"The department store sounds really cool but there is no way I can afford anything there." Robin said sounding a little depressed but quickly snapping out of it. "Ah anyway yeah there are totally a ton of new evolutions for pokemon we have had around in the area. I mean Luffy evolved didn't he?" Robin grinned as she looked down at the Ambipom. "I am sure you can catch something really cool in Sinnoh." Her smile was bright and full of hope as she told him that.

"The train will reach Lilycove in a few moment please gather your things and get ready to disembark
." The disembodied voice called from the speakers.

"Ah, were almost there." Robin noticed looking up before glancing out of the window at the passing city as the train started slowing down. Soon the train came to a stop and the doors opened. Grinning Robin got up scooping Black*Star and dragging Luffy out behind her. "Hey see you on the ship all right? Don't come late!" She called before heading out.

~~~~~~
When Dante woke up he was pretty groggy, had a pounding headache and his body was aching all over it. Groaning he pushed himself off of the bed and pealed the curse seal papers off of himself. Rubbing his eyes blearily he looked around and sighed, he had only been a trainer for what a day and already his luck was coming to strike him back. He didn't really know what time it was and he couldn't be late for the party thing. Turn A would be a good clock and he was pretty quiet to. "Come out Turn A." He groaned as he tossed out Turn A's ball.
The electronic pokemon appeared with a small sound before quieting at the sight of his trainer. The emotionless pokemon just floated above the ground waiting for his command.
"Ah Turn A can you tell me what time it is?" He groaned rubbing his head. The Porygon just made an affirmative noise before flashing the time above him. Glancing over he was surprised by the fact that he hadn't slept that late. Groaning he got up and grabbing his bag he headed out to the main pokecenter Turn A following behind him quietly.
"Damn right! Man this is gonna rock hardcore! I'm gonna take so many notes my wrist will probably snap on me! Wait, that's not good. Oh but who cares, it's gonna be so cool!" Jason was pretty excited about the trip, sure the opportunity to catch strange new pokemon was cool but it was more about the research to him. He simply couldn't wait to learn as much as he could about this region, and got lost in thought. He almost didn't notice Robin start to leave. "Eh? Wha-wai-huh!? I thought we were heading there together! Where you going?" But she was gone already. Jason scratched his head in confusion, looking over at Zeus who just stared at him. "Huh....weird. Guess she had something to do eh buddy? Or maybe she was in a hurry...hey the ferry leaves at noon, we've got no time to waste! Better get a ticket before they run out right!?" He enthusiastically, grabbign his bag and opening his window wide. Not wanting to deal with the crowded train Jason hopped out of the train window and landed hard on the platform, not his most graceful landing ever but it did the job. Zeus simply looked with what may have been shame and followed his trainer hovering calmly as they rushed to find the ferry and buy a ticket.
After several hours the tears finally stopped. Will sat huddled with Teagan, and though withdrawals were still itching away at him, he was slowly calming down. Outside the sun had reached its peak, beating down intensely on Canalave. The waves shimmered as they collided with the docks, exploding into frothy green embellishments. Will was captivated; the repetitive sound of waves crashing into the town’s jetties and beaches seemed to lull him into a calming trance. He wanted nothing more than to explore those seas, to see as much as he could. If only I could get past this. He laughed to himself, Yeah, like that’ll ever happen.
“Where’d you put that Pokémon, Will?”
“What?” He was caught a little off guard by both the breach of silence and the question.
“The one that your mom gave you the other day when we left,” Teagan answered. “Where is it?”
“It’s still in the ball… It’s over there on my dresser. Why?”
Teagan just smiled and looked down at him. “I have an idea,” she said.
Next thing he knew, Will was being pulled along outside towards the edge of town. Teagan had some sort of vice grip on his arm that he struggled to comprehend, he didn’t know where they were going but Teagan looked happy so he didn’t ask. She was beautiful. He admired her in this light; she was always so excited and optimistic despite what happened to her. He looked up to her a great deal. She never let anything get to her, at least outwardly. She was very strong.
“C’mon kiddo, why are ya slowing down?”
Will looked up to see Teagan gazing back at him. Wow, I hope I didn’t actually say anything out loud. His face fell into a blush and he pushed forward to her side. Just before the edge of town two boys stepped out in front of Teagan, who skidded to a stop.
“Where are you headed so quickly?” one boy asked.
“That’s a good question,” Will said as he keeled over to catch his breath.
“We’re headed out to battle Pokémon,” Teagan said through her wide smile, “My friend here just inherited one as a gift and we’re going to see if he’s fit to be a trainer.”
Will squinted and raised his hand to interject again, “Wha-“
“What a coincidence,” the other boy interrupted, “We’re beginning trainers too. How about a friendly double battle to kick off your career as a trainer?”
“Sure,” Teagan yelled, “Lets get to it.”
Teagan pulled Will off to one side of the street while the two other boys waited on the other.
