I've played the flute for awhile, and I think my special talent is to almost always be just a LITTLE off key.

i think my hearing's gone bad after sitting in front of trumpets for five years and next to a piccolo for two of those years. sweatdrop

Thats cool...heehe meh play flute..^__^ Im only 13 but ive been playing for 3 years...this christmas im gonna start playing the piccolo..!!! YAYYY!!! A really cool pink one too! Hehehe i heard you can get deaf in your right ear if you play it too much X___X

sugarnew182 Night_Blaze Honestly? About 3 1/2 years. I'm only an 8th grader. sweatdrop I'm a 1st chair flutist. I want more of a challenge in band... Just wait, because if your school is anything like mine, the flutes are the hardest working section. Pretty much none of the other sections are as competitive as they are.... It is kind of scarey. OMG..i so relate to that crap!!!! Man, flutes are the most competitive section...even the trumpets notice that.. crying Im only 2nd chair..BUT ILL GET BACK UP THERE I TELL YOU!!! xp

Hehehe i heard you can get deaf in your right ear if you play it too much X___X I'm 14 but I've been playing for 6 years blaugh I started the Piccolo last year and played it one song in band then I didn't do Piccolo in marching band until after our playing tests because my band director hasn't heard me play personally and then I asked him if I could play it just once and then he let me play the whole time! And that is such a myth because I played my piccolo like the wh0re I am and I can still hear heart 3nodding biggrin

They're incredibly loud and make the band room shake, literally. That by no means is an exaggeration. But in the stands I had a trombone and a mellophone player right behind me and they were blowing my ear drums out like hell whee xd

I know EXACTLY how far to pull the headjoint out to get it in tune. But then, I've had my current flute for five years now, so there you are. Phear my tuning skillz! xd
