This was not the Tanzanite the Blood Moon Court had come to know. It was not the crazed woman who had thrown back her head and laughed until the blood bubbled up from her lungs and choked off the sound. It was certainly not the fragile woman who had been beaten and broken, whose foolishness and weakness had cost General-King Marthozite his life.

This was Tanzanite reborn.

Her broken body had been filled with the power of the Negaverse. Where the flesh of her legs had been burnt and rendered useless, Metallia's power her given her new ones. Two sets of horns arched backwards from her temples, her head ringed with a crown of sharp spikes. Scales ringed her eyes and cheeks, and stretched down her slender necks. Most striking, though, were the wings that moved with every breath, always moving, always shifting, as though they were alive all on their own.

There was no more division. No more warring consciousness or divided strengths and weaknesses. There was no youma half and human half. There was simply General-Queen Tanzanite, some strange but seamless mix of monster and human.

And boy, did she ever look pissed.

Her narrowed eyes found Sailor Ares as she stood, and a small smile curved those dark lips. The Senshi of Smoke would not die, hm? It seemed the women had that in common.

“Zinkenite,” she spoke softly, her eyes never leaving Ares' matching ones, “would you kindly find Lyra for me? I have a promise to keep.”

There wasn't time to try and figure out what he was feeling. Seeing the cocoon, watching poor Wolframite cry, beat, and claw at it, Seeing Ares leap at it and try to...he didn't want to think about it. He just.... And then...

Then that blackened hand shot out at Ares, the cocoon began to open and a new Tanzanite was revealed. There was joy much like when he had found Wolframite. And it felt so good after having such fear. His legs felt weak. He trembled. But not from fear anymore. No. So much had been opened up to him. A whole world of things he had locked away, emotions that he'd kept on a tight leash.

He was so thankful. Thankful for all he'd been given and even all he had to endure. Thankful to have Tanzanite and Wolframite back. Thankful to have this family that was the Negaverse... And for all the pride he possessed, he still cried. And he didn't know why.

A chill ran down his spine... he hadn't told anyone the secret of Lyra...not yet. But an order...was an order.
He bowed, hand pressed hard to the fracture in his ribs before he vanished and appeared beside Lyra. His eyes met hers, cold and distant, but somehow...concerned before he reached a quick hand to trap her close.

"If you ever...want to see your half brother again..." He whispered in her ear. "I suggest you stay still, you and I have a meeting with the General Queen."

s**t.

That single word rang through her head like the chime of a church bell on a grim Sunday morning. Her heels dug into the ground, and she propelled herself backwards away from the cocoon. The energy was undeniable, it struck fear into her heart long before she saw what had been incubating inside of it. Her wings spread wide, providing a counter-balance to the fast movement backwards. But, Nemesis knew that even a mile away would not be enough to escape the horror of this moment.

It was Tanzanite, and she was not dead. She could have been dead, they had every chance to rid themselves of this particular plague, and they had not taken them. Fury and horror rose up her throat like bile. Even now, it was impossible to figure the scope of what was happening. Tanzanite was not dead - she was stronger now, stronger than anything Nemesis could ever hope to achieve. Their strength was far different now, and Nemesis was the weaker. There was no goodness that would save them now. Serenity would not come to their aid at the last second.

Tanzanite was going to rally her troops, and they were going to rain down on them like the Black Death. "<********>!" Maybe they could take her down before she got used to her new abilities. Perhaps there was a slim chance that they would survive this, that she could go home to her family tonight. With a soft grunt, her hands began to spark blue, an attack Tanzanite was more than well-acquainted with, an attack that had implanted horrors upon the new General Queen's body. Nemesis' only hope was to attack quick, because like hell would she run away.

Not to her.

Zanazziite was oblivious to the world, the only thing that existed was the crystal in her hands. That was until she felt energy growing in the cocoon. Lifting her head slowly she blinked trying to see clearly through cracked glasses and teary eyes. Before she managed to see anything a shock wave of energy hit her and she tumbled back, keeping a good grip on her crystal.