“I’m not sure about this,” he said. “I can’t do this. I mean, I’ve never had a Pokémon before, I don’t know what to do.”
He looked over to Teagan, who stood ready and focused. “Go Spike! You'll be fine, just give commands and be supportive and understanding."
There was a blinding red flash, Will looked out to the road and saw a blue fish Pokémon that had a good number of protruding barbs.
“What is that?” Will asked.
Teagan turned to him, “That’s Spike, he’s my qwilfish. What kind of Pokémon do you have?”
Will shrugged, “I don’t know, my mom just gave it to me... She said it’s name was Charlie.”
Teagan was unimpressed, “You haven't even seen him yet? You have to take better care of him, Will. There’s way more to them than meets the eye, why don’t you throw him out there?”
Will held the ball in his hand. What’s the worst that could happen? He pitched the ball out into the street, “Go Charlie!”
Out of the ball came a small swinub. About a foot long, and completely covered in shaggy hair, its only discernable feature was its nose. Charlie looked back at Will, unfamiliar with his new master. He went to move up next to Spike, but stumbled, catching his own fur under his leg. He tumbled forward and landed on his stomach, but undeterred stood up and found his place next to Spike. You have got to be kidding me, Will thought, what the hell is this thing?
Teagan laughed, “Well that’s… cute I guess. Swinub makes sense what with us being from Snowpoint and all. Ice and ground type.”
Across the street the other trainers caught a laugh too, and replied with a number of belittling comments. Will’s face grew red, he was embarrassed and he wanted to leave already. After a moment, the two boys gathered themselves and cast out their own Pokémon.
“Go Vulpix!”
“Go Pikachu!”
Teagan was the first into action. “Spike, use poison sting!” The quilfish lunged forward and shot a barb that immediately connected with the vulpix. Upon being hit it stumbled back, the barb still lodged in its leg. The boy, now enraged, ordered it to attack Charlie. The vuplix ran with a limp toward Charlie brewing some sort of small fireball. Will called out, “Move Charlie, don’t get hit.” Charlie disobeyed, and stood still. The vulpix collided with Charlie, hitting him with a slight ember. Charlie reeled backwards in pain, letting out a high-pitched squeal. Teagan turned to Will and spoke very seriously, “You’d better get a hold of him and learn his weaknesses, one more hit like that and he’s going down.” Will nodded and turned back to his wounded Pokémon, “Get up Charlie, we’re not out of this yet.” Charlie moved around just in time to watch Pikachu charge up a small thundershock. Will continued, “I know you don’t trust me Charlie, at least not yet, but if you listen to what Teagan and I say we’ll make it through this. I need you to absorb that hit for Teagan’s Pokémon for me, can you do that?” Charlie jutted forward in front of Spike and caught the thundershock head on. Sparks of electricity flowed down Charlie’s legs and were lost in the ground. “Good job Charlie, now follow it up.” Charlie ran forward and tackled the pikachu. It rolled and slid through the dust back to the trainer’s feet. The stunned boys call him back into his pokeball. Charlie then reeled back from his head on collision, stumbling back and forth almost as if he were in some sort of drunken stupor. Teagan cheered, “Great job Charlie. Let’s finish this Spike!” Spike leaned forward and shot a second barb at the lone vulpix. The barb connected and the Pokémon fell. “Well, that was certainly interesting,” the boys said as they collected their pokemon. “Good battle guys.”
Charlie walked to Will and playfully brushed along his leg. Will looked down at his new little buddy, and he felt legitimately excited. In this moment he knew that he had found something to work towards, something that would carry him far away from the hardships of his past.
“You good kiddo?” Teagan inquired.
Will smiled, “Yeah, I’m doing pretty well.”
“Well I’m glad,” she replied, taking his hand. “Cause we’ve got a long way to go.”
'Defense curl, rollout combo,' Katie thought, nodding to herself. 'Okay the kid has an idea of what he's doing, at least.' She looked to Seraphim. "Use growth again," she called out. The Roselia nodded and concentrated on increasing her power, once again causing her flowery hands to grow slightly larger. The Bibarel plowed right into her though it wasn't very strong of a hit yet, Katie knew it would get stronger and stronger as it continued and it could be dangerous later on. 'Gotta put a stop to that somehow,' she thought.
"Keep that rollout going, Bibarel," Joey shouted. "We can do this!" The beaver Pokemon grunted in agreement even as he rolled along, making a sharp turn so he could take another pass at the flowery Pokemon.
"I don't think so," Katie retorted, flipping back one of her long ponytails. "You do realize you're at a disadvantage here, right?"
"That doesn't mean anything!" Joey yelled back. "Show her, Bibarel!" The rolling Pokemon continued around and once again it landed a hit on Seraphim, this time a little stronger than before. The Roselia grunted and staggered back a bit, looking back at Katie for instruction.
"Growth one more time," Katie said coolly. Again the thorn Pokemon increased her special attacking abilities, as now her roses were giving off a rather beautiful scent. The Bibarel came around for a third hit as well, and this time Seraphim really seemed to feel it. Katie could see that Joey was looking quite confident, and she smiled. "Okay Seraphim, wait until it gets close again and douse it with stun spore!" The flower Pokemon nodded and did just that, though she was fearful of being hit another time as she knew it would take her down. The glittering golden powder rained out from her flowers, coating the beaver pokemon in a shimmering cloak of paralyzing spores, and just like that, it found itself unable to move a muscle.
