Whistling tunelessly, a girl strolled down the street, casually dodging pedestrians. She would be a goth, if goth's had a sunny disposition and bright smiles on their faces. Her knee length coat flapped lightly in the wind. It was the one article of clothing she owned that she was protective of. The top half was a black cotton hoodie, and the bottom half was a white hoodie sewed into the top one. The transition looked like a giant zipper, with alternating strips of black and white cloth. The bottom of the coat was cut in a zig-zag fashion to resemble teeth. She had a long length of rubber coated chain wrapped around her midsection, and lots of shards of metal hanging like earrings off her clothes. Her steel toe-capped combat boots clomped loudly on the sidewalk, contrasting her graceful stride. Something about her face, or her expression made on-lookers uneasy and eager to get out of her way. She was walking back to her apartment building, hoping her stuff was still there after her brief stay in prison.

Tyson tilted his head a sort of silent "Nyah?" sound, something he did often. What the old man had just said confused him for a brief moment, and then he suddenly realized what he meant. he had either been homeless, or in a similar situation. Stretching, he yawned and then rolled back into the booth. Then, he quickly rolled forward jumping to his feet and began to follow the older man to the back, taking it that this is what the man wanted him to do. Turning back towards the table, Jay quickly grabbed his violin case and backpack before scurrying to catch back up.

"Sounds great. Well more reason to avoid going out for a while. Let's try and stay out of this guy's way. What does he do?"

Kat gave Jarred a slightly irritated look. "Are you trying to cage me?" She wrinkled her nose and didn't wait for an answer the question, instead answering his. "He's immortal...we think at least. He's been around far longer than the keepers, and he's entirely wrapped up with their myths and history. Basically think of a gigantic indestructible being with super strength. If he's on your side, it's great. But when he's coming after you..."

"More like trying to keep you alive. Trying to keep us all alive. We should call the others and update them, especially Rook."

"Because a trip for beans is detrimental to my health? Should I have been nervous when you took off on your own to shop for supplies? Do I need to start watching you more carefully Jarred?" Kat's smile twinged slightly, "I'll call Rook, let him know what's up."

Jarred sighed, rubbing is eyes briefly. "Alright, just don't get caught, alright? We don't need the boogey man grabbin you."

Marcus listened to their exchange, toying with a pen as he did.

"You don't send a CEO to fire middle management, Kat. There's something else that we don't know. Something to do with you or Rook leaving the Keepers. Some bit of information that is missing, and whatever that information is, is big enough for the Keepers to send one of their heads to this little island."

"Well, how often do buildings explode and resistances pop up against the evil empire?" Jarred shrugged. "You said he gets his hands dirty, which means he's prolly after us because we're here."

Turning back towards the table, Jay quickly grabbed his violin case and backpack before scurrying to catch back up.

It was indeed what the old man wanted, and he made a quick motion with his hand for the young man to speed up a bit. As old as he was, he seemed to wobble fairly quickly along. The stairway was past the kitchen, a few odd looking cooks as well as Mae, busy at clean up. It was clear that the cooks were not exactly kept on hand for their skill, and easy enough to assume that they were part of the little group hiding behind the facade of a chinese restaurant. "You will meet the rest later. They are good people, which is why they stay."

Mae glanced up from her task with a rag and a pot, to give Tyson a slight wave. She smiled, assuming her father had invited him to stay.

Tyson followed by and took in each new face as he tried to keep up with the old man. Lively old sport, aren't you? Tyson thought with a playful smirk. Though he was usually reclusive, he felt he would enjoy his time in fake little China shop. Mae's wave caught him by surprise and he looked at her quickly, smiling warmly as he moved his hand to wave back, clumsily knocking it on the underside of a counter. He would have shouted in pain cursing vainly if had he the voice to. In stead he gave his hand a gentle rub before using it to return the small wave. Japanese word for idiot is baka. I wonder what the Chinese equivalent is.

"I don't assume the big guy is solely after me and Rook, Marcus. That would be fairly pompous of me. But whatever he's doing here, it's likely to take out us in the process." She glanced at Jarred, "I can't recall an outbreak of blooming abilities this large in the Keeper's history. That's not to say there hasn't been one and it wasn't covered up though."
PostPosted: Fri Mar 05, 2010 2:06 pm

"Well, if he's the Keeper's finest means of problem solving, we need to generate a problem he can't solve, or him solving us creates one large enough he can't deal with. We make a situation where he can't win, or winning makes him loose, and we hide behind that until we figure out how else to deal with him."

After about an hour, the rest of the team, including Rook, who magically caught up to the party, returned to the penthouse. Lou explained the events to the rest of the folks.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure Daryl and Sam ended up there, too. So they know everything that happened.

"That's not a bad idea," Jarred nodded in agreement, "I still think we need to lay low while we come up with a plan. The more we're out and about, the more likely they find out where we are, let's wait till we know what we want to do before we get back to the job."

Kat gave him a small smile, "Suppose beans can wait for later." She glanced over at the others who had managed to get back safely. "I suppose we sleep then. Perhaps plan something disastrous and terrible in the morning."
