, making gratitude rush in like a waterfall. Finding a light had been more a blessing than a curse, it seemed. By standing here like a beacon she was pulling people over so that they could use her light to look at other things around the...stomach? they were in. It also meant she was not in the dark.

At least, not fully in the dark. And never alone.

Breathing evened out slowly as she gave a grateful smile back at Kylee then let out a small bubble of hysterical laughter at the curse. "Deadpool in a dress? That's new." Her hand squeezed his. "Glad you're ok though, Batsy. I worried how you'd do up there without me." Actually she'd been hoping they could all get away. Go for help. But then she remembered they were the help and she needed to again squeeze the hand in hers.

"Anyone have any idea how we're supposed to...get out of here?" Asking the obvious, sure, why not? It wasn't like they had all that much to lose at the moment anyway. Even as she looked about the room, moving her light to expose more of the horror surrounding them, she spotted something on the ground. More bandages were added to the shared stockpile.

jack hp: 40/50

"God s**t ******** damn it--" heralded Jack's arrival into the pit. He managed not to fall into the pool of blood and God only knew what else, but that wasn't saying much at all given where they were. He felt claustrophobic and pulled his coat tighter to his body, seething and anxious and glad nobody was pointing a light at him. He did, however, spot what others' runic flashlights were catching.

He was glad he hadn't eaten.

Jack tied his scarf around his mouth to the point of nearly suffocating himself, forcing himself to take deep breaths through his mouth only. Breathe. He couldn't be losing his cool now just because the place was disgusting as hell.

He could hear his group from before and attempted to discern where their locations were. Noemi seemed to have found one of the lights at least, but as he made his way over something crawled into his shoe and pierced through his shield, making him stumble as he lost all feeling therein. Jack hissed, clutching himself tighter as he caught himself. "Dragons do the ******** virgin sac thing, Finn, Jesus, not worms."

Somewhere near them he could hear Stormy snapping at the midget and decided, well, maybe it wasn't all that bad after all.

"Then I've failed you," she said, dropping into a whisper, staring straight through his glare like he really was a ghost that would never stop haunting her. "I've failed you if this is where you want to be." The satisfaction of not having to die alone down here was gone. She had to keep fighting simply because Gale did exist, and God help her but she grew a little resentful of it, even though it gave her a purpose and that was all it took to get her going.

It didn't make her mind any less confused as to the when and where of her situation, though. Memories were still bleeding together.

Their conversation was cut short by a barrage of fire, loud enough to trigger her. Immediately Stormy made a series of incoherent, sob-like sounds and forced herself up on her one good foot, backing away while Gale confronted it. "Stopit, stopit, stopit," she mumbled quickly, the box of bandages practically making an imprint in her chest with how hard she was clutching it, her breaths growing shaky. "Stopitstopit it's too loud--" And the bugs were crawling and eating her alive still, even if she couldn't feel it any more.

They converted to a gasp as something thunked her head from behind, causing her to whip around and instinctively summon her weapon. It was . . . It was something. A rope. Something like it. Pocketing the bandages in her Mist pack at her belt, Stormy yanked it down, ignoring how moist it felt, and began looping it around her body for later. One never knew.

“It is NOT new it’s totally cannon for him to show up in Drag!” He said in his most serious tone. “Deadpool is –amazing- for all the best reasons too, Though I do admit since we seem to be in the guts of some star wars monster I feel we should perhaps be looking for Bobba Fett or some storm troupers.
He laced his fingers through hers to give them both comfort, though he’d maybe never admit he needed it too at this particular moment, or how much he was really hurting.
He did another search as the feeling slowly crept back into his foot, and hoped that it wasn’t some kind of ‘come and go’ poison that was going to leave him frothing at the mouth or worse later on.

He found a metal cylinder that he realized after a moment, was a flashlight much like Cami had turned on. He however, opted NOT to use it.

Gale came just in time before any real damage could be done, and despite the man being a lot shorter, Melvin looked down at him with the same sort of lost attention he would give a giant. Gale was here. He was saying to stop.

"They're here. They're going to get us." He whined to him, visibly shaking (or as visibly in the dark would allow). His gun shook in his hand while he held the tablet to his chest with the other.

He continued to feel the bugs around him and hear them above. How long did he even have?

He felt something solid again against his leg and he looked down, hoping it was a key or something to let him out of here. It was smaller than a tablet, and looking down, he picked it up to hold the tin of bandages in his hand with the now dripping tablet. "They all died here. We're going to die here."

