Aras was surprised when Rhea picked her up, but she slipped her arms around his neck and held on to help him so that she wouldn't be as hard to carry.
"Where are we going?" she asked him as soon as they were out of sight of the others.
Armus grimaced and put her hands on Kanis's shoulders gently so that she could hold the girl down in case she began to struggle.
"Easy," she breathed quietly. "Just relax ... you're going to be all right ..."
Corrah's stomach churned at the thought of causing the poor girl more pain, but he knew that it was necessary.
"I must," he told her softly, "so that it can heal ... I am sorry ... I should have taught you to block before putting your brother against you ... I should have known that he would go too far ..."
He made sure that Armus was holding her down so that she couldn't move, then took the two parts of her leg in his hands and snapped them back together, getting it over with as quickly as possible - trying to lessen the pain would only draw it out and make it worse.

Rhea smiled at her, "Well I didn't think...you wanted to hear or see your sister getting fixed.." he said and making sure they were far enough from the sound he set her down.
Kanis didn't think her plea would get him not to set her leg bit she looked at Armus for a minute as she held her down. Then she just looked back up at the sky.
As Corrah seprated the bone and forced it back into place she cried out threw the rope and bit it hard her eyes rolling back and this time she die pass out with a weak whimper.
She was such a stupid girl...she was so weak. Corrah must hate her.

Aras blushed and hugged Rhea warmly.
"You're so thoughtful," she murmured as he set her down. She sat there, hands in her lap, and looked at him, smiling. She didn't know what was all involved in fixing a broken leg, but she had a feeling that it wouldn't be pleasant ... and she couldn't help but feel sorry for her sister.
Corrah smiled grimly down at Kanis as he continued to work on her leg, grabbing a nearby sturdy branch and prying the rope from between Kanis's teeth, then tied it around her leg as a makeshift splint. It would have to do until he found something better ... though unfortunately, up in the mountain wilderness, there really wasn't anything better.
Once he was finished he carefully lifted Kanis in his arms, holding her protectively to his chest.
"Armus," he instructed crisply, "go find the others, make sure they're all right. Take Rhea and Aras back to their cave and Ruran to his. I'll take care of Kanis."
And with that he turned around and headed off into the trees once more, moving swiftly and carefully.
Armus nodded and picked up everything that had been left behind, then turned her eyes to the ground and began to follow after Rhea and Aras's tracks.

Rhea shook his head, "No....just protective....I don't want to see you sad or hurt." she lowered himself to all fours and moved to rest his head in her lap. Wanting to comfort the young elf.
Kanis woke up to the fuzzy sound of Corrah's voice and the feel of floating. She almost panicked and tried to push from Corrah's arm's but she felt his warm strong arms holding her and she looked down at her now bruising up leg. It looked so bad...but the splint was pretty good for and improve.
She leaned against Corrah's chest and in a soft weak voice, "I am sorry for causing trouble...." She was still in a world of hurt but she had to show her sorrow.
Ruran had started to head down the mountain. He had a blade and now he was going to take his anger out on someone. His aunt should be still a child now.

Aras smiled and gently set her hand on Rhea's head, stroking his hair tenderly.
"You make me happy," she murmured softly. "As long as you're with me, I'll be happy."
Corrah held Kanis firmly so that she wouldn't fidget right out of his arms, and when she apologized he shook his head.
"Do not apologize for things that are not your fault," he told her, though there was a tenderness in his voice that didn't seem to suit his character. "It was not your fault. Accidents happen ... that's life. Trouble is when someone does something like this on purpose ... like your brother."
He sighed and looked down at Kanis. "I will take you somewhere safe," he told her softly. "Somewhere I can help you without having to worry about you getting more hurt ... and once you are healed again, I am certain that you will be just as strong as before."
And he allowed himself a warm smile, and even his eyes lost some of their coldness as he carried her through the trees.

Rhea smiled and nods, "you make me happy too Arrras....I will never leave you." he said softly though he lifted his head hearing something coming near them. He tried to see if he could tell who it was.
Kanis looked at the baggy pant hiked up high for the split and she looked at her dark colored leg. "It was an accident I looked down to pick my leg up and I missed seeing the punch coming...." she said very softly feeling a bit odd at where to put her hands and being such a burden. She just let the one pinned to Corrah's body stay there and moved the other one to hold onto the robe.
Hearing the soft words from him and the smile stirred something inside of her and she looked away form the intensely soft ice eyes. "I will get stronger sir....so you will not have to worry about me getting hurt and being useless...You don't have to take me any where special..." she said in a still pained whisper.
She turned her eyes away from her leg and him to start trying to concentrate on spotting landmarks and not the pain.

Aras also heard someone approaching, and every muscle in her body tensed, fearing that it might be Ruran ... but she was greatly relieved when she saw that it was Armus who was coming, and not her terrible brother.
"Are you two all right?" Armus asked them as she drew near them. "You don't need to worry about Kanis, she'll be all right ..."
Corrah moved easily through the forest, his pace steady, his movements smooth, not jostling Kanis at all.
"I was a fool to let you and your brother out of my sight," he told her seriously. "If there is fault to be laid it is mine."
He looked down at her then, his entire expression turning tender. "I will take care of you," he promised her softly, "and I will make sure that he cannot hurt you again."

Rhea raised a brow and smiled at her padding over to her. "Alpha mad?" he asked and then sniffed her. He could tell she was still worried, "Something wrong?" He nuzzled Aras' leg.
Kanis turned up and looked a but shocked at him. Almost like a little girl. She felt her cheeks heat. "No sir...it is not your fault...we all make mistakes." she said gently.
She could not believe he was caring so much. It was just a accident. She looked at him softly and she smiled. "Thank you sir...I will not let you down again sir...I promise you!" She wanted to show him how much she ment it but she did not know how.

