Ed turned around and sat down looking at the group. "Well at least we know we can catch food." Ed said.

Jack nodded. "Yeah. I can't stand going without food." He said putting the fish on the torch. "Not sure how this is gonna work." He said putting the end of the torch in the sand on the beach. He closed his eyes and concentrated. "Flame" He said as he fired at the torch. Hanpan looked up from where he was.
"Crest magic? When did you learn crest magic?" He asked. Jack grinned.

Jack looked over at Ed. "Yeah, Crest Magic. It's like normal magic, but we aren't born with it. We learn it. Almost like a body chart. You match one element with another and you learn a spell. I studied the crest graph and learned a few spells." He chuckled. Hanpan sighed.
"Well, I suppose it's useful." He said.

Hanpan sighed. "No, not really. Those from Filgaia are born with the potential. But it has to be taught to you, or you have to study it. Cecilia grew up at Curan Abbey before being allowed to return to Adelhyde Castle at 16. She was taught Crest Magic at the Abbey. Jack, however, did not." Jack scratched his head.
"Yeah, I just started studying graphs that Cecilia had. I figured she can't be the only one that uses magic. what happens if she is lost in battle or indisposed? Need another magic user, I figure." He grinned.