Slowly she stood, watching the arm attack Ares with wide eyes. Tanzanite? She was scared to hope, scared to be let down. And then she was hit with another wave of energy, falling back to the ground. She was frozen as she watched the cocoon unfurl. Could it be...?

It was. Tanzanite was standing in the middle of the cocoon and Zanazziite found herself crying again. It looked like Tanz's soul hadn't gone into her crystal, it had been reborn.

Standing up shakily she stared at the General-Queen, entranced. She wanted to go to her, but she was frozen in her awe. So frozen she was, that she didn't register the energy jump of Ares, or her getting up as an Eternal senshi.

"Tanz...!"
Schee (who had -thankfully- removed himself from Zink's shoulder before the dark energy seeped off of him and he returned to human form), simply fell to his knees near their general.

No...General Queen.

Confusion flashed across his features for a moment. What...what had been up with Linarite? That -was- her, right? And how had this even happened and just

what was going on?!

But the confusion was quickly replaced by joy, a huge smile flashing over tired features as he realized they -would- be okay. Tanz was here, she was back and they were safe. They hadn't been too late for her after all. All the energy and nerves and everything seemed to run off at him at once, leaving behind just one tired as hell Scheelite.

"I...I never stopped looking for you. I -promised- we'd find you, find you all. I...was...Primase..."
He couldn't say it, not again. It hitched in his throat for a moment before he shook it away.

Tanz would understand.

It had caught him off guard and silenced his crying when he felt a shock return when he touched the cocoon, and he jerked back only to touch it again, desperate for some sign. It was something. It had to be something. Something responded back to him and he wanted, hoped, prayed, wished, and would bargain with the devil to feel it again. Concentrating, Wolframite didn’t have his guard up and didn’t think of having one for Tanzanite as well. When Ares came in the dim glow, he cried out, wanting her to just stop. Tanzanite was…. And yet Ares was here still. Her persistence and lack of any heart hit hard, and he didn’t know what else to do. Then again, there was no need.

The energy returned, a small flicker, but the fact it was there caused him to stare into the pod, eyes wide and small breath held. It grew, like a fire kindled by some unknown source. It rose, higher and higher, wave upon wave as it rose and rose, and there was a split second he felt the world would explode from it.

Ares was stopped, and the blackened had caught Wolframite’s attention. The voice made him drop to his knees, and he watched as Ares was spoken to, corrected at last, and tossed aside. He would have hoped she was crushed, but his eyes were dedicated only on the cocoon now. A cocoon that was unraveling like a dark blossom, and from it, Tanzanite stepped out. Despite the new clothes, the new look, and a massive pair of wings that looked as if Arm brought some family along, Wolframite knew it all to be Tanzanite. It did not jerk him back in the slightest, and he let his eyes travel the details of her new appendages for a brief moment before looking at her face, her eyes, and watching. Listening. Speaking notes of true power and truth that made the tearing pain in his chest expand and warm.

The senshi were monsters who understood nothing of this power. Of Love and loyalty and friendship, and Tanzanite had arrived as the angelic messenger to open eyes to the power the Negaverse had. Not the raw power of upgrades and strength in their bodies, but of their links to each other.

As she looked over them all, Wolframite pushed himself back to his feet. Soon, a pair of bruised, dirty, sore arms wrapped around Tanzanite, and held her tightly as his small, nearly collapsing frame could. “I knew it. I knew you didn’t go.” While those two weeks made him feel that he would never live or feel happiness again, he was never happier now. The senshi had taken friends and comrades. That much was true, but they had not taken her. Childishly, he believed they never would.

Suddenly, the power was pulled from her, and it was a very human Fluorite that squeaked and fell flat on her butt. Even the wings that had been granted to her by the great youma were gone, though there was a black feather in her hand, held tight.

