Dusk twitched, her eyes getting darker. "Stop calling me elf!" There was a two second period where she wanted to rip his head off and watch the blood flow, but quickly she went back to the kid that her facade made her seem to be. "And, it's not magic. If I did something to acquire it, it would be magic." Dusk shrugged. "But I didn't. It's like you flying and calling it magic. It's not, it's just something that you can do."

Kyoshi rolled his eyes. He took out his Kiseru and lit it. The smooth scent of vanilla tainted the air lightly. He then tucked his arms inside his sleeves, looking like a wise sage or just totally bada**. A few bypassers looked his way and were either freaked out by the menacing presense he had or it was because he was damn good-looking. He had gotten a few females of the streets looking in his direction, some were actually following them. They didn't seem to notice Dusk. Kyoshi had a look that would have scared the makeup off there faces but these women loved the bad boys that were untouchable.

Dusk looked around. "Huh...looks like the Old Man has a fan club..." She grinned as a few of the girls looked at him, trying to figure out what she meant by Old Man. A few of them even backed off. Snickering, Dusk grabbed his sleeve, pulling him into the store. "C'mon Old Man, lets get you a better couch."
The remaining girls stopped following him, finally noticing Dusk.
"Is that his kid?" "Hmm, a handsome man would be one to have the pretty of a child." "But the way she's talking to him..." "Could be her grandfather..." "He doesn't look it though..."
Dusk bursts out laughing, hearing their conversation, and knowing that Kyoshi did too. "Well then...looks like people think we're related..." She smiled, but not at the annoyance she knew she was causing Kyoshi.
Dusk had been called pretty.

Kyoshi growled lowly in his throat threatening. He had wished to fall from the sky so that the impacted would render him dead from what he had just experience. He quickly looked over at the couches and pointed to one without saying a word. It was black and leather. It was like his old one except more comfy. "What do you think?" The store manager said looking nervou at the sight of Kyoshi.

Dusk smiled, "Can I lay on it?" The store manager looked much better after noticing Dusk. If there was a kid with him, the man couldn't be all bad. Just scary looking. "Sure thing miss!" Dusk flopped down in it, spread out, comfortable. "How much is it?"
"Oh, quite cheap actually...only a small amount of $700. A few more dollars for shipping and handling." Dusk's eyes widened in mock surprise. The man was right, for this couch in this area, that was cheap. But...she wasn't going to let him know that. Looking sheepish, she shook her head. "Hmm, it is a nice couch but..." She looked out one of the windows. "Gerald's had a nice couch. It's not as nice, but it's a few hundred cheaper..." She grabbed Kyoshi. Walking a few steps, she muttered. "Three...Two..."
"Wait! Miss!" The manager stepped in front of her. "This couch? The black one?" She nodded. "Oh! I thought you wanted this white one! My bad! You see, that black one is only $300." "And for shipping?" "It has no price!" She smiled innocently. "Hear that? Can we get it?"
300 was cheap for that nice of a couch. Dusk was a thief even when she didn't do any work.

Kyoshi looked at her surprised. He nodded to her question and the store manager went back to fill out the paper work. He couldn't keep his eyes off her. "That was..." He narrowed his eyes. "I would have bought it no matter the cost." He wasn't that mad but it still....he wasn't an old man. It was no wonder he sucked when it came with women. Rolling his eyes he looked around, quietly.

Dusk looked a little hurt. "I know...but....why waste $700 when you can get it $400 cheaper?" She was only trying to help... this was just who she was. If she could get the price down, she did. If she couldn't she just stole it. Most of the time she skipped the trying part.
The man came back with a smile. "Here you all are! Just sign this and we'll get the couch to you in a week." Dusk pouted. "Really?" The man looked at her, a blush going on his cheek. This girl was a good charmer. "Did I say one week? I meant a few hours...um....it normally costs more for that, but we're having a sale." He smiled when Dusk looked happier.
"Thank you all for your business, and I hope to see you again." He looked at Dusk the whole time. Creeper... She thought, but all the girl did was smile. "Thank you!" And she dragged Kyoshi out. "Ew...I believe I was just hit on..."

