Giving her ally a thumbs up to reassure him that Yes, I'm awesome, America gripped Stryker to attack again, only to notice that his runes were glowing much more intensely than ever before. He looked about ready to explode!

As the golden ball hit it's length, a large fireball shot out from it, continuing Stryker's trajectory and hitting the mermaids with a satisfying explosion. America only looked at is for a moment before remembering herself. Turning back to her ally, she gave him a cool Sup? nod.

See Finn, Fini was at her best around him. Clearly he was a good luck charm.
And he proved it by being a pro at sweeping off the mermaids while Fini charged in.

They were totally an awesome team.
Or at least that's what they could believe. Instead of the more realistic scenario of Fini using Jack as a meat shield.

Obviously he was impressed. Obviously. America went in to look even cooler this time, taking extra special care in her attack pose.
The mermaids were less impressed, and all her attempt at posturing got America was quick hair pull and punch. She took care to dramatically flip them off in turn, slapping her butt for emphasis.

Cass didn't mind defending. If Milo got tired or wanted to tap out she'd happily trade with him so he'd take less mermaid abuse, though.

Well, if Cass didn't mind than Milo wouldn't have; he was still enjoying himself in the fight against the sea banshee creatures despite the pulling and tearing and scratching they were doing.
A mermaid managed to get a hand through Cass' stellar defense, yanking Milo off course and thus not allow his attack to follow through. Her claws had dug in a little, but he was still pretty much okay. Relative, with the other amount of scratches and stuff he had taken along with it.