"Just curious," Keegan answered, but that was all he said. Kasiya hadn't given him a definitive answer about Sinnoh, but he was pretty sure she'd already made up her mind. Themis and Helios were put back into their respective Pokeballs once they reached the Pokemon Center, and he glanced back at the girl as she chose to wait behind while he returned his dishes to the cafeteria. I guess she's just trying to be nice about it, he thought as he set the tray down on the counter. Not that I deserve it or anything, his mind went on as he started to make his way back out to the lobby. He stopped and grabbed a cherry turnover, which he devoured in two bites. He'd turned to make his way out of the cafeteria, but a lone, familiar figure sitting at a table caught his eye, and he couldn't help but stare at her. Her pale blonde hair was pulled back into a tight bun, and she wore horned-rimmed glasses. A newspaper was spread out in front of her and she was sipping a cup of black coffee. Wait, what's she doing here? he thought, eyes wide with surprise. I thought for sure she'd be wanting to keep a low profile after everything that's gone down, but no, here she is, in broad daylight. He frowned and crumpled the napkin he'd been holding into a little ball before he made his way over to her table, already feeling the rage begin to build within him.
She must have sensed that Keegan was watching her and she looked over her shoulder at him, offered a polite yet nervous smile and went back to what she was doing, only to have Keegan grab her by the shoulder and whirl her around so he was facing her a second later. "What are you doing here, Mai?" he demanded, shaking the now terrified woman. "Here to mess with your sister some more? Or are you looking for a repeat of last night? Either way, I thought for sure you would have crawled back under your sleazy rock by now."
The woman let out a frightened squeak and tried to pry the redhead's hands from her shoulders, though to no avail. "Wh-who are you? I-I don't know wh-what you're talking about!" she whimpered, starting to cry. "Leave me alone!"
"Don't play dumb with me. Your lame disguises aren't going... to... fool..." He stopped, only then getting a real good look at her, and his face went ashen as a result. "...me. Oh, s**t." He released his hold on her immediately and backed away from her, muttering an apology as he looked around for an escape route. People were staring at him now but he was plenty used to it.
"You're insane!" the woman shrieked, grabbing up her things before she fled the cafeteria.
"Yeah, I get that a lot," the redhead muttered, jamming his hands in his pockets as he headed for the first door he saw, which also happened to be an emergency exit. As soon as the door was pushed open, the fire alarm began to blare loudly, adding to the already tense situation within the Pokemon Center. Would somebody please shoot me and put me out of my misery already? he thought as he made his way through the parking lot, not caring where he ended up.
Miharu wasn't sure how long it took for the ferry to dock in Cianwood, as she'd lost track of time while gazing out at the water. She made her way down the boarding ramp, Sparkle and Petunia already ahead of her, and the two Pokemon quickly ran off down the shoreline, seemingly eager to enjoy the beach. The small girl giggled slightly and followed along after the duo, glad that all her Pokemon seemed to get along with one another. Once they'd made it a significant distance from the harbor Miharu decided to release the rest of her party and let them stretch their arms/legs/wings/other appendages and enjoy the fresh air. Lily was the first one to notice that Starrie had evolved, and the Bulbasaur circled the Starmie several times, taking in her teammate's new form. Miharu watched Lily curiously, wondering if the little diva ever planned to evolve herself. She knew Lily was easily strong enough to evolve into an Ivysaur, and possibly even a Venusaur if she wanted, but the Bulbasaur seemed to be quite content with herself for the time being, and Miharu wasn't going to push her.
Robin didn't exactly feel like heading to the docks at the moment but she realized that Ampersand might be waiting for her and she didn't really want to keep him waiting. Balancing Black*Star in her arms shifting him a bit, he seemed a lot bigger now then he had been yesterday, she headed down to the docks with Luffy leading the way. "I wish I could get some stuff at the department store..." She muttered before shrugging. "I will just have to battle some more people and win some gym battles!" Robin cheered up almost instantly as Luffy lead her down to the docks.
When she did get there she saw looked around for the familiar hat that belonged to the man. After a moment of scanning she frowned and looked down at Luffy. "Do you see Ampersand Luffy?" She asked shifting Black*Star again before deciding to just put him down, he had to many spikes to carry him right anyway. The Ambipom just propped himself up on his tails and glanced around before shaking his head, cool hat man was not there...
"Excuse me miss you wouldn't happen to be Robin Knight would you" A calm voice said from behind the redhead causing her to jump in surprise.
~~~~~~~~~

