Yuan Ka-Fai, Kratos Aurion, and Azura Cantarella
The Guardian of the World Tree, The Traitor to Heaven, and the Azure Shadow
═════════════════════════════════════
Location: The World Tree | Company: A strange-looking Elf (Rhone) and a Summon Spirit named Seishin.

Seishin's change didn't go entirely unnoticed by Yuan and Kratos, who had keen senses to mana due to the state of being their Cruxis Crystals granted them. But they didn't pay it much mind, for it was common knowledge to them that Summon Spirits could shift their forms to whatever they wished. Even if he was of another world, his energy was still rooted in mana, so why not apply the same assumption?

As for this new figure that joined them, however... "... ... ..." Yuan remained silent, unable to help but give a stink-eyed expression, befuddled at the sheer dumb luck that resulted from Rhone's actions. With the seemingly random nature of these otherworldly tears, what were the odds of one of them spitting someone willing to fight alongside them? Was it really an ally that was summoned forth? His arms dropped to his sides, going limp as he was unable to form a better response. Though he hadn't de-materialized his swallow blade just yet.

Kratos observed with a subtle look of curiosity, while Azura chuckled and then dared to step closer to this armored figure, lightly sniffing as she slowly circled him in examination. "...Your scent does not entirely match your appearance at all. I do not smell metal or fabric or even flesh. That smell is unique, one I attribute to..." She stopped in front of him and raised a hand to rest it upon the yellow face of the sun symbol on his tunic. As she expected, it didn't feel like cloth at all either. Rather, it felt like gelatinous material without the wetness, just like a certain component she once synthesized through alchemy. "...ectoplasmic matter. Are you a phantom of some sort, sir?"

"Where have you come from?" Kratos finally spoke up. There was no demand in his questioning tone, only calm.

Sophie Lhant
Child of Fodra

══════════════════════════
Location: Palmacosta | Company: Natalia, Arlin, Arianna, and Hōpu
Companions: Psy

Sophie waited patiently while Natalia and Arlin looked over the map to find their destination. So busied herself with watching Psy sniffing the sea air, though he seemed oblivious to this. It was cute how he was looking up at the two adults seriously, yet his nose was twitching a bit. It was enough to make her giggle, which caught Psy's attention. His ears twitched and he looked up at the pigtailed humanoid in a bit of confusion. When Natalia spoke, Sophie looked up at her. A town called Izoold? That sounded kind of interesting. Arianna didn't argue against it, so Sophie had no problem with going there. "I wonder if there are any ships at port to take us there...."

Emil was relieved to hear that Aeris was alright. He looked at Sesshōmaru, more cautious than shocked. He didn't seem like the kind of guy you wanted to anger. "Well....Let's get those rooms then. I think we've delayed that long enough." Emil went up to the counter and bought a couple of rooms for Aeris and Seras. Looking back at Sesshōmaru and Rin, Emil decided to rent a room for them, too. It didn't look like they knew where they were. Were they in the same situation as the two women? "Being awfully generous today." "I couldn't live with myself if I left a little girl to sleep outside."

Hiccup and Toothless
══════════════════════════
Location: Heading for Sybak | Company: Yohan

Straight ahead to the Meltokio continent. Hiccup was assuming that was where Sybak was located, or they had to cross it to get to their destination. "So, why aren't you friendly with the authorities in this, uh...Meltokio place?" It was probably because Yohan was a pirate, but still. The Viking was trying to make conversation. He'd never met a pirate before.

Yvonne looked at Hiccup. So, he was curious. Smiling, the pirate wrapped her arms around the other's waist. "Worried I'm going to cheat you? Don't worry, dragon tamer. As far as I'm concerned, not only do you have nothing on you to steal, you and your scaly friend are my crew now. I'm loyal to my crew." She laughed a little before sighing. "I'm a fugitive. I escaped prison awhile ago. See, my parents' ship was seized by the Tethe'allan soldiers. After my parents were executed, I was locked away with the rest of my crew....I got out, so I can reclaim my ship and free the others." She needed a lot of gald, however, and even then. She couldn't pay their fines in person. Not looking like she did now anyway.

