Danaiss slowed down a little adn took the rear-guard of the group.
Running ahead was no use for him especially with Abel carrying Kaori. It was better for someone with free hands to be behind, ready to fight if needed. He was surprised by how easily the group had accepted him but he knew that they would need some explanations later. He had travelled far to find others like him, who wanted to fight for the right to be themselves. All the others he had met on his way were scared or even sometimes crazy, because of torture or what they had seen. He was feeling lucky to have found this group and now to be sort of port of it.

After having run for such a long time, Selyna began to notice the scents from Abel, Kaori, and Danaiss were getting weaker as they got further behind her. Slowing down a bit as they’d probably traveled several miles by now, she turned look over her shoulder. Would it be better if I stopped altogether? I could carry Kaori for a bit if it would help. Once we get to the valley we should be able to slow down and rest at more frequent times. She hadn’t stopped entirely, but had brought her pace down significantly to allow her voice that was just above a whisper, to travel to her companions better. The whispering was to keep their location hidden just as much as it was her fear still gripping her; being with these two men was causing her to have all kinds of internal conflicts and horrible scenarios to pop into her head, but she felt that since they hadn’t tried anything yet, that she may be safe for now. Her orange hair was even more poofy and unruly after all the running and everything she’d been doing, and her arm become more and more stiff as the pain cursed through the gash on her shoulder and scabbed. It made moving a lot difficult, but she ignored it as everyone as far as she could tell had suffered much worse.

Danaiss was impressed by the speed of Selyna *she is really fast!* he thought to himself, but his pride was stopping him from saying it loud. He felt a little relieved when she slowed down and managed to catch his breath.
He raised an eyebrow when he seemed to notice to Selyna's movement were a little stiff *is that her arm?* he wondered...but unsure that she really was hurt he did not say anything...*I better keep an eye on that, my healing powers could help her* he noticed for himself and then added in a sigh *if she let me close to her...* the feline woman seemed to have an issue with men, he now was sure of it...he was just concerned to which degree her power of attraction due to her cat-like shapes and manners had been playing to her disadvantage in the past.
He turned to Abel who was still carrying Kaori wondering if he needed help.

Abel shook his head fiercely, too stubborn to give up Kaori. "I'm fine, I've got her, and secondly, your arm." He said bluntly, simply ending with those two words. He had remembered what he had seen when she was in her tabby form, and he noted how she favored it now. It wouldn't help anyone if she took Kaori now, He was uninjured. He nodded as Selyna described the path they would take and how stopping would become easier to do.

Abel met Danaiss' gaze, but stayed silent, he had already said what he needed to. There was no need to state the fact that he was a stranger, and when it came to Kaori, he'd rather not trust him with her yet. Kaori hadnt even seen him yet. How she would react when she awoke in the arms of a complete stranger was one matter. One matter he decided would be the reason he would use, though it wasnt his only. Cover-up may have been the right term, but the young half-demon would never admit it.

When Abel pronounced the word 'your arm' Danaiass looked to the cat-like woman. So he was right, she indeed was injured. He hesitated. She was still faster than them, making a break now to heal her could reveale itself pointless and dangerous. He hoped that the pain was not too strong. He promised that if he saw any sign on her face showing that she was suffering he would at least take the time to decrease her pain but as for now they had to go on.
Danaiss caught Abel's look and he did not say anything. He understood. He was the same and was not expecting any compassion or sympathy from Abel.
He speeded up a little, almost catching up with Selyna. *We'll need to have a break for food and rest soon or we wont go far* he thought, looking at Selyna still running ahead *I bet she has an idea of where to stop* he said to himself.

