((...seeing as the dust is settling, time for Drake's perspective.))

Drake watches with some concern as one of the few stable people in the area is dragged unconscious into the passenger seat of the Humvee. Upon hearing the thudding of bodies on the roof of the Humvee, instinct drives Drake to pop out the window and prepare to stab disgusting zombie-esque things off the roof. Seeing as there are no zombie-esque things on the roof, Drake drops back into the Humvee and stares out the window, watching for anything that might leap out at them. His katana seems to have taken on a golden hue as his eye darts along the passing scenery...

[Mad World - Gary Jules]

The shouts and sounds of gunfire were drowned out, even as a single yellowed eye stared forward from a low vantage point. Staring in a first person view, we saw the chaos unfold as the bright light filled the area.

Smoke and fire continued to engulf the area, even as Mikhail was seen shouldering into a sprint from his position, helping to drag the Captain on out of the pit of the broken building.

Shallow breaths were heard, even as the eye closed, and opened, the view becoming more and more blurry.

The world went tospy turvy as the weakened ground gave way, and the eye closed completely.

Slipping into darkness, David fell, half his helmet gone and in bloodied pieces. Raven locks stuck out, and framed unmarred face.

This is your mission.

Don't forget the mission.

The mission.

The whine of the claxon continued, even moments after the strobing red lights faded from existence. Bright flashing lights and blaring noises were made to act on the fight or flight instinct built into living things. Things that were unliving may even have been drawn to the signal at their own folley.

The city inhaled. A ghastly breath that drew loose trash towards an epicenter of destruction. Dust, like snow, fell from the sky. Lingering in the air before settling on the ground creating a low-flying cloud effect around the block.

Finally the siren stopped. The bright orange edifice fired a beam of light into the sky and everything went silent.

Chaos, the yawning void, shifted that block of the city into a berthing position ready for death. Ground separating, exposing several areas to the sewers below. With that a dome of solid-state fire filled the area. Reaching an invisible border half a block in either direction.

A fuel air bomb that seemed built to destroy city blocks one at a time with little to no collateral damage outside. Such pressure and heat would reduce everything in its grasp to its base elements before the blast wave could cast them aside. Microbes, bacteria, and proteins were vaporized leaving this pock mark on the face of the planet utterly sterile.

A smooth, incredibly shallow crater. No wreckage from buildings, no charred corpses. Only blackened dirt in a near-perfect circle.

The explosion faded quickly with little but a light wind settling through the area.

The Cyborg wasn't fast enough to completely escape the blast radius, despite its survival protocal, it couldn't go faster than 10km per hour at top speed, and that was stress full to its hydraulic motion system. With a good effort, the bio-machine made it to the outer edge of the blast radius and increased full energy to shields, even energy required for movement and auxilary systems.

As the blast came through, spreading outward, the sheilds rapidly lost power, from 80% to 3% power through the wave of destruction. Proto-soldier would find itself standing on the outer edges of destruction, its systems crackling and straining from the blast, but it had survived.

Situation Critical

Maximum Energy at Three Percent.
All Scanning Systems Down.
All Power Diverted for Locomotion..
System Recharge Required.

01010101100010101

New Mission Objective: Return to Base or Nearest Power Source, Recharge.

Proto-Soldier climbed out of the edge of the shallow crater, it was physically damaged as well, hydraulic, biological, and lubricating fluids were leaking all over the armor despite the clotting function meant to repair damaged tubing. The viral infection repaired the cyborgs wounded fleshy parts, wherever there was a major wound. With such a low energy, the Cyborg drug itself along at 1 kilometer an hour.

Hikaru looked back to see the inferno, wondering if he should have been back there to absorb some of that heat and become rather more powerful. However, when his nuero-sensory and wizardric sensory systems recorded energy enough to vaporize bacteria, he was glad to have hitched a ride on the humvee. While holding tightly on with his right mettalic hand, his left went down to his side.

"Are we safe?"

Hikaru asked, not knowing who he had chosen as allies and who the enemies were. He really just wanted some conflict so he could absorb the heat of explosions and the carbon often placed into the atmoshpere from them.

The spot that Hikaru's left hand hovered over began to glow.

He looks at the guy whose hand has just started glowing. "Well we haven't died, so I'm assuming we are safe unless we run into a horde of zombies or one of those big monsters that attacked us the first day. God I hated that thing, injured me badly." He continues to be anchred but is now standing on the back bumper of the Hummvee.

Owle felt the heat and thought she was going to die. She fluttered and chirped, fluttered and chirped, sent an I love you to her son and then...

The noise stopped. The heat faded. She was still alive.

Singing a joyous song, the little bird hopped out of Kalis's pocket to see what was going on, to see if her other friends had survived. She had, however, forgotten one crucial fact.

They were speeding away on a motorcyle.

The swift breeze created by their passage knocked her light body backwards, sent her tumbling end over end in a dizzying spiral that ended with her impacting the asphalt and rolling into a sewer grate. The bars were too close for most things to slip through...but Owle was just a little bird. She slipped, she fell, she tumbled, and she landed with a splash.

Sputtering and disoriented, Owle began flapping her wings like crazy as the current carried her off with it.