Suddenly the loud ringing that was in Dante's head started going on outside of it to. "******** really?" Dante growled as the fire alarm started to go off. "Damn it." He muttered as he decided to save himself another hour of a headache by stumbling out of the pokemon center with everyone else, Turn A floated along beside him. "Great, just great." He said leaning against the buildings wall. "I need a light." He muttered before he started fishing through his pockets he pulled out his pack and tapping one out he put it back into his pocket before fishing around for his lighter some. After a moment he found it and putting it up to the cigarette in his mouth he did his best to light it. Unfortunately it seemed like he was out of lighter fluid and he wouldn't be getting a relaxing smoke until he finished it. Growling Dante was close as close to losing his temper as he was in a long time. "Ok Turn A let's get some lighter fluid and maybe some TM's for you since the only store in this god damn city is the department store." Dante bit out before he and the man made pokemon started to make their way to the large shopping mall in the city.

When Dante stepped inside he was greeted with cool air and a bunch of friendly greetings from the staff. Taking a deep breath to calm himself he walked right past them and over to the elevator where he punched a random number on it just wanting to get away from the front sales staff. The elevator came to a stop on the third floor which just happened to sell the TM's but no lighter fluid. "I would be happier about spending money if I hadn't been cursed today." Dante grumbled before sighing and running a hand through his hair before turning to Turn A. "Apologies about my attitude right now Turn A. Let's get you a TM hmm?"

Kasiya had decided to occupy herself by taking her PokeDex out of her backpack and skimming through it, figuring that now would be a good time to read up on Keegan's new Pokemon since he wasn't there to judge her for having to use her PokeDex. Ooh, look at me, I'm so cool because I was born in Hoenn and I know all about the Hoenn Pokemonz, she thought sarcastically as she went from page to page. She quickly discovered that it would be quite a futile task to search like that, so she set the filter options to show her only green Pokemon, which narrowed down the field quite a bit. "Aha, there you are," she said, tapping the screen with her fingertip. "Treecko," she read, feeling quite proud of herself, "the Wood Gecko Pokemon. Treecko has countless spines on it's feet that allow it to effortlessly walk on walls and ceilings. It uses it's thick tail to slam foes as well as to predict the next day's weather. That's kinda cool," the girl murmured as she slipped the device into her pocket, only then becoming aware of the commotion coming from the cafeteria. "What has he done now?" she mumbled half-jokingly to herself, though her expression became serious when she was passed by a couple of girls talking between themselves about a 'crazy psychopath with red hair that was trying to murder some helpless woman.' I'm not supposed to be right about these things, she thought worriedly.

By the time she'd stepped through the cafeteria doors the fire alarm had gone off, and as she looked around for the source she saw that the emergency fire exit's doors were swinging shut, and there was no sign of Keegan anywhere. She stood there, in the center of the cafeteria, eyes wide as the alarm blared loudly overhead, unable to comprehend what possibly could have just happened as panicking people ran amok all around her. It wasn't until someone disabled the alarm that Kasiya snapped out of her trance and looked around, grabbing the arm of the first person she saw. "What happened?" she demanded.

"I dunno, I didn't see it myself, but people are saying that some redheaded guy started attacking this blonde chick for no reason, and then when they tried to stop him he set off the alarm and ran out the fire doors." Though not completely satisfied with that answer Kasiya released the guy's arm and looked towards the door. She wasn't sure but she thought it might lead to the parking lot. What the hell is wrong with him all of a sudden? she thought grumpily as she went the long way back outside, knowing that the only way she'd find out for sure what happened was to get it straight from the source.

Jaeshan chuckled a little as he watched Riza and Kenneth's antics, as apparently they both were pretty good at annoying Crenu, and he couldn't help but feeling a little out of place. "Yep, it was a tough match, but I got my Knuckle Badge," he answered, turning to Crenu. "And yes, I got on the wrong ferry. I was actually hoping to head to Mauville City for my third Hoenn badge, but as you can see that won't be happening anytime soon." He looked over at Kenneth, surprised that he'd known of the Summers' breeding ranch. "They are pretty amazing breeders," he admitted. "I've gotten a Pokemon from them, myself." He watched the attention-hungry Snorunt get recalled into her ball, and he folded his arms, deciding not to mention it. He'd babied Blaziken plenty when she'd been a young Torchic and she'd turned out to be one of the toughest Pokemon he'd ever known. Talk about tough love, he thought idly.

The blonde glanced over at Riza next as Crenu directed his next set of questions at her, and he couldn't help but smirk a little. For someone who's pretending not to care, he sure cares an awful lot, he thought, deciding to let Riza answer for herself, namely because he didn't know what had happened once he'd given Keegan the Fly HM either, since he'd gone down to the harbor and took the ferry to Dewford like Crenu had.

It took only a few short minutes for Keegan to put considerable distance between himself and the Pokemon Center, though it came with the downside of discovering that he had no cigarettes left, and after the little fiasco back at the center he was in dire need of one. He knew that it probably would have been best for him to go and find the Lilycove Department store as he'd be able to buy a few packs pretty cheap, but the last thing he wanted to do was give himself another opportunity to make an a** out of himself in front of a large crowd so instead he opted to pay a little bit extra by simply buying them at a local mom and pop convenience store. He ignored the friendly old couple's greeting as he asked for what he wanted, showed them his ID and paid, muttering to himself the entire time. He didn't relax until he got outside again, cigarette already in hand and ready to be lit as he toyed with his lighter, inhaling deeply and sighing as the nicotine rushed eagerly into his system. Much better, the surly redhead thought as he plodded along, spotting a vacant bench along the sidewalk, and he made his way over to it.

He dumped his backpack on the ground and lied down on the bench, using one arm to cushion his head while the other hand flicked the burnt ash from the end of his cigarette, and every now and then he'd take a long drag, trying to pretend like the world wasn't going to hell in a hand-basket all around him. He finished the smoke faster than he normally would and tossed it into the gutter nearby, putting his other arm under his head as well and closing his eyes. Almost instantly he could see Mai's catlike grin, her icy blue eyes seemingly burning with a cold, yet hungry fire as she came toward him, and though he tried he couldn't banish her or the fresh memory of last night from his thoughts. He remembered Kasiya's pained expression of having Shocker stolen from her, and he felt a rush of anger for not handling the situation better. Had he been the first to awaken this morning he probably could have gotten the electric mouse back for her, and he kept replaying the night's events in his mind, always with the same result. They're right, he thought, stomach in knots. I am weak. I am pathetic.