Crow
The Pirate Bot
══════════════════════════
Location: Near Gaorrachia Forest | Company: Richard, a fox, and Zelos

A toy? That wasn't a very believable lie, but what could he do? The fox was a bit annoying, but Crow liked animals. He didn't want it to be dissected by scientists. Plus, he wasn't fond of scientists. Anything to avoid them. Sort of ignoring the fox's yaps, Crow turned his attention to everything around him. There was a vast open on one side and a wide forest on the other. Behind him was that weird temple place, which he actually had to thank for him being here. If the oddly-placed lightning hadn't struck him, he'd still be a robotic husk. If only he could let Seto know he was alright. He hoped the crybaby wasn't making waterfalls and rivers. Looking back at the three, Crow looked down at the still yapping fox and sighed. "Why don't you use that squeaky little voice of yours instead of barking our ears off?"

Sesshōmaru crossed his arms. "I don't need healing. I'll be fine on my own." These people obviously weren't so familiar with demons. Though, they clearly hadn'r reacted to his eyes when they changed. They recovered well on their own, even if it wasn't as fast as he'd like for him. Besides, it was just a headache and a few bites from a couple of wolves. It wasn't something to worry about.

Where I Am World Tree Grotto | Who I Am With Kratos, Yuan, Azura, Rhone, and a sun-worshipping stranger | How I Feel Unsure
I Am Tethered To No one

Seishin wasn't sure what to think of what was going on. The stranger was clearly very devoted to the sun, which was on all accounts odd to him. Yet, maybe the sun was a diety where he was from. Laying down next to Kratos now, the hybrid watched the man curiously. He didn't bother changing back into the human form he had acquired, being much more used to and comfortable in his current body. What a very odd man. Lady Maxwell would like him if she were here. Seishin listened to Azura as she spoke and examined the new stranger. He was a ghost of some kind then? That was actually interesting to him. When Kratos spoke, he looked at him. Well, as much as Seishin was curious, he didn't think it really mattered at this point.

Azura Cantarella
Seishin's form right now is about nine feet, so his head would be maybe a foot taller than Kratos while laying down.

Mamizou Futatsuiwa
The Uncaught Tanuki Disguiser
~
Current Form: Human

Location: Sybak - Library
Company: Tear Grants, Cross Malaki, Elize Lutus, a white haired lady, and a brown haired man

Mamizou began to view the spines of the books in the library, reading their titles and getting and idea of what they were about. This world certainly was fascinating. There were book about mana, which was a term Mamizou was not too familiar with. It seemed like an interesting enough topic to learn about while given the chance to. As Mamizou reached for a book on mana she heard the sound of someone placing something on a hard surface. Turning around, Mamizou saw a white haired woman. Mamizou eyed her appearance but said nothing. Her business was her own for the moment. "What an interesting attire she has..." Mamizou thought as she turned back towards the bookshelf.

Reaching for the book once more, Mamizou stopped again when she heard a man's voice. She turned to the direction the voice had come from and saw a brown haired man speaking to Elize, referring to her in ways a close friend would. Mamizou walked over to the two.
""Ahh, are you, by chance, a friend of Elize here?" Mamizou asked the man, eyeing his appearance as she had done with the white haired woman's. "Which would probably mean you're not from around here, huh?" Mamizou gave the man a look that seemed kind yet serious. She then placed her hand on her chest and gave a small bow. "My name is Mamizou Futatsuiwa, a pleasure to meet you." Mamizou told the man. Might as well get the introductions out of the way, was her train of thought at the moment.

Hata no Kokoro
The Expressive Poker Face
~
Current Mask: Fox Mask - Determination, seriousness

Location: Open Field ---& Asgard
Company: Daermod, Chani, a blue-haired man, and people

People were evacuating the town of Asgard in a hurry. There seemed to be monsters causing a panic in the town. Actually, the entire feeling of the town was rather dull and dying. Kokoro loooked at the faces of the people leaving the town, changing to her monkey mask, she asked, to no one in particular, "Is this the face of panic?" Kokoro switched her mask back to her young lady mask as Daermod ordered Chani to remain outside the city-limits. He told her to protect the people as they were leaving. Kokoro raised her hand, her mask changing to her fuku no kami mask (happiness). "I will help as well." The tsukumogami cheered. She watched Daermod run off into the town to help before readying herself for fighting. She changed her mask to her fox mask (seriousness).

