"This is true, and they are." Calamity furrowed his brow and watched the retreating form of the mare that almost ran into Maeryn with poorly concealed mirth. "But one coyote couldn't do this unnoticed. That was all I meant to convey."

He suddenly tilted his head at Maeryn, his eyes glinting with revelation. "You've been thinking about this very carefully, haven't you? And not just with base curiousity like the other soquili and two-leggers here. Perhaps you've come to similar conclusions? If this is something new and obviously dangerous...what will this mean for the Kalona?"

He smiled darkly and allowed his black and blond hair to fall over his eyes.

Necro walked over to the small group of Kalona. She had followed the scent of blood to the wounded soquilis and was disappointed that they were well watched over by the two-leggers which prevented her from eating them.

Spotting Maeryn, she walked over to her alpha and friend. At least Maeryn was probably the closest thing Necro could ever come to calling a friend. She was talking to that loser Kalona, Calamous, Calamazoo, Calasomething. The ruby Kalona wasn't far off. He was always around as if they needed protecting, or maybe it was just Maeryn he watched.

She really wanted to eat those injured soquili.

Ahhh. So he did have a brain in his head. Well, somewhat of one anyway. Maeryn snorted, and pawed at the ground again, completely ignoring the retreating Ever. "I am in the habit of thinking over things carefully, Calamity. It's important in my line of... work." She lashed her tail back and forth almost cattishly, and once more cast her eyes upon the wreckage.

"Yes... there is a threat to our race here, or at least there is in my mind. Something that is willing to disrupt and destroy even our (and by our, she meant Kalona) haunting grounds. Our burial sites. It is no Kalona that did this. It is something... hmm. Something willing to pillage and slaughter thoughtlessly."

Or so she believed. "But I have no proof other than what you see here. None at all. Only logical reasoning." Which she did employ upon occasion. "Well, so far... it has meant that our kind has been dismissed as a lesser evil. For do we not have our own rules among ourselves? This thing, whatever it may be... is lawless." Oh dear. There she went again, waxing eloquent on the subject of her race. "Unreasoning." And they were anything but that. ... Well, most Kalona were, anyway.

Just then, Maeryn picked up a familiar scent. "Neco," she greeted her companion. "Won't you join me?" That was no smile. No, it much more resembled a smirk. Ahhh, but it was good to be among those of her own kind, and of those... the female was closest to her.

(( rofl Calamazoo... xp *luffs on Meeki*))

Cal wondered how on earth he could have missed this particualr specimen of Kalona in all his time among their kind. He raised an eyebrow, the maximum evidence he would allow of his surprise at her appearance. Wordlessly she approached, and Cal had to remind himself to say something.

"It looks like we're once again forming our own little club. Did you come for the mystery or the banquet, Miss...?"

He laughed lightly and tried vainly to remember if he'd ever heard her name before. "Suffice to say, there'll be no feast today. The attacked soquili are alive and recovering."

Turning his attention back to Maeryn, he marvelled silently at her speech. A little trite, but completely correct. "This is true, and I think if nothing else, it means your ideas about herding the kalona are even more appropriate, if not necessary."

He was beginning to like the black mare more and more, despite her imperious airs.

"You are wasting your time talking to a pup like him," Rötschreck stated to Maeryn, not caring if he had been eavesdropping or not. Not like the conversation was private, here in the middle of the village and all.

"He is too arrogant to look at the bigger picture, that there's a force at work here greater than our own race. More powerful, more evil, more trouble. My guess is they won't differentiate between a good or evil creature. To them, everything is their enemy and should be destroyed. They were unbiased in their destruction. They destroyed our terrority as they destroyed all others." Rot paused turned his attention from Maeryn to Calamity, "This makes them our enemy, pup. We need to know what we are up against, what they are capable of and how to stop them. In a time of war, alliances and truces may be made in the most unlikely of places. We have our survival to concentrate on. Something bad is coming. This is only a start." Rot didn't want to admit it but he was worried. Only a fool wouldn't be.

