Packmule? Who you calling a pack mule? >[ She wouldn't object to helping, but not taking on everyone's burdens. That only applied in more heroic situations, like pulling someone out from a collapsed cave.

Callie made a face. "Oy, why go to the bad part of town for something like marshmallows? The good part's just as good. Better than bad. Definitely." Her skin ruffled a bit at the insinuations the demon posed - really, was no-one going to be prudent on their last few days? Did no-one remember the mold class?

"I mean, marshmallows are supposed to be pure and fluffy and wholesome, not . . . dirty."

As more seemed interested in his cause, Argyle looked pleased with himself for once.

"Imagine a future where all humans can be free-range and no longer enslaved for FEAR-harvesting purposes! Isn't that just a dream? Do you really want the knowledge that your existence is fueled by unhealthy, harmful scaring on your conscience?"

At some that seemed a little alarmed at this: "Well, DO YOU?"

They hurried off without another word. "I didn't think so."

This little bit of drama was the last push he really needed to get the interest of others; they began to gather around him, inquiring about the cause and asking what they might be able to do to help

Argyle was glowing. In a metaphorical way. Also literally, but mainly metaphorically.

Skylar couldn't help the grin that came across his face.

"Oh yes, must be that." He said, still trying to douse the flames with whatever means possible, to no avail. At this point, saving the table wasn't worth it. Just containing the fire was going to be a problem. If only he were a water element. "Must have been a very competitive person if that were the case." He said, chuckling a little as Zeke checked the table for sabotage, only to shake his head.

"No no no, Zeke. Like this." He moved to his side, raising his arms over his head and with a commanding voice yelled. "FIRE FEAR THE WRATH OF OUR AWESOME POWER! BEGONE!"

Of course, nothing happened. Aside from the flames growing larger.

"Well. It was worth a shot." He said, stuffing his hands into his pockets.

May just looked at everyone, listening for their post-graduation plans. She knew the general idea for most of them, but not some of them!

The country twanging dragon in the background caught her attention though. She couldn't help but laugh a little bit. She was so used to Tex's country voice that anyone else just sounded a bit ... well odd.

"Ooooh looks like we have some competition for ya Tex," she said, nudging the boil. "Hey Kani you're closest, go call him over!"

Vivi tried to shoo Tica away from her booth but it just wouldn't work, so she settled for pouting at the ghoul. "You're going to lower the quality of my booth looking like that, Tica." She sighed and propped herself up on the table, crossing her ankles as she did so. "It smells like smoke and stuff," she complained. Oh jack, she hoped the dress she was wearing wasn't getting irreparably dirty. The soot in the air was already getting in her pores and ruining everything, probably. How much more did she have to suffer?

The sight of the festival gave Taru some pause. Up until now, she'd felt pretty guilty over her late start, but maybe it wasn't such a bad thing.

"Hah, uh, wow," she remarked, hurrying towards one of the empty booths to set her things down and get things rolling. Everyone appeared to have things as under control as they could, but she'd pop around to see if anyone needed help after she handled her own business.

Gotta look out for yourself, Taru.

She'd spent the majority of the night putting the finishing touches on her booth setup, and it showed. Everything seemed to fit together nicely, nothing more attention-grabbing than the others.

Topping it all off was a little collection jar for donations. She was going to need some funding for what she planned to kick off. Some sponsors.

Some everything!

Fire.

FIRE!!

Moira shrieked, the sound resembling a high-pitched hissing gurgle, then clawed her way out from under the burning tablecloth. The zombie wanted nothing more than to just charge out of the room and leave everything behind, but... but her cards! The shining beacons of her future, or something! Summoning up her utmost courage, Moira reached out her FEAR and activated the robots on the table...

They sprang into active mode at once, their tiny treads rolling over the flames until not a one was left. Moira slumped with relief... and a little bit of pride. Hey! Protocol 4.6 had actually worked this time!

The smoke and fire and all else that came with it was a pretty massive distraction. This would be a tough one to fight.