Chani had cast an ice spell on the monsters, so Kokoro started protecting the people as well. Kokoro summoned her three masks to her side (the young lady, hyottoko, and the hannya masks), and they began to orbit around her.
"Sighing Osakabe Mask." Kokoro chanted, her skirt changing color to blue (melancholy). Four masks, similar in appearance to the young lady mask, appeared around Kokoro and flew at the attacking monsters. "Is this not a normal occurrence here?" Kokoro asked Chani. Fighting was common in Gensokyo, but Kokoro didn't know if monster infestations or such was common here.

Rhone Craft and Solaire of Astora
══════════════════════════
Location: The World Tree | Company: Pissed-off blue-haired guy...and friends. Plus a summon spirit...thing (Yuan, Kratos, Azura, Seishin.)

Solaire stands still and doesn't seem to mind Azura's experimentation. Onced asked a few questions, he heartily laughs, the voice echoing inside his own helmet, and jubilantly responds to both at once.

"Indeed, blue maiden friend! Where I come from, Lordran, the world is in a state of dimmensional flux. You can occasionally see the ghosts of other adventurers on different journeys through the land. We can also aid each other through two methods. One is by using a white sign soapstone."

He reaches into a pouch in his tunic and reveals a small, white, pointed stone with small wrappings near the top.

"You write a summoning sign with it on the ground, which beings from other worlds can see. If they touch the sign, you are summoned into their world for a round of jolly cooperation! Normally, the sign would be white, but because I am a Warrior of Sunlight, the sign, and myself, appear in a brilliant, golden hue. So yes, I am indeed a phantom. A gold phantom. As a gold phantom, I couldn't hurt you if I wanted. I am innately aligned with the person who summoned me, and since I didn't feel solid to you, the person who summoned me must consider you an ally!"

"Huh...so if your world is always in flux...it's no surprise you ended up here! Might we find others from your world here at some point?"

Solaire crosses his arms and thinks for a few moments.

"There are two other ways that beings from my world might interract with this one. One is with this..."

He reveals another soapstone, this one orange with white wrappings near the top.

"This one allows one to write messages to people of other worlds along with anyone in the world you currently inhabit. Watch."

He kneels down and carves more strange signs into the ground, appearing as several orange lines with runes on them.

"These signs place your thoughts into a sigil on the ground, to be conveyed to someone that touches the sign. Go ahead and try it."

As Solaire stands back up, Rhone cautiously kneels down and places his hand on the soapstone for a few seconds before standing back up and looking at the rest of the group with a blank expression on his face.

"It says 'praise the sun'."

"Indeed! Now...I must warn you all as well. I am a friendly phantom, but not all like me are as so."

"Yeah, you mentioned yourself as a gold phantom...and I guess a normal person with the white soapstone would be a white phantom...what would a bad one be?"

"Black phantoms...although their name doesn't make too much sense, they're cloaked in red. If you ever see a red phantom, you have to defeat them in combat in order to banish them back to their world."

"Well that's no problem, we just won't summon any black phantoms."

Solaire shakes his head before speaking in a concerned tone.

"You misunderstand. Although, yes, there is a red sign soapstone for leaving summon signs for honorable combat, most black phantoms simply use means to invade the world of their victim. Often they will just show up without warning...and if you were able to summon me into this world, there's no doubt this would can get invaded by mine as well."

Solaire suddenly laughs again and performs another Y pose.

"Luckily for you all, this is what a Warrior of Sunlight is for! I will protect you all with everything I have!"