And she could only stare. Stare as the cocoon opened, revealed... Revealed the most impressive thing she had ever seen. She should have been scared, but she wasn't. She looked like a monster, sure, but even now, even though it was the first time she truly laid eyes on her, she knew one thing.

General-Queen Tanzanite would never hurt her, much like the youma that had been and was even now part of her would.

But yet there was nothing she could do but stare, eyes wide, at all the things that were unfolding in front of her.

Chilla ran up her spine as the flower like..podular opened. She thought it would reveal big bird V2 back for revenge like some bad sequel... but no, it was worse.

General queen... a general queens aura suddenly showed on the radar. Not only that, a bird of a eternal.

What.. the fell was going on. As she made a move to step back, she was suddenly stopped as she felt arms wrapping around her shoulders, a quick grasp. A even quicker saying.

...They had Zac?.... Eyes FILLED with concern looked up into zinks cold, hard ones. How did...they know?

Wait... if they knew she had a brother, did they know who SHE was? All concern for that was tossed into the air, and only replaced with a NEED to know that her brother was safe. A simple cell phone call would have done it... but she was sure they would have not allowed this. Never allow anything... was her death waiting at the end of this?

Eyes looking down, in clear defeat. She nodded slowly. She would see what this General queen wanted for her brother back.

Hel only stared in horror as it all unfolded. Everything seemed to slow to a still as Ares struck a final blow. She saw Schee, Zink, everyone around. It was killing her to see her few friends watching one of the few people they all knew being killed.

But that wasn't the case. Something changed, something big had changed. Before anyone could blink something had reached out, no stepped out of the dark shell killing Ares? For a moment Hel could only stare slack jawed at the site of Tanzanite again.

"H-how..." she muttered. Her eyes wandering towards Ares who again rose up, renewed by powers unknown to her. Everything, everything was happening so quickly.

Bring me Lyra

The words echoed faintly in her ears as she turned to watch Zink escort the sailor scout.

Meanwhile Sorrin shifted about among the rubble of the battle, he saw Lyra being escorted, he saw the renewed heroes and villians. His heart stopped. Lyra. The person who first taught him how to use his powers proper.

No. What were they about to do?

It was an explosion of power, in a sense, and Scylla's head swam from her nose, and from everything that was happening. Tanzanite wasn't dead, not at all, and Ares was... Eternal? Should she be alarmed, or feel relief? Tanzanite being a General Queen was a Very Bad Thing. Ares being so close to her was even worse.

And now the General Queen was demanding sacrifices, it seemed. Demanding Lyra, and Scylla's rage danced over the surface. No. She wouldn't let it end like this. Not for her, not for Lyra, not for any of them... but there was nothing... right now, all she could do was stand there, impotent, watching the march. It seemed like most of the field was frozen, like her. Impotent.

Her mind didn't work quickly enough. She was afraid to rock the boat. She wouldn't even risk her life to save a sister.

Scylla was useless.

The last time Ares had upgraded in this life it had also been moments after suffering a life-ending wound from Tanzanite. It was not an arrangement that she enjoyed, especially when the Negaverse soldier always remained one step ahead of her. Her eyes locked with the woman she felt destined to fight against. The magic of transformation had refreshed Ares in the same way that Tanzanite had been refreshed. It didn't stop the pang of shock that crossed her features with Lyra's name was spoken.

Let them have a hugging contest with Tanzanite. Ares was not going to let them have Lyra. Flexing the muscles of her arm, she whipped the long staff behind her and took off after Zinkenite. "Don't TOUCH her," she snapped, leaping into the air.

The torch spun over her head, and she aimed for the side of Zinkenite's head.

Alkaid had fallen, been blown away, as she'd tried and failed to put herself between Ares and what she thought was left of Tanzanite. The burst of energy had knocked her backwards and sent her tumbling gracelessly to the ground in a heap, the fall creating more bruises that seemed to endlessly line her body at this point.

