*Clever gave him a small playful wave as she made her way back into the tavern. At the stairs she took her shoes off as usual, then went into her room. She didn't feel like sleeping so she went onto her balcony.*

*Akito nodded and smiled as Clever waved goodbye. He watched her walk inside before he turned around and walked off towards the forest, keeping an eye out for Hikaru.*

*Hikaru had been leaning up against his tree for a while now, he had smoked several cigarettes and was now lighting another one. He inhaled deeply and let the smoke trickle out of his mouth and nose. He heard something moving behind him and he quickly turned around. He continued smoking, not really being all that concerned with whatever was coming his way.*

*Akito smelled Hikaru before he saw him. He was smoking. Akito cringed, he hated smoking. He picked up a stick and poked Hikaru's side with it as he got close enough to do so.*
You know you shouldn't be smoking. Are you trying to die faster? Don't you remember what the Elders said?

*Hikaru laughed when he saw Akito approaching. He knew there was nothing to be worried about. When he poked him with the stick he grabbed it and poked him back, but more gently than Akito had poked him. He smiled and shrugged innocently as he put his cigarette out on the trunk of the tree and then slipped it into his pocket.*
You're right Akito, but I'm only stopping because you asked, it has nothing to do with those old bastards...Sorry, I know one of those guys is your dad, but you know how I feel about them.

*Akito held his side after it was poked, it hadn't hurt but he still reacted as if it had. He knew Hikaru would be gently when playing with him, Hikaru knew how gentle Akito could be. He glared as Hikaru spoke badly about the Elders. He leaned up against the tree that Hikaru had spent hours against.*
That attitude is why they make your life harder. They want you back there, not out here chasing Synge around. Yeah, I know how you feel about them, but you know how they feel about her...

*Hikaru shrugged and slipped leaned against the other side of the tree. He really didn't want to talk about this right now.*
I know Akito, but you should be old enough now to realize how stupid those guys are...They treated her wrong...and I really hope you aren't seriously going to do whatever it is they sent you to do. Ugh, it pisses me off that they even sent you. Of all people...and they can't do anything themselves!
*Hikaru sighed, he was starting to feel angry.*

*Hikaru tried to stay calm. He reminded himself that this was Akito and not just anybody. He knew where Akito's feelings came from, but he went too far by saying she deserved what she got. He quickly turned around and grabbed Akito's collar tightly, pulling him close to his face. He had a look of anger in his eyes, something that wasn't there often.*
Don't you ever say that again Akito, you don't know s**t about what happened to her, and I don't care how much you're mad about her leaving so just keep your mouth shut. Got it?

*Akito was surprised by HIkaru's reaction. His eyes widened with fear as Hikaru pulled him close. He held his breath as Hikaru spoke. He knew he was powerless against Hikaru. He looked away, focusing on a leaf on the ground.*

*Hikaru looked into Akito's eyes and saw his fear. He suddenly felt bad for getting so worked up. He slowly released Akito's collar and put his hand on his shoulder. His face softened up.*
I'm sorry Akito...Just, you don't know...they did her wrong...and they are trying to bring you down with her. Just, think about what you are doing before you do it, ok? I can't hurt you, I care about you too much...So I won't stop you here...but if you go for her when I'm around, you won't get off easy.

*Akito kept his eyes on the leaf as Hikaru let him go. He crossed his arms and shrugged. He understood what Hikaru was saying, but he still didn't know what to think. He sighed loudly and turned around towards the tavern.*
I know...I'm sorry I said that...I'm going to leave now...I'll sleep on a couch tonight, so don't worry about me. Good night Hikaru.
*Without even turning around Akito walked off to the tavern. He walked inside and went to the first couch he saw and laid down. He laid there for a while staring at the ceiling. Then he slipped his shoes off and laid on his side and closed his eyes. He was soon asleep despite the many things on his mind.*