Likaia Repede
Wandering Soldier Man's Best Friend

Location :: Luin | Company :: No one No one

Likaia and Repede had decided to split up. While Repede went to take care the chapel district, Likaia stayed in the inn area. Luin wasn't extremely populated. Even with travelers, it wouldn't take long for the town to evacuate. All she had to do was keep the monsters off the citizens. She knew a few may not make it, being realistic, but she would try. As she darted through the district, keeping an eye open for monsters, Likaia came across a familiar figure. Seeing it sparked blinding rage, and she let out a feral growl. Without thinking, and forgetting about the citizens, the wolf-dog hybrid reacted on her rage. Running at the illusion, she jumped and bit right into the shoulder of her former master. The taste of blood seeped into her mouth, and a scream broke through the static of her rage. Her senses flooded back to her, and only after she released her fanged grip did she see who she had bitten. It was a woman. An ordinary citizen. The shadow had taken over temporarily and replaced her with Mary's father. Was that the true terror of these dark monstronsities? Backing away, Likaia's ear perked when she heard a whoosh, only to be struck with a thick piece of wood by a man. Yelping, she darted off a few feet. The man called the woman "Flora". She had heard that name before. The two ran off together, leaving Likaia. Which was understandable. She had just attacked the woman. Though, it wasn't necessarily her fault. That wasn't an excuse, though. Shaking her head, she decided it best to get back to scouting for monsters.

Near the chapel, Repede was having much better luck than his female counterpart. He didn't have a clue about the shadow's illusion effect, and he was fortunate enough to not cross one. Instead, he was able to focus on slaying the monsters that came into the town and protecting the citizens as they escaped. It wasn't long before only a few people remained, one already too far gone to save. It sort of hurt to have to leave the dying man, but there were two children, an infant and who he assumed to be the older sister, he had to help. Running up to their hiding spot, which was inside an open crate, Repede peeked in and barked. The older one jumped before he managed to coax her out of the crate. It would take too long for him to simply lead her from the town. Sweeping her up onto his back and gently lifting the baby to hand it to the girl, he made a careful dash for the bridge.

A toy, huh? Right. As if Zelos was going to believe that. But, he was probably going to spread that lie around to protect his four-legged friend. Zelos didn't have the right to intercept. "That's a neat toy. You should keep it's attitude this way. Give some snarky drunkard a run for his money with it." Zelos' eyes went to the "toy" as it let out a series of barks. He would agree with Crow verbally about just using it's voice, but he instead turned his head a bit to stare behind him. He had great eyesight, so caught sight of the source of the fox's noise rather quickly. Was this figure lost, or just observing them out of curiosity. Either way, it was creepy. "There's a town called Sybak nearby. If you're all lost, heading there is your best bet." He had spoken loudly, so that the stranger could hear him. "But, I have to go now. I have to report back to His Majesty before the old man has a heart attack. See you around." Turning, Zelos walked off, heading back to Meltokio. He could take the easy way and just fly there, but he definitely needed to walk some more. Who would still love him if he was a blob?

Issun Kulai
Voiceless Slayer
══════════════════════════
Location: A forest | Company: Daemorai; two individuals are nearby

Issun walked through the forest, his arms crossed and his eyes half-closed in irritation. To someone who didn't know him, which was everyone really, it would seem that he was irritated with being in the forest. That he was just lost and wanted to get back to civilization. But, that was because they would be blind and deaf to the real cause. Walking behind him, cloaked in invisibily to everyone but Issun and the other demon-kin, was a seven foot tall devil. He had been chatting away until recently, but that didn't make things better. Issun knew he was flipping through one of his perverse magazines. "Which model do you like best, Issun? Amanda or Mars?" Issun stopped walking when Daemorai held the magazine in front of him, the two explicit images blocking out the view of the forest. "Amanda's specialty is military, but you strike me more as someone who would enjoy a kink master like Mars~." Issun closed his eyes and swatted Daemorai's magazine away from his face. Neither. He wasn't attracted to either of the models. "Pervert....Make yourself useful and go find a town. Take that trash with you." Daemorai frowned before the magazine disappeared with a burst of black flames. "Just passed these hills there's a village. I can hear the citizens from here. Besides...." Issun glanced back at Daemorai, seeing a familiar gleam in his silver eyes. There was a demon nearby. Looking forward, Issun sighed. Daemorai couldn't leave Issun's side when a demon or devil was near them. Devils and demons were extremely protective of the humans they were bound to, even though Issun could handle a demon on his own. "Just one demon?" "Yes, but be careful. His aura if very powerful....Issun, I can smell human blood." A greater demon, or just a strong lesser demon? It was hard to tell, even with Daemorai's help. Well, it didn't matter. An injured human with a demon around meant Issun had work to do.