In the meantime, the crafty little Treecko that Keegan recently acquired had just discovered how to get out of his Pokeball, and he appeared in a small flash of light on the pavement, glancing around excitedly in his new-found freedom. The gecko glanced up at his trainer, wondering what he was doing sleeping already. It was still morning, after all! Pan crept closer and stood only inches away from Keegan's face, though when he got no response the gecko frowned and shook his head. Fun indeed, he thought as he looked around for something interesting.

It didn't take long for Miharu and her Pokemon to change gears from playtime to training time, and they eagerly paired up to await their turns. She'd decided that Sparkle and Aska would go first, since the Flaaffy had a bit of an advantage over the Pidgeotto due to type. Neither of the two Pokemon seemed to object, and both took their positions quite eagerly, looking to their green-haired trainer for their first set of commands. "Sparkle, Cotton Spore," Miharu said finally, and without hesitation the pink Pokemon took a few steps forward and loosed a cloud of puffy white spores towards the bird Pokemon. For the most part Aska just stood there as the spores floated towards her, though when she glanced at Miharu, the girl nodded. With a cry, the Pidgeotto began to flap her wings, whipping up a Whirlwind that quickly pulled all the fluffy spores into it's vortex. She then sent it forward, pushing Sparkle's Cotton Spores right back at her.

Nicely done, Miharu thought, nodding. She was quite proud of just how well both of them were coming along, though she did know that she needed to expand upon Sparkle's move options. The Flaaffy really had to move it in order to dodge her own Cotton Spore, but there were just too many of them, and many clusters of the white fluff stuck to her, slowing her down quite a bit.

Sere and George made their way down stairs and into the kitchen. Serenity opened the door to the yard for George so he could go eat with the other Pokémon, and get ready to say his goodbyes. Alex was already awake and making breakfast.

“Good morning.” Alex said. She flipped on of the eggs in the frying pan.

“Morning. I didn’t think you would be awake so soon.” Serenity said. She went to the stainless steel fridge and pulled out the large jug of orange juice. Not feeling the need for a glass she opened the lid and then chugged down a good portion.

“I had enough sleep. I wasn’t out too late after you left.” Alex began plating breakfast. “I was home soon enough to find you passed on out on ground next to the pokemon outside.” Alex smiled at her younger sister.
Serenity grabbed the plate and stuck out her tongue. “I was tired.” It seemed as though she was a bit hungry as well, since she ate everything that Alex had put on her plate. Her stomach rumbled when she was done to let her know that she could eat some more. Definitely a different tone then the day before.

“Anything good happen at the Gala? Meet anyone interesting.” Serenity asked as she got up to get more hash browns.
Alex nodded. “Yeah, maybe.” She smiled at her younger sister.

“What does that smile mean exactly?”

“It means that I met someone very helpful.” Alex saw the look on Sere’s face and giggled. “Not in that way you perv. I was looking for a specific Pokémon and...” She reached under the table and pulled out a pokeball. “...He had it.”

Sere stared at the pokeball. She was more than curious to know what was inside and what her sister did to get it in the first place. However, her stomach was still demanding more attention. She reminded herself to eat more when she went over to Sinnoh.

“Well don’t you want to know what’s in it?” Her sister asked. Alex was holding up the pokeball offering it to Sere.

“I kinda want to know why and how you got it first.” Sere said.

“I called in a favour. An old friend of mine breeds them. It was no cost.”

“You called in a favour?”

Alex sighed. “I wanted to get you something before you left. A little insurance on my part.” She offered the ball again to her sister. “Go on. I wanna see your face.”

Sere smiled. She put her plate down on the counter and took the ball from her sister. Just as she was about to open it Alex jumped from her seat. “Hold it. On second thought, lets open it outside.” She said with a giggle. Serenity just looked at her confused, but allowed herself to be led outside.
PostPosted: Mon Oct 26, 2009 4:22 pm

“Alright, now hit the button.” Alex poked Sere hard in the side the moment she got outside. Serenity turned and growled at her sister. “Oh enough, just do it.”

Serenity felt the need for some reason to hold the pokeball in both of her hands as she pressed the release button. In shimmering blue light a beautiful but very large pokemon appeared. Serenity couldn’t help but stare at it.

“Enough already. Go up to her.” Alex nudged, rather pushed her sister in the direction of the pokemon.

Sere wasn’t scared really, more just intimidated. The Lapras was huge. She ran her considerably dwarfed hand over the cool scales on the pokemons body, and over it’s hard back shell. Just as she was about to step around, the pokemon used it’s large fin to hoist her up on it’s shell. Serenity giggled. She leaned in and hugged the Lapras’s neck.

“You are something that awesome was made out of.” She whispered in it’s ear.

“Laprrrrrasss.” It said in reply. Sere was sure that it was smiling at her.
Serenity, still hugging the neck of the pokemon looked up at her sister.