"I think so too." He put his Kiseru away and started to back in, his killer instincts kicked in and telling him to go and do away with the likes of him. He didn't like people like the store manager or the grocrey guy or anyone because they all were weirdos. Weirdos who did bad things to others because it makes them feel powerful and in control. Because they wanted to make someone feel there anguish and feed off there fear. Because...because....his eyes glazed over with a haunted expressiona and a past that no one should have to live rewinded in his mind.

Dusk poked Kyoshi in the forehead. "Hey, I'll be fine. I can take care of myself more than you think I can, Old Man." She had seen a few girl look at Kyoshi, and she didn't like it. Dusk told herself that it was because she wanted to bug Kyoshi, but...maybe not.

Kyoshi flared his nostrils in a warning manner. Then grabbed Dusk by the wrist and dragged her along the sidewalk where even hungrier looking females still followed. "Stop calling me an Old Man in public." He gritted out. He was overreacting and he needed to learn to chill. She was capable of more than just a few magic tricks he thought but he still had to at least protect her like she promised.

Dusk flinched, but she knew that the hard grip wasn't just for calling him an old man. Why is he so serious about this? She thought. I can handle myself... "Kyoshi!" She scratched at his hand, forcing him to let her go, but continued to walk by him. "Dude, chill out. I'll stop calling you that in public, but when it concerns lecherous old men, I'm used to it. I can handle myself, y'know." She rubbed her wrist, but gave him a hard look.
"I'm not the kid you seem so intent on believing I am. So, please. Don't call me elf, don't call me kid, or magic girl. Either call me Dusk or find some other name that you and I can both agree on. But mainly." She sighed. "Stop treating me like a kid." Dusk wasn't whining, she was speaking in a perfectly reasonable tone, acting her age, finally.

Kyoshi stopped. He turned and towered over Dusk. "Treat you like a kid? If I was going to treat you like a kid, I would have thrown your bratty a** into a damn corner until you learned some manners." Speaking the honest truth as he towered over her some more, using his extra five inches against her. "Your just going to have to deal with the fact that I am the way I am." He turned away from her fuming. If only she knew what it was like. It was hard to deal with it, even at his age. It had been the worst so no amount of pain you dealt on him the emotional scars would always be there and they would never heal, unlike his physical scars that were like battle trophies for him. No he stalked away. A female who was near by pounced on him like a predator and began to whisper in his ears. His temper went sky high as she was rubbing his arms.

Dusk twitched. "Yo, back off ya skank." The fiery look in her eyes made the woman's eyes widen and she immediately backed off. "If you're not treating me like a child, than what are you treating me like? It sure as hell isn't the same as you treated people who look your age." Dusk's arms were crossed. This was the thing she hated about who she was. If she wanted to, she could go to the form that shows her age, the one that would make her look like a 24 year old, but if she did that, it was obvious that she was a hybrid. At least like this, it was easier to mask her other self, making it to where even Angels and pure blood Demons couldn't tell what she was other than elf.
"If I'm stuck with you, stop treating me like someone below you. I'm not under you, Kyoshi. I'm not above you, but you're not above me. And, your height isn't intimidating, I lived with Zaine and you two are the same height."

"Below me? Below me?" A bitter laugh escaped him. "If the world wasn't how it is today you would be below me. But those days have died just like that person and everyone else afterwards. I'm treating you like I treat everyone else." He glared at her and walked off. The female pouted as he was walking away. "You like punk, that could have been my lunch and dinner there and you scared him away." She crossed her arms over her generous chest. "Stupid little girl."

Dusk glared, shadows whipping at the woman's feet. "And you could get the same amount of money by getting a real job. Go work at a strip bar, I don't care." Walking quickly she caught up with him. "This isn't how you treated Zaine."