Thinking that she had this one under control, Taru attempted to crawl onto her table and make her announcements and greetings from there, but the thing was too flimsy from the flames that had licked its legs to safely stand on.

"Jackdamn circumstances and stuff," she grumbled, plopping down in a chair behind the table instead.

Everyone seemed largely disinterested in stopping by. Discouraging.

A few stragglers did stop by, and seemed relatively interested in supporting her endeavors, but she still had a long, long road ahead of her.

She was sure that things would be looking up for her any time now! That's how things worked, right?

Scooting backward in her chair, she stretched and wandered away from her own table, more interested in seeing how everyone else was doing.

"Ah that's unfortunate. Up until the fire my booth was near perfect. I had quite the crowd around mine. The future is definitely looking pretty bright right now," she grinned.

Vel then stared at d**k.

"You just love to pound things with your hammer don't you?"

Considering her options, she bite her red-polished nail a moment before shrugging. "I'm still getting offers. I want to see which one is the best, but I'd love guarding a portal between worlds. That is very high class rank right there. Sorting out the illegals without passports and the riff-raff trying to smuggling goods in and out." A nice post to protect and serve to make her kin proud. "I'm not settling for some bank job downtown." She was better than that.

At the mention of a boil, she turned and waved. "Hey there! This ghoulie wants you." She called in a sweet tone as if May wanted to flirt with the boil.

Faysal swore and leaped to his hooves as the flame threatened his booth. The shadhavar tried to beat out the flames with the edge of the tablecloth, but that only resulted in the tablecloth itself catching fire.

He was going to smell like smoke this was unacceptable!

A long night of helping to set up the festival had been easy for Melusine, as she was undead and a vampire, so it wasn't like she needed the sleep. But still, when she returned back to her dorm room as the sun had come up, she realized a little belatedly that she had forgotten to gather her supplies for her booth. The booth for a festival she had just spent the entire night helping set up.
Sometimes she could be a real scatterbrain.
In any regard, since she didn't need the sleep, she only grabbed a quick bag of blood and set about preparing for her booth. The hours escaped her once more, so that by the time she had packed everything up to carry it down to the festival, she was very, very late.
Also, the festival was on fire.

A high pitched squeak exited her mouth as she stood near the entrance, her box of prized possessions clutched in her arms, her parasol slung between them and cradled on the side of her neck. Instead of exclaiming or making any sort of attempt to run, Melusine just stood there and squeaked, much like a bat. She did this for about five minutes as she tried to decide what to do.
For you see, her booth was only going to be full of books. She wasn't good at much, but she was fantastic at reading and collecting books. She had spent the entirety of her schooling at Amityville just collecting books, and had amassed quite a collection. Her pride and joy, though, was the vast quantities of books she had snitched from The Human World.
So, she certainly couldn't let those be touched by fire.

But just as she was about to give up and go home, she noticed a small pathway free of fire.
"Oh! Lovely." She said in a colorless voice and set off in that direction, now totally absent of the booths burning around her. With careful steps (and a mighty wish that she could just turn into her bat form and fly the box to safety), she maneuvered a totally fire free area and began to set up.
Well, she tried to set up at least. Everybody yelling about the fire heavily distracted her so that by the time she had finished setting up, it didn't look all that nice.

Oh well, at least she had remembered to wear her frilly hat shaped like a book!

Faysal snatched up his precious glamour shots before the fire could take them, then did the only thing he could think of - with a grunt, the shadhavar kicked the table, sending it and the flames crashing into the ground, smothering the fire between the table and the floor.

He sighed with relief as the last embers guttered and went out. At least it hadn't touched his mane!

Quin smiled clearly amused. "Oh I bet ya have some rock hard skills alrigh'."

It was good to know everyone was doing fairly well with their booth. Quin didn't see much of a point she had a goal, a single minded focus and she wasn't going to give up until she got what she wanted.

"So 'ave ya heard about Malkem and his minipets thing?" The vampire had to wonder why he bothered to hide it all these years.