Getting kind of tired holding you up all the time you know. Gothsmog grumbled. She wasn't a walking stick, she was a weapon. A bad a** weapon that was to be used for fighting. Not to hold up her big ol jerk Hunter.

"Would you rather I fall on my a** and slosh around in this squick?" Zascha was worried now about his foot. The numbness was beginning to creep up his leg as he tightened his grip on Gothsmog. Taking a step, her blunt end clicked against something. Carefully he lowered himself to the ground and found another tablet. "Is someone just throwing these things away or something?" He felt kind of bad for the weapons, if they had any spirit in them at all, that they had just been tossed aside like that. So he pocketed the second one away as well.

Why are you picking them up? You already have me.

"Would you want to be left here to waste away? No? Then hush." His tone was firm but reassuring. He'd never replace Gothsmog, no matter how much of a b***h she was to him sometimes.

While conversing with his weapon, he had lost track of the conversation those around him were having. The runes upon Gothsmog's blade did nothing to pierce the darkness and that was irritating. And the runic torches didn't last very long to get a really good look at anything around.

"Well, if this thing has a stomach perhaps it has a....not so pleasant exit." He posed the thought, leaving it out there to hang in the air of conversation. It wasn't his first choice of an exit, but it would be an exit none the less.

nora hp: 25/40
inventory: x1 runic bandages, x1 weapon tablet

"Aren't you a screamer," Nora grumbled as Cami announced her presence some more, drawing Kylee over; Beatrix, meanwhile, giggled in spite of the very very horrible no good situation because phrasing.

Picking herself off the ground, she found another tablet as someone mentioned it. The implication being that these were more remnants of the fallen, Nora decided not to answer the question about them. "Yeah, looks like we've got some stones and bandages. Slap the latter on if you start limping. I've got one too if we're running low." Sure, people didn't actually need instructions on how to use bandages of all things, but if it wasn't clear yet, it was that when things got stressful, Nora liked to gab. That, and they had no idea what would happen next; being in the thing's stomach alone was enough to wear down on their shields.

She really wished her foot would stop being numb. Then again, squashing the bug that did it to her probably didn't make the inside of her greaves feel too nice either.

A little baffled at the mention of something called "Deadpool" (probably more comic things, what on earth?), Nora shrugged and went on. "Not so pleasant exit aside, we could try cutting our way out," she suggested "to the group. "All of us concentrate on one area long enough, we're bound to make some progress, no? I'm most certainly not waiting to get digested. Sound like a plan?"

Was someone shooting something?

Did he just hear the word Deadpool? There seemed to be some nerdy conversation going on somewhere near him or something but he couldn't really focus on that right now, there were a few other things that took priority right now.

Like getting his footing back. If it wasn't one thing, it was another apparently and the first step he took after regaining complete mobility after - urg - those tiny little legs crawling all over him, he stumbled into something pretty hard. At least it would prove useful, after he groped around for the object that is. A tin of sorts, he held onto it tightly for now.

"Noemi-chan?" Milo called out for the red head again. She had sounded just a bit more distressed and had dissolved into Spanish, "you know I don' understand all those words, ya?" The first bit had been a little obvious, it had been a repeat of the English she yelled out. But with the long string of words, it allowed him to get a clearer indication of her location so he made his way over. Through all the goop and the mess and what he probably didn't want to see exactly with a flashlight - thank goodness he didn't have one.

Gale HP: 55 / 60
Inventory: x1 weapons tablet

"You haven't failed me," said Gale succinctly. His grip on Jinhai tightened a little, fingers wrapped around the hilt of the rifle. "Being with you is where I want to be, and since I'm already here, the subject is pretty much done. Accept that I'm here, accept that I'm staying with you, and let me be here to help my girlfriend."

He wasn't sure whether being forceful about it would make a difference (probably not), but it was better than nothing. And Melvin's barrage of fire did not exactly help the situation, Gale glowering at the older man, Stormy's whimpers and gasps still echoing in his ears.

"Look," he said, and squeezed Melvin's shoulder. "Look. We're all scared down here, but don't just start firing when we've got no clue what that could do to anyone. We're not going to die down here," he added forcefully, even though he wasn't entirely truthful of the statement. "Not if any of us can help it."

Being in there gave his skin a nasty, crawling sensation as though thousands of insects were on his skin. Gale shuddered and gave Melvin what he hoped was a reassuring nod; he didn't know the other hunter very well (except from that very awkward first meeting with the whole flower thing), but he at least seemed put together.

Most of the time.

Gale glanced down at Stormy. "Find anything useful?" he asked her simply, wanting to keep her occupied.