“She’s mine? Really? Really really?”

Alex nodded and laughed. “Yes really. I named her Bryny. I hope you don’t mind.”

Sere nuzzled in. “Nope, unless she minds?”

“La-lapras.” The pokemon nuzzled back.

“I guess she doesn’t.” Sere giggled.

Riza looked over at Jaeshan curiously. He'd gotten a Pokemon from the Summers' ranch, as well? She couldn't help but wonder what, though she decided not to pry into it right now. "Yeah, I'm aware of that," she nodded, looking down at Snorunt as the cute little ice-type had started prodding her leg. Before she could react Kenneth had picked her up, and only a few moments after that Crenu had put her back into her poke ball. "You're the one who should be careful, Shiro," she said, shaking her head. "You don't want that sweet little Snorunt growing up to be like you." Though she meant what she said there was still a hint of playfulness in her voice, as she wasn't trying to insult him.

She looked back over at Jaeshan as Crenu asked more questions, and she couldn't help but chuckle. "Since when do you care so much, anyway?" Riza asked, but she decided to answer anyway. "After you left for Dewford we went to Lilycove for the breeder's ball. Keegan had an extra ticket and he invited me to go along with him, as a friend," she explained, being sure to emphasize the last part to reassure Crenu. "You should have seen some of the outfits people were wearing last night, it was just horrible, like some circus freak show on display. But anyway, it turns out his crazy girlfriend was working there, you know, the one with the Bayleef and the Marshtomp and the baby Charmander? Well, she just started screaming at him for no apparent reason, calling him all sorts of names and things, and then she storms out. I don't know what's up with those two, but they definitely need a good shrink." She shook her head disapprovingly as she spoke, remembering how much the two of them had embarrassed not only her, but Serenity and Sam as well. Sure, it wasn't an exact version of what had went on last night, but it was close enough for her, at the very least.

Katie breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Bibarel come to a complete stop, and so did Seraphim. Paralysis didn't always kick in 100% right away but this time they'd got lucky. "Now Seraphim! Take back your stamina with absorb!" Katie called. She knew it wasn't the strongest of moves but it wasn't just the only grass-type move the Roselia knew, but it was also the only special move as well. The flowery Pokemon reached out with her large, flower hands, the thorns on her arms extending into small vines that wrapped around the paralyzed Bibarel. She let out a cry and began to leech the energy away from her opponent, feeling the relief almost instantly. The boost from all the growths used by Seraphim had helped as well, and she knew she'd dealt the beaver Pokemon some serious damage.

"Oh man," Joey cried as his Bibarel jumped to his feel, reeling from the hit. "Was that a critical hit or something?"

"No, genius," Katie answered, shaking her head. "Raising a Pokemon's special attack power means that a single hit is that much more powerful. Seraphim, absorb again!"

"I know that!" Joey shouted angrily. "Bibarel use your water gun to try and deflect it!" The beaver Pokemon nodded and released a strong blast of water that struck Seraphim square in the chest, knocking the Roselia flat on her back. "Now that's a critical hit," Joey said mockingly as the now soaked thorn Pokemon pulled herself back up to her feet.

Sam pretended to dance to a song only she could here.

"Well lessee here..." she said as she twirled around. "Okay so here goes. I was in Vermillion right? Ya, you heard that whole story. So then we decide to head to Saffron, so I can catch a train and Orion could attend to some business, not sure what exactly."

"Orion? The boy from the article?"

"Mmhmm, that one," Sam said darkly. Her face brightened again, "Anyways, so we decide, hey he's got an extra ticket to the Gala, why not go? So we both hop on over to Slateport, and from there Lilycove. We had a few battles along the way and such. I bought my dress and got ready in our hotel room. So when we arrived at the Gala-"

"That's it?"

"Uh well yeah. What was I supposed to say? 'Oh yeah, I'm actually a cannibalistic serial killer, and we both enjoyed murdering two people in Saffron and eating their brains' Not likely." Jenny looked startled. She brought a newspaper out, raising an eyebrow.

"You got the city right, but not the cannibalism or serial part" she said, as she opened to a page. The headline read, "MURDER IN SAFFRON CITY LEAVES POLICE BAFFLED"

"Ey! I was just joking! You know that!" Sam shook her head at her stupidity. "Can we just continue on?" Jenny glared, but acquiesced. "Anyways, so I got to the Gala. Much too crowded and fancy for my liking, but I met some nice people anyways. Riza, Keegan, Serenity...Oh and of course Mr. Kuljis. But I find out Orion had stolen my Xanax and OD'ed on it. What an idiot. So I shouted at him, slapped him, and then ignored him. When Star got in trouble, I ran to go get her. But I had a dizzy spell and swayed. The stupid guard thought I was a drunk and threw me out. He ignored me when I asked him to get the egg. So I had to get it myself. There's my story. Ya happy now?"

"No, I'm not. You didn't think to call an ambulance for Orion?"

"No, I was a little upset and not thinking clearly. You did hear me say I slapped him right?"

"Yes, I heard. By the way, he wants to press charges of assault." Sam tried to hold her temper in check.

"Really? So in one day, I've gotten charges of assault, illegal distrubution of controlled substances, thievery...who knows what else? Trespassing?"