It was long after the light from the grating had disappeared behind her that she finally managed to lift herself above the surface of the water and get her bearings once more. She turned to her more human form, not wanting to be swept away again, and took a look around.

There was fortunately a hole above her, letting the light through. In it, she could see that she was not alone. The figure of a man accompanied her, lying prone in the sewere where he had fallen.

He looked really familiar. And he was injured.

With a gasp, Owle went running forward to check him over, checking his pulse, making sure he was breathing, examining his injuries. It would be some time yet before she was calm enough to realize that his mind sig didn't match up to that face.

Zombies... big monster?

Hikaru took a bit to register that, something in his databases gave him an image of necromancers and thier armies. A list of their specs went across his visual screen and he analyzed them. It seemed a lot of undead didn't like flames all that much, less they were hellflame type undead. The android continued to listen to his fellow roof travelr, and responded when he was done.

"Injured... do you need healing?"

Hikaru could do that, but it'd have to wait till he could get his right hand free of holding onto that roof.

"No, the injury from the damn genetic freak is already healed. Apprently when you kill what functioned as a biological missile carrier, it'll shoot all its spikes out into the four winds. I was unlucky enough to be pinned into the metal wall at the main gate into this city. The damn spike went straight through my chest, taking out a lung and feris. I was lucky to have the last brew of a drink which when poured on the wounds of our species will spped up regeneration. Unfortunately for human and other creatures it would burn through them unless ingested. As long as we speeding away mind if I ask about your story? Why are you here? And how did you get here?"

"Hmm..."

Hikaru wasn't much for conversation. However, it was beneficial to make new friends in strange places. There wasn't like there was much else to do at the moment.

Just, hanging around and all.

"Well... My story is a long one. As to the reason I am here... I feed off heat and carbon, it powers the living bio-metal which makes up half my body and my armor. I travel through the hot inner mantle of the planet, and I came to the surface here because I sensed a lot of heat and carbon that I could abosrb while doing some adventuring.

I didn't expect for that large blinking device to come out and force me to flee from the fire zone. So, I think that answers your questions. I came from under the surface of the planet and came to take in some heat and experience some adventuring."

"So essentially your body is built similar to a Guyver unit minus the lasers and plus a volcanic power? And felt some wanderlust? Is there a human or other creature inside that armor or has it bonded with your body inseparable?"

"I have two .45 calibur Defenders and a gun sword that has a five foot blade. Both fire rounds that are similar to my bio metal, and the large gun sword fires rounds with enough force to punch through a tank while its rounds ignite. The Defenders' rounds absorb heat of whatever they touch."

Hikaru wondered if it was wise to be giving so much information about himself, but he really didn't feel a need to be discreet.

"I am an android... or a cyborg in some people's eyes. I consider myself mostly human though."

There is that identity crises thing again.

"Eh... I can make flames and flaming magma, and take the carbon out of a living object to sort of turn it to dust."

Hikaru offered as well, not knowing what else to say.

When the bomb went off, all Drake heard was a light thump, as though someone had taken their cupped hands and lightly tapped them over his ears. Shaking his head to clear it, Drake sits and enjoys not having to fight for his life for a few minutes...then he consciously realizes that there are people on the roof. Not entirely human people...but who was he to judge? He taps the roof twice with his armored fist, and shouts a greeting out the window.

Drake: "Welcome aboard, gents! The Hellhole Exit Express seems to be running on time!"

He chuckles to himself, then leans back in seat and keeps his eye on the scenery...he's relaxed, but not that relaxed.

At the time of explosion Tweak had promptly keeled over with both arms over his head. Duck and cover type position right into the compartment or into the back of a seat. Either way it was enough to elicit a loud, "********!" Not like this choice of wording was anything particularly new.

He was pretty much sitting there, sandwiched between two people he did not know. On one hand he had Drake being all ******** close and such. Then on the other side of him he had Brody or Saul, whoever was shoved into the backseat with him. "******** s**t, get the ******** away from me. Get the ******** out and knock those bitches off this goddamned roof you useless s**t." Suprizingly enough the verbal onslaught was directed at Drake.

Potentially making the tirade more threatening or perhaps comical was how he waved his useless shotgun around in his left hand. Whoever was unconsious beside him, Brody or Saul, would get smacked in the face by it at least twice. Tweak did not even stop to consider the fact that he was slugging someone with the steel of a shotgun or randomly pulling the trigger in anger.

"And you," Thus he directed it to the driver, Fuller? ", why in the hell are you stalling like this? <******** drive man, drive! Do not stop in zombie ******** paradise." His tone was right below hysterical and only continuing to climb the scale. Both eyes were wide and his breath came quick. He was getting pretty damned close to a nervous breakdown at this point. This was totally not s**t that he had been prepared for.

After hearing Drake's greeting he moves from where he is perched on the back of the roof he lowers his head so that it can be seen through the window. He sticks his head in the window because it was not closed by Drake after he open, and so he could be heard. He hopes that his sudden apparence doesn't make Drake do something like shoot him or attempt to slice and dice him. "Hello, Drake! Long time no see! How did you get here?"