Flinching at how harshly Abel had spoken to her, Selyna turned and began heading towards her hometown again, making an effort to move her arm and body normally and keep her face stoic. Nothing’s wrong with my arm thank you. The fact that he’d noticed caused her to panic a bit, she was obviously hurt and if either decided to take advantage of that, she’d be in serious trouble. Glancing at them over her shoulder, she picked up the pace, hoping that their attackers were still forming theories as to where they were going. Glancing back again she saw Kaori and figured they should probably get her somewhere stable soon, and she’d need something to eat. After running a bit longer, movement in her peripheral caught her attention and she stopped abruptly and turned to face it. Please let that be what I think it is…. Raising her hand so that her index finger showed, expressing that her companions wait there quietly, Selyna morphed into an orange leopard and, crouching low to the ground, began stalking out what she’d hoped had been some kind of small mammal. The smells here were of too many animals that probably used this area, meaning there was most likely water somewhere in the area. Getting to the brush while standing next to a tree, her heart leapt for joy as she realized it wasn’t just a small mammal, but a fawn that had wandered from its herd. Moving her muscles into place to get closer, she accidentally bumped her wound and flinched, causing the brush under her paws to crunch. The deer looked up, ears perked directly at Selyna, it’s eyes widened momentarily and it turned to run, but when the animal had seen Selyna, she made a bolt for it already, not wanting to let it get away. Chasing it a few dozen yards, she let out a roar as she was finally within range to pounce and did so, taking the creature down, grabbing it’s throat and ripping it cleaning out, so that the animal suffered as little as possible, though it still twitched a bit from adrenaline as she again grabbed the throat and began to drag it back to her companions, hoping she hadn’t wasted too much time in their effort to put distance between themselves and their attackers. Dropping the deer down at their feet, she morphed back into a humanoid and began wiping the blood off of her face, licking her lips and fingers to get it off as best she could. I don’t have my bag, so I have nothing to start a fire with, if one of you could, I could sniff out the water supply near here and we could make a soup for Kaori? It was odd and a deep contrast to see this innocent and often frightened woman, licking blood off of her face and hands, but she didn’t seem to think anything of it.

Danaiss looked around. They needed a rest, food and water but not here. Not far he saw what seemed like a rocky hill, with some rocks making them invisible from the sky if they wanted to sit under them. He nodded at Selyna's proposal to get some water. He pointed at the rock and charged the dear on his shoulders. "There" was is only word and he walked into the direction he pointed, gathering some small and medium pieces of wood on his way. Once he reached the hill he smiled *this is the perfect place*. He threw the dead body on the floor and started preparing the fire with some fire stones that he found in the small leather bag that he was carrying.
*This 'Selyna' is a really strange creature.* He thought. *and she needs healing, whether she wants it or not* he added while trying to start the fire.

Abel hadn't meant to be so harsh with her, but he was a bit stressed and he didnt realize it. He wasnt use to beingg worried about another, not after her, but that felt like a lifetime ago, and he shook his head to rid of the thoughts. "That only makes you a filthy liar," Abel murmured, less harsh this time, though his ears layed back against his head. He wasnt stupid, which was how he chose to see it. Selyna's sudden halt caught the ashen male off guard, it was all he could do not to run into her. Steadying himself, with one quick glance at Kaori, he followed Selyna's gaze. His ears pricked and concentrated on picking up the scent.

He watched her in silence as she killed the fawn, his expression stony and blank. As she returned and asked about water, he nodded, but remained mute as Danaiss responded. He would rather watch over Kaori anyhow. He followed him over to the chosen spot, and lay Kaori down, shifting to that of the great wolf. Gently lifting her head with his muzzle, he wriggled beneath her making of himself a sort of pillow, though his frame was a bit bony, he had enough fur in his coat to make up for it. With one content, wolf-ish sigh, he lay his head down on his outstretch paws, keeping on steady eye on Kaori, and the other on Danaiss.

Danaiss noticed Abel watching him, but he did not care. He understood his attitude. After several attempts a small fire was burning. He stood up and picked a couple of bigger branches that he displayed around the fire to dry and warm them up before burning them. He looked at the fawn not really knowing what to do with it. He turned to Abel. "Do you know how to prepare that?" Without waiting for the answer, he stood up again and left 'to search for more wood' he groused in his teeth...but in reality he wanted to find Selyna and to heal her arm. She needed it, he could feel that. He arrived next to the little spring and saw her. "Selyna?" he asked, not wanted to scare her.

The half-demon nodded his approval as the fire sparked and began to burn after one of his couple attempts. He knew what he was doing, drying and warming some larger branches before burning them. Abel shrugged his wolven shoulders. Oh he knew several ways to prepare it, but as of now, he decided to leave the food to the other two. It made him slightly nervous to have Danaiss out of his sight and knowing Selyna was injured and unaccompanied. It made him restless. He wanted to get up and follow the stranger, make sure Selyna would be ok. But he couldn't leave Kaori. His tail twitched anxiously and his eyes flicked to where Danaiss had disappeared into the trees.

((ack short, but its all I've got as of now."

Kaori sighed slightly and turned her head as Abel moved under her. She was slowly coming out of her sleep that, despite how much Abel had been running, had been rather good. And it was obviously good for her as well. Her complexion wa almost compleatly norml now, and her breathing was regular again. Her forehead furrowed slightly, then smoothed out again. Her eyelashes fluttered before she opened her eyes halfway, just barely taking in the cave like structure that they were camped under. She was seeeing everything through that haze that came with just waking up, and was not fully comprehending where they were, or that they had even moved all that much for that matter.

