dragonhealer Lilly felt cold, and dead inside, the words did not seem to hurt they just washed over her. She felt alone. and knew that if she acted the way she felt she would lose john's friendship. "Yes that was cold of me. I don't have an excuse and I don't think I can do anything to make it better." She tried to sound sincere but was failing. "But, I don't know that woman and she does not know me, so she should not act like she knows what I'm going though." She blinked and looked up at the nurse. "I'm just as okay as the last time you were here, can we take out the I.V. now?" She raised her wrist with the needle in it and sighed. "You could listen to her and just do what she says Lilly." he said and sighed. John took a seat next to her on the bed,"That's true that you both dont know each other, but..." he paused,"why don't you let her try to know you?" he asked, John wondered why she was all defensive but brushed it off, Lilly was in a tough situation and was probably frustrated,"No. We can't take it out yet you goofus." he said and messed up her hair, John wanted to try and lighten the mood. He still liked Lilly a whole bunch and was hoping that he wasn't ruining it all with this.

Lilly looked up at the doctor and sighed. "I'm very sorry." She did not sound very sorry, but she also did not sound bratty. She tugged the blanket up to her chin and looked down at the lump that was her toes. "I'm feeling better the so I don't see why we should have to keep it in." She glanced over at John and smiled slightly. "Okay?”

"Because they didn't say you could take it out and yeah.. that stuff." John said finishing his sentence with the usual 'stuff' line that he said when he couldn't think of any other reason to give someone. John sat on the side of the bed and stayed still, he really wasnt sure what to do at the moment so he just took Lilly's hand with his.

Lauri sighed. That simple apology would have to do. She rolled her eyes. "No, dear. You may feel fine, but that IV is pumping important and much needed vitamins into your body. It needs to stay in, just like the last time you asked." She joked a little.
"If you'lll excuse me," Said Mandi, "I have other patients to see." She walked out of the room. Lauri let her go, knowing that nothing more could be done for Lilly at this point in time.
Suddenly, Lauri's pager began to buzz. She looked at it and went stiff. "S**t" She swore under her breath. "I've gotta go."
A code could be heard over the PA system "Code White to 505 East. Code White to 505 East." Called an official-sounding voice.
Lauri quickly turned on her heels and headed to the place of the emergency: Next door. Something was wrong with Jacob Lorring. She shut the door, hoping to shield Lilly and John from the commotion that would be happening. As she walked out of the room, Two other nurses rushed past with medical carts.
(((Code White is the Pediatric equivelant of a Code Blue)))

Lilly sat up quickly and glanced around. "What's that mean? What's wrong?" She took the monitor thingy off her finger and tried to figure out how to push her IV holder over to the door. She got out of bed and glanced at John, "Get in there and figure out what's happening." She instructed, looking panicked. She managed to figure out how to get the holder stand to roll and pushed it over to the door.

John looked around, he didnt fully understand everything that was going on. He got up and followed Lilly to the door and looked out in the hall with her,"I dont know whats going on... But it seems as though all the attention is in on Jacob." he said worried about what was happening.