She lay there for a long moment as she tried to gasp air back into her lungs, moving weakly. As that energy grew stronger, brighter, like electricity crackling in the air, she could feel it. She pushed herself up feebly onto her elbows and, for the first time, set her eyes on the General Queen.

Those tears of failure and sorrow lingered, but as she stared at that proud woman so far away, it was relief that finally made them fall. They were silent tears that made small rivers down her pale cheeks, washing away the tiniest fraction of dirt and blood that was smeared across her face.

She pushed herself up onto her knees and then, wobbling, tried to bring herself to her feet without success. So she just sat there on her knees, without enough energy left to do otherwise. She was tired and broken, she had endured all manners of torture and brutality on this mission, and there were no words she could find to express her happiness at seeing the woman unharmed. She didn't want to crowd her, she didn't want to rush to her side like everyone else. She just wanted to admire her from a distance, watch her with the knowledge that she had made up for her previous failures - and most of all, she really just wanted to go home.

He started to turn when he heard her battle cry, but there was no time for that. As odd as it might have looked he had to keep Lyra safe, no... he had to keep BETH safe. He dragged at her, twisting away to make sure she wouldn't be struck by the blow that she angled after him, striking him hard in the back so he stumbled and the pair of them fell, him still folded around her as though he meant to save her from her own desperately violent leader.

"You've LOST Ares, all you have done is give us a General Queen... and I will be following HER orders, I am not some puppet to follow yours He growled and moved one hand free...Lyra could hurt him then if she wanted, he plucked forth the infamous smoke 'seeds', delicately balanced between his fingers in a silent threat.

One arm gently wrapped around Wolframite and pulled the young Captain in close.

“It's alright,” she whispered, claws combing gently through his tangled hair, “It's over, now. I won't leave you again, Wolframite. I promise.”

A smile was given to Scheelite, and the General-Queen nodded once, “I know you didn't, Scheelite. I knew you never would. Can you please help Wolframite stand? There's something I would like to do.”

Tanzanite turned, and rested those clawed hands on Bismuthite's shoulders, and the General Queen smiled a surprisingly grateful smile.

“Bismuthite,” her hand lifted to gently rest upon the boy's cheek, “You have exceeded my every expectation. You have become stronger that I had hoped you could, and I think you have outgrown” she spoke with surprising softness, and that blackened hand vanished into his chest and took hold of his starseed for the second time in the young Lieutenant's life.

This was her thanks. Her way of showing gratitude. She could sense now, as she had never been able to before, which of them was ready. Which of them could withstand the power she was now capable of funneling into them. Bismuthite would experience pain unlike anything he had ever known, but when it was said and done, he would be better for it. Stronger.

A Captain.

“Now. If you will excuse me, Captain, I have a minor issue I must attend to.”

Somehow, she had seen Ares moving, and Tanzanite moved behind her with a thought, second after her staff made contact. The hand of her right wing moved, and closed around the Eternal Senshi's throat.

“Oh, I will touch her, Ares. I will touch her as you touched Dioptase. Oh, Ares, the wonders I am going to show your little protege. The things I'm going to do to her... and when I'm done?” The wing folded, pulling Ares in close until Tanzanite's lips brushed against her ear and her voice was a whispered hiss, “I'm going to take everything else you've ever cared for. Everything you've ever loved, and I am going to make it burn.”

The General-Queen tossed Ares aside, a ragdoll she had grown bored of, and turned to the pair behind her.

Lyraaaaa,” Tanzanite's voice was soft, deceptively so. Black claws lifted to gently touch her cheek, and the woman smiled a terrible smile, “Please do not forget, we tried to warn you. I begged you to let her live. I pleaded for her life, and you spat in my face. You watched as she died. And now...?”

She smiled, and that youma arm lashed out with a backhand hard enough to send the girl flying the length of a football field.

“Please collect her, General. She will be coming with us.”

She finished with a sing-song tone, “Neeeeemesiiiiiis.

Because two women had carried Dioptase in to her death, and Tanzanite had made a promise to them both.