"Xanax isn't a controlled substance."

"Does it matter? It's certainly a good piece of evidence."

Eztli hopped on the train. It would take her to Saffron, and from there she had to walk to Fuschia. She fell asleep, and her dreams were of the forest, a lonely gravestone, and a Pokemon skull. She awoke suddenly to the announcement of the train arriving. 'That was fast,' she thought, stretching like a cat. She stepped onto the platform of the huge train station. It was going to be a very long walk to Fuschia unless she could somehow catch a ride...She sighed. No luck. She began the long walk to Fuschia, heading towards Lavender Town. She knew that her mother's official gravestone would be there, and she knew she couldn't go to Cycling Road without a bicycle. As she headed down Route 8, she wished she were invisible. She just wanted to find her mother, and not get into any battles. Luckily Route 8 was extremely short, and soon the Radio Tower loomed in the distance. She walked through the eerily quiet town, towards the Soul House. An old man stood guard at the door. She bowed to him.

"Excuse me sir," she said quietly. "I was wondering if I could perhaps see my mother's grave." His gaze was soft.

"Of course, child. What was her name?"

"Atzi. Atzi Malinal." The man closed his eyes.

"Ah yes, I know the way. Follow me." He led her inside, through subterranean chambers, stopping before one. "In here, you'll find your mother's grave amongst a dozen others. My condolences." He turned heel to proceed back to the entrance. Eztli took a deep breath and entered the dark chamber. She walked among the dark headstones, finally finding the one she was looking for. Because it was only the official marker, it simply read "ATZI MALINAL" and the her date of birth and date of death. 'My birthday....' Eztli thought sadly. She kneeled before the grave. Eztli had imagined this moment since she had known her mother was here, but had not known what she would do. There was nothing she could do. She merely kneeled there, letting emotions wash over her.

"Mom..." she whispered. "It's me, your daughter Eztli. I've finally found you. I'm going on my own Pokemon Journey. And I'm going to find Mixcoatl. And Daddy." Her voice hitched. What if Mix and her father were buried here too? "I hope....I hope you are enjoying yourself in whatever heaven you may be in." She bowed her head. "I love you..." She cried freely. There was silence....except for an odd sniffling that did not come from her. She looked up. A shadow was thrown on the wall. A skull shape...Eztli fell back. She looked around the headstone. A little Cubone was sitting against her mom's gravestone, crying and making the skull it wore rattle eerily.

"Cuuu...Bone!" It buried it's head in it's arms, still holding the bone it always carried around. Eztli crawled around and sat in front of it.

"Hello. I'm Eztli." It looked up, and cocked it's head.

"Bone?"

"Lost your Mom too?" It nodded. "We're alike then..." She sighed, and wiped the tears from her face. She scooped up the little pokemon. "Let's get you out of here. You must be so lost and confused." As they emerged into the sunlight, the man guarding the door didn't seem at all surprised to see the Cubone.

"They sneak in all the time. They are much like us, mourning their lost mothers." Eztli nodded, and set the Cubone down.

"Now run along. I'm sure you can find your way now." Eztli started to walk away, but she felt a tug on her sock. She looked back. The Cubone was holding onto it, it's eyes shut tight.

"B-b-booonnee," it whined. Eztli gazed for a long time, then picked it up again.

"Want to come with me?" The Cubone nodded happily. Eztli smiled bitterly.It wasn't the most opportune way to gain another ally, but they had a kinship. Eztli couldn't abandon him now.

"Okay...you can come." It cooed happily, making the skull rattle again.

"I'm going to name you Zolin," she said, half to herself. Zolin nodded in agreement.

Crenu just took a drag from his smoke and turned his head at Riza's comment about Snorunt. "Hmph, one can only hope. Nothing wrong with being calm and collected." What exactly did she mean by that anyway? Crenu didn't see anything wrong with how he was, though the way she said it almost made it seem like she was just messing with him. The whole things made it difficult to know what exactly was going on in her head, which was kinda frustrating. But she didn't seem to mean any harm by it, so he left it at that.

Kenneth, who had pried his attention away from the two young trainers, noticed Jaeshan standing there and probably feeling a bit at odds right now. So he walked over to him with a smile. "He he he, don't mind Shiro's words. He's just a bit rough around the edges." He looked back at Crenu who had shot him a killer look and turned back to Jaeshan. "A-anyway, you must tell me more about yourself Mr. Devereaux, you strike me as a rather accomplished trainer. You've got that air of experience about you that is just oh so intriguing! Have you been a trainer for long? I'm sure you've got plenty of good tales yes?" This wasn't just a diversionary tactic, Ken was legitimately interested in finding out any and everything about trainers he met along his travels.

