Well according to Draco, we are in a something quite similar to an alternate universe. If you're familiar with Final Fantasy VIII ( 8 )'s plot then you could compare it to that. The space time continuum has been interrupted and halted, where we that were caught in the end will determine what the heck happens... hopefully.
But this is just a rough thought, so you might want to run that by Draco. Either way there will be a restart of something, the question is what and how.
