Forest Whitaker in a simple and otherwise average movie speaking to a man caught in material gain, the fear of failure, the guilt of his past and in current circumstances outside of his control trying to comprehend happiness and why he can’t achieve it. His mind boggles as to how it is that the man he is speaking to, who by right could be sullen, angry or depressed, yet is happy:
“I have a story for you. There is a man, he lives in a village, and he only has this one stallion, one horse, and this horse does all the work for him. And then one day the horse escapes, and runs away.
And everyone in the village, they come to him and say: “Oh, we are so sorry for you, now you are so poor”
And he says: “Maybe, Maybe not”
And then the next day the horse returns and it brings 20 mares with it.
And all the people in the village come and they say: “Oh praise God, you are the richest man in the village, you must be so happy”
He says: “Maybe, maybe not”
And the next day, his son rides the stallion, and he falls from it and he is paralysed.
And all the villagers come to him and say: “I’m so, so, sorry, you are the poorest of us all, you have lost your son”
And he says: “maybe, maybe not”
So the next day there is a war and they call all the children of the village to go to war and his son stays behind because he is paralysed.
And they say: “Oh you must be so happy you got to keep your son, because all of our sons have perished in the war”
And he says: “Maybe, maybe not”
I think life is guiding us to something Bringing us to a place Trying to nudge us in the right direction And I recognize it’s guiding me”

It is raining. Like a child who returns to their parents -ashamed- after rebelling, I thank zeus for it.

It's healthy to spend time away from your partner. It's romantic to be struck with pangs of longing for them to be at your side. It's love to wake up next to them, with the drool, eye-crusties and snot bubble- and think they are adorable.

Like too much, it's just taking too long. Knowing makes it worse. Can it be done already, get me out of here, I don't want this. It's not my problem.
