"Yes, it was an innocent question." Watari replied, grabbing his coat from a peg on the wall. "Except when posed to an angel, I think..." the scientist smirked slightly before shrugging. "At any rate, I want you two to keep an eye on the phone. If it rings, don't answer it... unless it says 'ME'... then, obviously, it's my cell phone... in which case, answer it. I'm trusting the two of you to NOT get yourselves found out, after all... I'm not responsible with what happens if the higher ups catch wind of you here." sighing slightly, the shinigami shook his head. "But I'm not going to be the one to tell them. After all... I DID promise to help."

Grey eyes focused intently on Tsuzuki for a long moment, hand captured in the shinigami's own.
"If they find out, and they don't understand... that causes trouble for you." he stated obviously. "Not only will it cause you trouble, but then they'll be watching me like a hawk, thinking I'm about to do something worthy of carting me off to the underworld for." the doctor shook his head. "I have no intention of doing something like that again... but would they really understand?" Muraki scoffed slightly, a smirk on his lips. "I highly doubt it, Asato."

"Perhaps the wouldn't understand...but perhaps they would. If I talked to them, then perhaps. I doubt it, but there is always a chance. Still, I'd rather not risk it. I don't want you to be in danger because of me. As far as I am concerned though, don't worry about trouble on my part. You're worth it."
Pulling Muraki ever closer, Tsuzuki began running a hand through the doctor's silver locks, slipping the strands over the man's ears as he kissed him repeatedly on the forehead.
"Perhaps...it would be best if we ran away together, ne?"

Grey eyes closed as Muraki laughed softly. "Run away, ne?" he asked, his voice a mere whisper. "What would that solve, Asato-kun? They would look for you... look for a shinigami who has run away with a man who is supposed to be dead."
Shaking his head, Muraki pulled back and looked into the other's amethyst gaze. "I came here to meet with Oriya... I came to ask him about what is so very wrong with me. About the flash, about what he knows... And then I found you and things became a lot clearer... but I still don't know everything, Asato-kun."
The doctor pulled away, strangely finding it hard to breathe so close to the other worldly man.
"They'll drag you back to the afterlife, Tsuzuki. I can't stop that, neither can you. Perhaps it's for the best?"
Muraki couldn't help the sudden wince in his features, one hand going up to press his fingers against his chest.
It hurt to breathe... hurt to think or form words and...
'Kill him!'
The silver haired man's hand tightened into a fist against his chest as those two words resonated through his mind over and over again.
'Kill him!' 'Kill him!' 'Kill him!' 'Kill him!' 'Kill him!' 'Kill him!' 'Kill him!' 'Kill him!'
"To... tomeru..." Muraki gasped out as he tried to take a breath.
But it hurt so badly... as if someone were stabbing him through the lungs every time he tried.
And for a split second, Kazutaka seriously wondered if he was going to die and his body become the home for the demonic spirit which had showed itself to him earlier.
He wanted to protect Tsuzuki from Saki... to protect Oriya and Ukyou from the twisted sociopath that was his deceased brother...
But right now, he couldn't even protect himself...

"Kazu...I can stop it. I CAN protect you. At least let me try..." the shinigami pleaded, still clinging onto the pale doctor. Though the doctor was somehow a bit paler than usual...
Noticing the wince of pain on his lover's features, Tsuzuki instinctively pulled the man closer, cradling him against his own chest.
"What is it? Kazu...are you ok?" Tsuzuki's brow furrowed as he watched Muraki's condition worsen right before his eyes. The gasps of the other man even sounded painful to Tsuzuki. Whatever was happening, it was an emergency.
"Kazu...Kazutaka! Hang on..."
Hurriedly, he lifted Muraki up and onto the bed, debating for a moment as to whether to call an ambulance or deal with this himself.
It would weaken him, but it would be better to handle this on his own.
Placing his hands palms flat against Muraki's chest, Tsuzuki channeled his energy into the other man. Anything that was sick or injured about him would be healed, or at the very least soothed depending on the severity of the issue.
"Just relax, Kazu. It's ok." Tsuzuki soothed.
In his mind, however, Tsuzuki did have his doubts.