How long had they slept for?

Was it morning or afternoon...?

The fiery mare allowed her tired ears to creak open and she gave a brief moan. It seemed she still hadn't recovered from her lack of sleep the previous night and even her head seemed heavy as she lifted it to take heed of her surroundings - from what she could see they hadn't moved from their position by the berry tree and nothing about them seemed to have been disturbed.

Good. She thought with a nod as her left ear drooped to the side in that rather familiar way by now. It seemed that even Nagual was alright, although the mare did hope her friend's nose had recovered from the appalling sneezing fits she had suffered - she even had that arrowhead still attached to the flower in her hair!

"Urgh..." Blinking a few times to remove the sleep from her eyes the mare finally pulled herself to her feet and strode over to the berry tree to sample the delightful tastes that Nagual seemed to fond of - well she needed something very sweet to give her a buzz, she really needed to fix her sleep patterns.

((Hmm thinks this is a good time for Davey's first rp))

Davey Jones had been hearing many tales of the panic in Kawani villiage. His boredom of the emty ocean waters were growing and his longing to see a fight or least a damage of one was growing to strong to resist any longer. The strange soquilli followed the river into the the lands not really wanting to leave the water till he had too. As the villiage came into sight he saw all sorts there. Kalonas, winds, unicorns, and regular soquilli in addition to the two leggers. He popped his slimy lips lightly as he left water heading towards the villiage. His peg leg thumped the ground as he went annocing his presence. He made his way through going no where certain. He spotted a group of Kalona's a bad omen indeed, but then again Davey Jones himself had ventured from the water to see the mess was that any worse than kalonas? Davey made his way towards them his tentacle crawling slightly with curiousity.
"You lot wouldnt be knowing what happened here would yee?"

Necro smirked. "They could still die," she grumbled. "I can kill them myself. Just need the two leggers to leave them alone for a few minutes." She could practically taste the blood in the air and her stomach grumbled in response.

"My name is Necro. I've heard a lot about you, Calam..oo..a.., brother of Misery. It was all bad. Normally that would be a compliment, but in this case, it's not. I heard you're quite the pansy. Then I heard you can only be tough when it comes to mares and foals. Lots of mares and foals around this village at the moment. Aren't you a regular superstallion." Necro shook her head. Perhaps she should give Calamooshu a real chance instead of judging him based on hearsay and rumors. Then again, maybe not. That wouldn't be as much fun.

Nagual hadn't slept the greatest. The time away from Sanika plus the events of the former day.... not to mention berries for bed! Her eyelids were heavy as she tried to pry them open. Her bright pink eyes surveyed the area from it's location resting on her feet.

As sleep slowly drifted away from her mind, the mare worked to her feet. The area was unfamiliar to her, she rarely stayed close to the village very long. "Where are we....?" Nagual asked to herself, but then noticed Yei nibbling at some berries.

Her stomach lurched at the thought of more berries. The effect it had given her by eating so much before sleeping... well, she wasn't feeling quite right. Not to mention her nose and throat felt raw from the massive amounts of sneezing. "I don't feel so good," the mare pouted, looking to Yei for answers.

"It is not so much a herd as a coalition. It is... more loosely based than a herd would be." Rötschreck had a valid point. Calamity, being unwilling to accept her ideas... well, their ideas, since they seemed to be shared somewhat among the group of Kalona, would probably dismiss a good portion of her arguments out of hand.

"Hmm, you are probably correct, Rot... but it does not hurt me to think these things over more carefully than I have been." Another opinion, even a foolish one, helped her to do that. Maeryn glanced at Rot, and then Calamity. Hmm. Was it as she had long ago thought, that the two of them had some sort of history together?

"I have no doubt that these creatures, whatever they are, will be quite willing to slaughter all in their paths. They show no favor for evil over good, and that in and of itself suggests that their only care is for destruction. Chaos, death... those are things that we too enjoy. Yet... not senselessly." Not haphazardly. She raised an eyebrow. Perhaps the Protector could phrase her words in such a way as to be more readily understood by the other Stallion. Perhaps.