Skylar Soderman (Daermod Armageddon) and Ankoko Raguna
Devil's Duo

Location: Iselia Forest | Company: No one > Two men

Ankoko carried Daermod through the Iselia Forest, going as slow as possible while not jeopardizing his friend's health. Daermod winced a few times and opened his eyes. "Ankoko....Where are we?" "The Iselia Forest. How are you feeling?" Daermod frowned. That was a long way from their tower. But, that wasn't the only problem. This Aselia was different than theirs. No demons running around, no leaking miasma, and the mana was...newer to say the least. "Something wrong?" "I lost control of my power for a moment. We're in a completely different Aselia....You'll need to behave yourself. Can you do that?" Ankoko chuckled. He would try his best to behave. The demon didn't want any trouble for Daermod, especially while injured. "Forgive me....You'll have to wait longer. I don't have the power or the necessary environment to finish the promise I made to you." "I've waited this long. I can wait awhile longer."

After a few minutes of the two moving through the forest, Ankoko was told to stop and set the scholar down. He wanted to try and walk on his own. Of course, the bite to his leg made it difficult. Ankoko hovered over him protectively. "I'm fine. You don't need to loom, Ankoko. You're like an overprotective mother sometimes." "Well, if your affinity for chimeras wasn't so horrible...." Daermod glared at Ankoko, throwing a rock at him. The demon leaned out of the way as if dodging a fly. As Daermod sat down to rest, he noticed Ankoko's expression change. The demon reached into his cloak and pulled out a ninja sword. "Ankoko?" "Just rest."

A trail of demonic energy suddenly formed next to them, and Ankoko heard a whoosh suddenly after. Jumping out of the way in time to avoid the sword, he landed next to Daermod and stood protectively near him. "Interesting technique....I'll have to learn it." Ankoko charged at the young male, producing another ninja sword from his cloak. As he closed in on the other, he felt the mana charge and quickly jump out of the way as a Thunder Blade attack formed. He expected his opponent to be struck, but something pulled him out of the way. It took a few moments to spot the form of another demon. No, not a demon, but something similiar. Landing next to Daermod, he winced as he was hit with a rock. "Idiot! I told you to behave!" "He attacked me. I was just defending myself. Didn't I tell you to rest? Wasting mana won't help you." The black-haired man frowned as he stood, moving to stand in front of Ankoko. "Who are you, and why did you attack my partner? Did your friend there put you up to it?"

It is as she thought as Tear skimmed through a few books. There was none that mentioned anything about fonons at all. However she did manage to find one in particular that was focused on Aselia's history, which had caught her interest. Afterall, if they were to blend in with the inhabitants of this world, they must learn as much as they could about Aselia and its history. Not just that, it was important that they should learn about the world she and her otherworldly companions are currently trapped in. Perhaps it would give them a clue as to figuring out the source of these shadows the researcher spoke of earlier.

It was then an unfamiliar voice had her lift her head to notice there was a brunette male speaking to Elize. From what she could tell, he seemed to know Elize so it was safe to assume that he was from her world. She had also noticed Mamizou reaching for a book about mana before the girl's attention had shifted to Elize's friend. The Melodist gave a slight nod in greeting since Mamizou had already asked the very question she wanted to ask so there was no need to repeat the question. Of course the man wasn't the only one that had caught Tear's attention. There was also a white-haired woman nearby who had placed a potted flower on a table. From how she was dressed, it was a possibility that she was an inhabitant.

