Wow Tonas a good riddle. Quite frustrating, though my line of thinking is that it could be many things. What's worse I think I have heard this one, (but I probably read it somewhere...) and just don't remember.
Well riddling with dragons actually is one of the hardest things in the world. EDIT: It was secrets... I do believe this one is fire. When you light it, it brings light and pushes back the dark. It can dance in the wind but if there is too much it will blow out. Without a fire there would be only the dark. and it is a simple thing that can be used to fight. (I remebered the trolls) If not my bad.

fairly sure its something along those lines.
Starting a fire brings light and beats back darkness, and darkness takes over when it is gone. when exposed to wind it can stay burning for a bit but not for too long or too strong of a wind, and of course, as the saying goes "fight fire with fire"

'I arrive without being summoned.
I am never late, though often I am hidden by those beneath me.
As darkness sets in, I allow all to see.
I dance and shine, never behind.
I am here to guide you to your heart's desire, or simply admire.'"
The dragon statue patiently resumed its stare and almost smile __________________________________________
Hmmm I'm fairly sure I got this one, it seems to be stars

Damn, I mean DAMN, you guys got all 3 within 1-2 days of it being posted.
I'll have to find better ones if I decide to make more challenges like that.
Great job.

All three are pseudo-riddles from the Arcane Asylum zone in Baldur's Gate II
There were a good bit of others, but I didn't remember enough of them to go on so, I may dig deeper next time.

Hmm I never got to the Asylum.
Mostly because Windows Vista basically breaks whenever I tried to play BGII, I got as far as getting the money to rescue Imoen (and, at the same time, not having to spend any of it) on my previous attempts before my brother ended up getting a PC that required a reformat roughly every 2 weeks.

So, anyone else played Dragon Age Origins for the 360 yet? I'm being reminded of this Rp while playing it through. It has a very similair setup. Many fights, few riddles here and there.... cool stuff.

wanted to get it but after pulling out Oblivion again and giving it a serious, "no duplication, find every dungeon, outfit myself from drops and chest loots and master all disciplines including hand to hand" shot I figure I have a few more weeks of it.
Training restoration is difficult >_>
Anyhow I was looking for something a bit less traditional, I'm extremely excited about FF13 because I love the futuristic backdrop along with magic and summons it gives old school role playing a fresh twist (While at the same time spitting in the face of every Console Fanboy out there)
Then as well there's Borderlands which is RPS fun on a stick, after Fallout 3 I feel like something with weapon variety would be great, along with that I've been meaning to pick up Tales of Vesperia because I've consistently enjoyed the "Tales of" series since the Playstation 1 and my discovery of emulators. (aside from Tales of Legendia, 3D characters battling on a 2D background was sloppy)

dont know if we ever dealt with this, but can we peg down exactly which races are capable of low-light and dark vision? I have been playing Tjaden without it cause it isnt listed in the Orc's abilities on the race page.

It's been mentioned here and there, never really outlined though.
Elves have full infra-vision, capable of seeing in the dark just as plain as day. Halflings and Dwarves have partial infra-vision, able to see dimly lit areas clearly. Humans and orcs have no night vision without magical aid or the aid of torches.

Interesting, this is the first D&D adaptation I've heard of elves being able to see in the dark, sure Dark elves could but normal elves?
Okay sure I'll take every advantage I can get! twisted
BTW Origins is BA(bada**)) I love the hermit in the forest level, so freaking fun... and damn hard to kill... its easier to trick him... To bad I can't play anymore of it...
I borrowed the game for like a week after it came out because a friend was having Xbox problems... he got a new on...
Oh well Left 4 Dead 2 came out and I'm happy. mrgreen