She could feel something beneath her head, that she knew. As she turned it to the side, she noticed that it felt like fur. Then finally she realized that it actually was fur and looked over at Abels face. There was a slight, dreamy sort of smile on her face as she looked at him. "Hey..." She croaked out, her throat a little bit raspy, but no more than would be expected from someone that just woke up.

Having gone to find the water after getting their approval for the idea, Selyna was happy they went in another direction because it gave her a chance to take care of her shoulder. Despite her efforts to ignore it, the pain was getting worse and she’d soon become a liability if she wasn’t careful. Sitting next to the spring with her injured shoulder facing the water, she pulled down her shirt on that side and had begun cupping water with her hand over it, hissing a bit at the pain the pressure from the water caused, when Danaiss showed up. Jumping despite his efforts to not scare her, she hadn’t been paying attention to the fact that his scent grew stronger as she worked on her arm. Spinning wildly to look at him, she grabbed for her shirt and saw the tall figure standing over her, trying to get some distance between herself and him, she ended up scooting back into the water and slipping a bit, causing a giant splash to hit her clothing, making it appear she’d attempted to jump into the water, but at the last minute thought against it. Please, just….. No! She couldn’t get her words to express everything she was feeling right now, hoping the emphasis she put on the last word would say it all. Finally enough space between them to stand, she did so while pulling her shirt up and staring at him wide eyed, her chest heaving from panting, wondering where Abel was and why he’d let Danaiss come after her. What’s he care about me? He’s got Kaori…..

"Mmm?" Abel murmured more to himself than to her as she turned and began to wake. He didnt lift his head yet, as he watched her as her brow furrowed and smooth, and the different states of her waking, ears brought forward and attentive. His expression was somber, though he had turned both eyes toward her and was forced to look up from where his head was on the floor which gave him a sort of puppy dog-eyed look. It was comical on him as he was so usually stony faced, though he had no idea how it looked. That dreamy smile made it impossible for the young male to resist returning the smile, along with a light hearted chuckle.

Light hearted so because he was so happy to see her in any state closer to normal. He had been sick with worry. It was a strange feeling, but horribly recognizable, though confusing. He was usually so good at keeping that wall firmly in place. It was strange that this one girl could bring out something he had kept well hidden for so long. The fact he had feelings, especially of those for another being. "Hey" He whispered, unsure why but he had felt the need to whisper. His gray eyes scanned her face. He had seen all sorts of rare princesses and beauties like no other in his life, but Kaori was something different all together. In his mind, she was the most beautiful thing he had ever layed eyes on, even now. "Sleep well?" he murmured.

Kaori nodded and smiled, chuckling ever so slightly at the look on his face, it was strange to see this shifter who seemed to be so... hard almost, though that was not the right word, looking so puppy like. "Ye.." She cleared her throat before continuing, "Yeah, thanks for asking..." She then actually looked around at where they were and her eyes held a bit of confussion, as well as curiosity. "Where are we?" She asked, though it sounded as though she were only midly currious. She tried to push herself up using her elbows, but flinched only ever so slightly when she realized that her arms were stiff, she guessed from her body working so hard to bring her back to a normal state. "Okay... bad idea." She said almost to herself with a slight sigh.

Then she heard what sounded like a shrill shreik. Not like someone in danger, more like someone being... surprised, caught off guard. She looked over to what served as the entrence to the little camp that the others had set up, her brow furrowed again. "Was that Selyna...?" She asked, mostly assuming, since she did not see the shifter in the immediate vicinaty.

Abel gave her a brief glance of confusion, "what?" he murmurer, trying to figure out what was so funny. He glanced around at their surroundings, "I dont get it?" He smiled a bit as she assured him she had slept well, "good" When she flinched and said 'bad idea', Abel lifted his head, a strange sick feeling twisting at his stomach seeing her in pain. "Relax," he soothed, still fairly quiet, "You'll get better faster if you do. We're on our way to Selyna's home. The other clearing- they followed us, through the other witch. We've been running for a while, I'm surprised you could sleep." He was looking down on her, his voice with that strange musical beat calming.

Abel's head turned as he heard the shriek, "dammit" he muttered, under his breath, "I knew i should've gone." He glanced back at Kaori as she asked about it. "I'd say," He addressed her, "Theres another male now, I wanted to go, make sure she's be okay, but I needed to stay with you. . . " He felt guilty but there was no possible way he could be two places at once.