Location: A forest | Company: Daemorai and two individuals

Issun hadn't felt the charge in the air until after the demon backed off. If it hadn't been for Daemorai, he would have been struck by the attack. Not that Issun would admit such a thig, especially with Daermorai around. "I've never seen such magic, and it didn't rely on the demon's power. I don't think these two are a bonded pair." "How is he able to use magic then?" Issun realized the devil still had his arms around him, and he pulled out of his hold. As he patted himself off, as if trying to rid his clothes of the very presence of Daemorai, he was shocked to hear the other male's question. He could see Daemorai? "A medium of sorts perhaps? Heh....Well, whatever the case, I can lose the cloak." Issun crossed his arms as Daemorai shed the magical cloak that hid him, or was supposed to hide him. The devil wrapped his arms around Issun's shoulders, making the human tense and shudder. "Greetings~. The name's Daemorai, and this handsome young man is my beloved master, Issun." Issun shuddered and swatted Daemorai away. The devil chuckled a bit. "Allow me to apologize on Issun's behalf. He was told there was demon near an injured human, and his responsibility as a demon slayer is to eliminate pesky demons." He was apologizing out of a formality, but didn't mean it. Daemorai had fulfilled his duty as Issun's radar. If that caused trouble for others, it wasn't his problem. Still, this human could use magic without the help of a demon or devil. He wanted to stay in his good graces to save Issun the trouble of dealing with another attack.

Jade Curtiss and Zaul Oleander
The Necromancer and the One-Eyed Gunman
══════════════════════════
Location: Hima | Company: Each other > Krystal, Soul, Maka

By now, Zaul was riding one of the trainer's Velocidragons, which gave him the speed boost he needed to do a final round of checking on the town. The trainer himself and four other unmanned dragons followed close behind, since Zaul was, at the moment, somehow a beacon of mana that kept their sanity stable. Whatever monsters got in their way, he kept at bay with copious amounts of Tide Bullets, water-infused shots toward the ground that made small bursts of water pop up. Not exactly an attack that could fell them in one shot, but all he needed was to trip them up. Lingering around to fight would waste time; he'd spend some killing monsters only if they were about to hurt people. Fortunately by now, the town's population had thinned out and made it outside the shadow's edge.

The market area, where Jade went, was the last place to check. It was completely empty now, save for a group of Skeletons hanging around the dead end of the place.

Jade wasn't all too fazed, but he would still admit to himself that keeping up with the onslaught of Skeletons was starting to become a bit much. There was something strange he noticed...for each one he shattered, another would immediately step in his way to continue the fight, and it seemed to buy the one that had fallen some time to reassemble itself and stand back up again. Was that perhaps an effect of this shadow of corruption?

He could easily clear the way to escape with a spell, but the monsters' proximity would not allow him the time to concentrate. Even a Lightning Tempest would help, but for all the consecutive times he used Thunder Lance or Sovereign Gale, he'd find that the particles of the Third Fonon would not linger as long as usual to allow him that.

"Ah got'cher back, old man! Icicle Rain!" Zaul's voice suddenly cut through the air, from outside the circle of Skeletons closing in on him. What followed was a flurry of icicles stabbing into each one, stunning them for a moment.

It was in that moment, while he could still feel the dense concentration of element that was akin to the Fourth Fonon, that Jade instantly decided upon the next best move aside from Lightning Tempest. He gave his lance a spin over his head, then stabbed it into the ground before him. "Be swallowed by water! Mighty Deluge!"

Zaul looked on in slight surprise as the Colonel displayed a form of elemental manipulation right before his eyes. The resulting burst of water significantly knocked back the Skeletons and finally allowed him the leeway to escape their vicinity. "But yer...human..." he uttered in slight confusion when he arrived beside him.

"Yes, and...?" he teasingly shot back with a smirk, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose.

The gunman lightly shook his head, as if snapping out of some stupor. "Ah'll ask ya later. Git on one and lets high-tail it outta here already," he ordered as he pointed to one of the Velocidragons behind him.

The two rode on toward Hima's entryway, where they spotted Krystal and Maka. Though they hadn't stuck around to witness Soul's transformation, they figured the scythe she was wielding was him. Knowing that they might get the wrong idea about the Velocidragons following them, Zaul shouted out before they would make a move, "Hold yer fire, don' hurt these dragons! They're with th' tamer here!"

Jade followed, "We're quite sure that's everyone now. Let's continue to bring them a good distance away from the shadow's edge."