Kazutaka couldn't breathe!
In fact, he couldn't even heard Tsuzuki's voice. Yes, his grey eyes saw the shinigami hovering worriedly over him, and the doctor knew that he was probably going to pass out from lack of oxygen before the other man could do anything to help...
But if he passed out...
If he lost consciousness now...
'Don't worry, Kazu-kun... just let go for a little while and it will all be over soon. I promise I won't stay long... After a few moments, it will be over and you can go find that precious Oriya of yours... yakusoku...'
As much as he wanted to disobey the voice in his mind... the doctor in Muraki knew that passing out was inevitable.
So, even as Tsuzuki placed his palms on the silver haired man's chest, even as he began feeding energy through his body...
Kazutaka's eyes slipped closed and he stopped struggling.
A fraction of a second later, those grey eyes snapped open and both of Muraki's hands reached up, grasping Tsuzuki by his barely buttoned shirt collar and pulling to shinigami down in a forceful kiss.
In fact, somehow, the doctor got the upper hand and had Tsuzuki pinned beneath him, forcing the kiss even more as his tongue delved deeply into the others mouth.
Then, pulling back, hands still holding the shinigami down. Muraki smirked darkly.
"Did you, by chance, miss me... Tsuzuki-san?" he asked wickedly.

It happened in an overwhelming blur. One moment, Tsuzuki had been doing his damndest to help his lover, the next, he was being kissed, flipped roughly, and pinned. Had it not been so confusing, it wouldn't have been something the shinigami would have been opposed to. He even found himself returning the kiss as it deepened harshly. When the doctor leaned away, though, all the color drained from Tsuzuki's face.
This wasn't the kind physician he had made love to earlier. This was the same mad murderer who had broken and all but destroyed him.
"Kazu...please..." he found himself whimpering pitifully as he gazed up into the cold silver eyes that glared like scalpels above him.

"Please?" Muraki replied before laughing darkly. "Yare yare... Tsuzuki-san... Don't tell me you thought you'd never see me again."
Quickly, the doctor made sure he was straddling the shinigami's waist, keeping him pinned firmly to the bed.
"I wonder... did you have fun? I never thought I'd see you so... forward... so aggressive... especially in bed..." smirking, the silver haired man caressed the side of Tsuzuki's face with one hand, the other pressing him down against the bed. "That new side of you was intriguing... I wonder if that's how you and Kurosaki spend your nights together, hmm?" he asked because laughing once again.
It was so very amusing to Muraki... no, to Saki... to watch this shinigami squirm.

"Kazu...this is a joke...right? This isn't funny!" Terror was apparent in Tsuzuki's features. To stand up against all of Meifu for the Muraki he loved was one thing, but to stand up to the Muraki who had tormented him was something Tsuzuki was incapable of. Absolute fear and submission took over, leaving the shinigami paralyzed.
"I love you Kazutaka. Doushite?"

Smirking, Muraki shook his head. "This isn't a joke, and it truly is humorous, Tsuzuki-san." the doctor replied, claiming the shinigami's lips with his own.
It wasn't as deep of a kiss as before, but that hardly meant it wasn't forceful.
"You love Kazutaka... how touching. Seems everyone loves him really. I've grown tired of playing like I am my brother. Grown tired of everyone thinking this body really does belong to Muraki Kazutaka." with a devilish smirk, Muraki moved the hand which was on Tsuzuki's chest, deftly unbuttoning the shinigami's shirt.
Grey eyes focused maliciously on the pale skin beneath his fingers, at the beautiful form which lay upon the bed.
"I want my own body, Tsuzuki-san... don't you see? If you let me have your own... I can set Kazutaka free again. Don't you understand? I want your gorgeous body... isn't that what I've always wanted?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.
Even as Muraki spoke though, he leaned forward, placing kiss after teasingly kiss along the shinigami's bare chest.