"I don't care. I'm just...curious." Crenu watched Ken out of the corner of his eye, always so nosy that one. He sighed, turning his attention back on Riza as she began to tell him about the events after his departure. "I take it you wore something a bit less 'horrible'?" He asked casually. He was already in this situation and conversing, no point in fighting it. Besides, he didn't dislike Riza's company. Though he didn't think it was necessary of her to stress the fact that Keegan had invited her as a friend, it did make him feel a little more at ease. Though he'd never admit it, not even to himself. He did enjoy the rest of the tale though, and found it rather entertaining. He smirked a bit as he finished off his cigarette and tossed it away randomly. "Heh, hard to imagine him ticking anyone off. He seemed like such a friendly fellow." He added sarcastically, though a thought suddenly occurred to him. Wait a second...Marshtomp? Baby Charmander? It couldn't be. Kasiya? Was yet another one of the people he'd met somehow tied into this web of contacts that seemed to bind everyone together? Now that he thought back on the event, he did notice her with the group that had been dealing with the man in the orange suit. So bizarre, the coincidences could drive a man into insanity. But Crenu kept his mind at ease and pushed the thoughts away, dwelling on conspiracy theories was never good. "Well, at least you got an interesting pokemon out of it. I thought you had him with that Extrasensory, but that Aqua Jet or whatever it was was unexpected."

Going over to counter Dante waited for the person to notice him, he knew exactly what he was going to get and he didn't need to look over anything else. Glancing down at Turn A he hoped that the TM's he was about to get him would make up for his attitude these past few days. Glancing back he frowned slightly as there still wasn't someone helping him. What was with this, no one was around when he wanted help and they were around when he didn't want help. Sighing he tapped the small bell on the counter and waited another long moment before someone stumbled out from behind the boxes.

"Oh man hello. Sorry about that, I was moving some stuff around in the back. What can I get for you?" The man from behind the counter asked the annoyed young man in front of him.

"Yeah, yeah, can you get me two Ice Beam TM's and a Psychic TM." Dante asked feeling somewhat annoyed. Wanting to see what was happening Turn A floated up towards the counter and landed on it soundlessly as the cashier rummaged through the TM box. Dante just glanced over at Turn A and was about to say something before a happy cry came from behind the counter.

"A Porygon! Oh wow you must be getting those TM's for that competition! Your gunna be late if you don't hurry up though." The man said excitedly as he placed the three TM's on the counter and examined Turn A closely. "Man this Porygon is in really good shape. I bet he would be a really strong Porygon 2 if you win that Upgrade."

Dante who hadn't cared about the competion thing when the other had first mentioned it perked up at the sound of that. An Upgrade was on the line? Those were rare and that would be a good way to get his hands on them. "Ah yeah, I still need to sign up though so if you could ring me up for those and direct me to where the competition is going to be I would appreciate it." Dante cut into his examination of Turn A.

"Oh wow you haven't signed in yet! Yeah its really close though just a bit down the street from here. Your total for the three TM's is 9500."

Dante quickly handed over the money and took the three disks from the other. "Come on Turn A we need to go and win that Upgrade for you." He muttered as he paid for the TM's and then quickly left his Porygon floating right behind him.

Forgetting his lighter fluid for now Dante headed down the stairs since they were a bit faster and left the building the thought of an Upgrade in his mind. The man behind the counter hadn't been lying when he said it was nearby. Dante quickly went up to the small table that was there and signed his name down on the sheet making him the last person to enter.

Since he had made it in time Dante decided that now would be a good time to use those TM's he had just got so he could use them in the upcoming battles. "Turn A come here." He muttered as he took out one of the Ice Beams and the Psychic TM. Patiently he placed each disk on the electronic pokemon's head he watched as they were absorbed as well as the knowledge they contained. Not wanting to give away any of his other pokemon to the others he just placed the other Ice Beam on Xanon's ball and taught it to him that way. Dante finished just in time as the whistle was blown to get this competition started.

"All right everyone! We are ready to start the battle for the Upgrade! There will be three rounds of one on one battles. If you win your battle you move on, if you lose your battle your out! All right let me announce who you will be going against first. We have four battling arena's so I will assign you a number and you will go to that one." A woman standing on a box yelled at the crowd. Then with that settled she started calling out names and numbers. Dante was a bit surprised to find out he was on field 1. Shrugging it off though he headed over to the field and waited as his partner made it there to.

"Aw man I have to fight a girl? I hate fighting girls! There is no challenge in it!" Came an annoying voice from behind Dante.

Frowning Dante hoped the other one wasn't calling him a girl, because he was sick of that. Glancing back he spotted a teen dressed in baggy pants and a wife beater coming up to the field. "I assume you are the one I am battling?"

The teen laughed at Dante before coming over and standing over him taller then Dante. "If you can call it a battle little girl. I will wipe the floor with you. Girls like you shouldn't even be trainers." The other said confidently. "If you are lucky I will let you go out on a date with me after you lose." He said as he walked to the other side of the field.

At the others words Dante felt his headache which had been fading spike back up as his anger grew at the other. Honestly he didn't look that much like a girl! Ok so maybe the jewelry wasn't exactly manly but he didn't exactly get a choice about wearing it! Cursing his mother for giving him her looks he decided that he would just demolish this arrogant man, he wouldn't use Apollo though, he had to save the powerful Rapidash for the last round. "Xanon. Please trash this jerk." He muttered as he tossed out the Baltoy's pokeball. The small top appeared with a flash and spun around on the ground.

"A Baltoy? Ha I figured you would have a doll pokemon. Let me show you a real pokemon! Machoke let's do this thing!" The other grinned as he tossed out his pokeball to reveal the muscle bound fighting pokemon.

"Round one start!" The lady on the box shouted as she announced the start of the battle tournament.