Ahhhh, Necro. Always such a source of amusement for her. The black mare deeply enjoyed their interactions, for she had a very unique way of looking at the world. Maeryn could appreciate that. She laughed, flicking her tail once more. "Misery has much to say about her brother."

Oyohusa
Crew

PostPosted: Sun Sep 03, 2006 1:50 pm

The next morning...
Oyohusa woke up nude again with no memory of what happened during the night. Clutched in his hand was a lock of hair from a soquili. He recalled some of the events that took place after awhile. Two soquilis were cursed. One was cursed the previous night and last night another was cursed. There was something about these two soquilis that caused them to meet the fate of the dark spirit but Oyohusa didn't know what it was.

"Why are horses being cursed by me? Usually I can only curse a human..not an animal. Where did these particular horses come from?" he asked himself as he got dressed in his animal skin.

Oyohusa was a few yards from the village this time and could see it through tall trees in front of him. This time, several teepees were destroyed angering the Kawani people even further.

"The evil has come back! The warrior did not kill the coyote after all. We have been decieved!" they shouted with a fist in the air. Many were thinking that perhaps the old intruder to their village might of been the cause.

Chief Tawadi climbed outside his destroyed teepee and sighed heavily. The entire town was ruined even further like several animals took part in the evil deeds.

"My people. There is more than one culprit among us that is doing this evil. Did anyone see the events last night or has any clues as to who did it? Please don't be afraid to speak up".

"I was unaware you were awake." Yei finished sampling the berries and lifted her again, at this point in time, Nagual seemed to be acting younger and younger but then again...she had been through a lot and whether Yei liked it or not the mare was very young, she was alowed to act like a child in the given circumstances.

"We're a little away from the village." She explained gently as she gave the mare a nudge of encouragement, "I believe we slept here for the night, nothing seems to be amiss though so..." She gave a shrug and offered a smile as she motioned towards the river with a flick of her head, "Have something to drink, you look parched...and how's your nose?" She added as she made her own way to the river - those berries were incredibly sweet and not really to her taste.

Nashota looked around, trying to find clues. She saw the same Soquili footprints once again.
"A Soquili, but which Soquili?" asked Nashota to herself, only in a mumble.

Myoa whimpered. Not again! Tears flew from her eyes. She was going to get to the bottom of this, and she had a good feeling who caused this. That stranger! A low growl escaped from her throat. He was going to pay. Noday was going to touch her friends and family! She stepped up to the Chief. "My Chief, I saw nothing of what happened last night, but this time, there was definatly another. The scent is slightly familar...but I can't put my finger on it.

Saika crawled out and into the gathering. She sat down next to Myoa agian, the whole time keeping silent. She was worn out from yesterday, and had nothing to say.

Jeevita flew and landed gently down on the ground. She left Alsoomse with Cualtzin. Perhaps it wasn't a good idea, but it was better then having her back at the this place. Blood reeked the air. It almost made her sick. She saw the slow gathering of Kalonas. They were just as angry about this as most everyone.

She didn't want to be here, but she had to. She needed to be here. Though she longed to be back with Cualtzin and Alsoomse. Every time she came, it seemed like it got worse. Some two-leggers scrabbled about trying to clean stuff up. But it didn't look like it was working to much.

Her wings were slighty unfolded. It seemed that many were regathering. Perhaps there was going to be another village talk by the chief. She couldn't understand him last time, but she knew exactly what he was talking about. He wanted to know exactly what everyone wanted to know.

Cualtzin wasn't far from the teepee. Though, Jeevita may have said to keep Alsoomse away from there, she couldn't expect him to stay away from there. It didnt' seem right. He wanted to know what was going on too!
Alsoomse was on his back holding on to his curled mane. He walked slowly towards the village, just out of site from everyone. He didn't want to get too close, but close enough to hear what was going on.