Silently, Tsuzuki let tears stream down the sides of his face, not even bothering to struggle any more. So this is how it was...this is what had been going on the whole time. Muraki Kazutaka was 100% innocent of each and every crime his body had committed. Somehow, his half-brother had managed to take over his body in a quest to retain life, and now Saki sought Tsuzuki's body in a quest for power and immortality. The kisses that Saki placed on his chest were cold, where they would have burned with passion had it been the true Muraki giving them. Those cold kisses were what spurred the shinigami into speaking, though.
"You say you want to exist in my body? And...then you would free Kazu, right?" Tsuzuki questioned. It was a foolish thought, but Tsuzuki knew in his heart that Muraki Kazutaka was innocent, and that he loved the man. In the end, Tsuzuki always became the martyr. Why not one last time?
Though...there was no guarantee that Saki wouldn't still harm Muraki...using his body! That was something Tsuzuki could tolerate even less than the current situation.
There had to be a way out of this...at least a way to save Kazu...but how?

Muraki's entire body stopped moving for a second.
Instead of continuing his teasing kisses, the doctor's grey gaze traveled upward and focused on the shinigami's beautifully gorgeous amethyst eyes.
"I don't want to exist there, Tsuzuki-san. I want your body for my own... and of course I would leave my brother's body afterward." Muraki spoke with a smile. "To think... that you could actually love him... after everything he, or rather I, did to you and the boy..."
Laughter echoed from Muraki then, as the deranged doctor simply couldn't help himself. "The boy was delicious, you know... he was so frightened... he begged me to stop so many times, but..." the hand on Tsuzuki's cheek moved, trailing teasingly down the shinigami's chest, down his stomach... and even further south.
"He was just too innocently vulnerable to go easy on. Just... like..." Muraki's voice darkened, "You."

Tears were impossible to fight. Hearing Muraki...no...Saki...talk in such a way about Hisoka...it was unbearable. The sobs became audible as the shinigami gave in a little more with each cutting word.
Hisoka.
Kurosaki Hisoka.
Tsuzuki had to protect him. Tsuzuki...loved him. Perhaps it had always been an unrequited love, an impossible love, but Tsuzuki cared for the eternal child. It killed Tsuzuki to hear him spoken of in such a manner, to hear the details of how he died. He didn't want Saki to go after him again.
"Wh...what would you do...if I gave my body over to you? You would let your brother go, but would you harm him with my body then? Would you hurt my friends? If I could trust that you would harm no one, then I would gladly hand over my body and accept my own death. Anything for Kazu's freedom...and my friends safety. But...I have no reason to think anything other than you destroying all that I love in my body. I can't let that happen."
Gritting his teeth, Tsuzuki shot forward with his head, slamming it into Muraki's and knocking the doctor off of him enough for him to scramble off the bed and into a crouching position, only to find himself in the corner of the room.

Muraki was about to tell Tsuzuki that he was right in his suspicion...
Why would he let Kazutaka go? Why wouldn't he try to destroy the other meifu shinigami? What would make anyone think that he'd simply stop there?
Then... Tsuzuki slammed his head into the doctor's own, causing Muraki to fall backward off the bed.
He was on his feet in a few moments, rubbing his forehead as he glared at the amethyst-eyed shinigami. "You wouldn't give me your body freely anyway. After all, you wouldn't do it before... why would I think you to change your mind now, hmm?"
Muraki advanced toward Tsuzuki, ready to call a spell to his fingertips and start a full out battle with the shinigami.
At least... that was the intention...
Muraki hadn't counted on the pain that shot through his skull... or the sudden blackout that sent him collapsing to the hotel room carpet.
Out cold, the doctor didn't move. It seemed that, for now... Tsuzuki was safe.