Armus smiled down at Rhea and reached down to ruffle his hair.
"Corrah is mad," she told him and Aras, "but I'm ... calming down. Ruran is a terrible boy ..."
She sighed. "Come on, I've got to take you back to your cave ... and then I'm supposed to find Ruran back again, he went off and disappeared." She snorted. "I'd rather leave him for the bears to find."
Aras's eyes grew worried at that remark. "But ... he's my brother," she said quietly. "He's a jerk, but he's my brother ..."
Corrah took them past the place where Kanis had made her home and continued on up the mountainside without even slowing down.
"You have not let me down," he told her quietly. "You have shown more strength and bravery than most others could have shown in your situation. You are already very strong, Kanis, and I wish you could see it."

Rhea's ears lowered a bit after the words of the two females. If Aras was defending Ruran then so would he. He sighed, "Shall I go track him?" He asked calmly. He would not know what to do once he found him but he knew he could get the boy quicker than Armus could. And maybe then Aras would make known thier....alignment.
Kanis looked up to see her home pass by. "Your not taking me back to my room?" She asked softly. At his praise though she looked down into the blackness of his robe. She was not as strong as he thought. She really just wanted to go to her safe room and cry.
Ruran had made surprisingly good time and by evening would be entering the meadows.

Armus shook her head. "Forget about him," she decided. "He's not worth going after ... and he would only fight with any of us. I doubt he would even listen to Corrah now ..."
She sighed. The kid was such a pain ...
Aras reached for Rhea and held him close to her. She didn't want him to leave her alone ...
"What about you?" she asked Armus. "What will you do now?"
Armus smiled grimly. "Take you back to your cave and then go help Corrah and Kanis," she replied. "Now come on, let's go."
She turned and led them once more into the trees.
Corrah shook his head at Kanis.
"While you are there, I cannot properly watch you to make sure you're all right," he told her softly. "You will be staying with me ... Armus will be taking care of the others' training until you are well enough for me to leave you for short periods of time. Your cave is too dangerous for you with a broken leg."

Rhea tilted his head, the mother was going against the Alpha. That was a tad odd to him. But he nodded and feeling Aras' arms around him he made no motion to move. "Alpha will need Mother....He is more startled than he is letting on." He said and nodded turning to wriggle himself between Aras' legs so she would be on his back as he started to walk back towards their home.
Kanis wanted to protest she wanted to be in her home so much her eyes started to well up with tears though she made no sound or movement of crying.
"Yes sir..." she said in a weak voice. She wanted to ask questions but she knew she could not fight him. "My mother will probably want to take me back home..." she said calmly.

Aras gasped with surprise when Rhea wiggled himself between her legs, but she sat on his back and held onto his shoulders carefully, not wanting to hurt him.
Armus nodded in agreement with Rhea. "He's very angry," she agreed. "I don't know what he'll do ... but I do have to be there to help him."
She picked up the pace a little, making sure that the others were keeping up.
Corrah heard the weakness and pain in Kanis's voice, but he didn't slow down. They were nearly to the top of the mountain now, the place were he and Armus had been sleeping since the children had come to stay with them, and only there would he stop.
"If your mother wishes to take you back home," he told her softly, "then so be it. She is your mother. But if she is willing to leave you in my care, then I will do everything in my power to ensure you a quick and safe recovery."
He smiled down at her, and now his smile was warm, encouraging.
"Do not worry," he murmured, "I will bring your things here so that you will have everything you need."

Rhea could tell that Armus really wanted to be back with Corrah and sighed. "Arrras and me can make it back alone....You go to the Alpha...Arrras' brother is no where around." he had not bothered to learn or at least remember Aras' siblings' names. He only cared about hers.
And he would distract Aras when they returned home and were safe.
Confusion could still slip into Kanis' mind. She wondered if Corrah was always this gentle when someone was hurt. She wanted to ask if he was the same to Armus when he first met her and she got hurt. She knew from Armus that he had been beating and really hurt.
"My sister will be alone then..." She looked at the smile and his beautifully scared face. her heart leapt and her pained mind had a flicker of the crush she had started to develop for Corrah fill her again.
She shut her eyes and lay her head against his cloaked chest, "I trust you...sir...you can leave my stuff....I don't want to..." she bit her lip for a minute then continued, "Be a burden...I will.....try to mend....quickly."

Armus smiled and reached down to ruffle Rhea's hair affectionately.
"Thanks," she grinned at him. "You're a good boy. You just remember to take good care of Aras, all right? I'll be by later to bring you some dinner."
And then she was gone.
Aras leaned forward on Rhea's back, trying to look over his shoulder into his face.
"You know where we're going, right?" she asked him. "Are you sure you can carry me the whole way? Will you be strong enough to climb when we get there?"
Corrah shook his head at Kanis. "Aras will not be alone," he assured her, "Rhea will be with her, and he will keep her quite safe. As for being a burden ..."
He shook his head again. "You are far from a burden. It has been my honour to be working with you, Kanis ... you do not realize it, but I think you have the most potential of all your siblings to be great. Aras is here because she has to be, and she has allowed her regard for Rhea, her fondness for playing with him, to distract her from her training. She will do well, but not excel. Ruran is stubborn and thick-headed, and refuses to realize the true meaning of training, the real reason behind it. He will amount to nothing, even if he learns something from me."
He paused. "But you ... you are strong, you are passionate about what you are doing ... you desire to learn, to better yourself ... you apply yourself ... and for those reasons, if for no others, you will have the most success."
