Texas sat back down on the couch, not sure if Mirai was truly mad or just pouting. He was never good with figuring that stuff out. He might as well take a shower now though. As he walked into the bathroom and closed the door behind him, he realized that his chest with the written scar on it had been showing the entire time. He hadn't even noticed. He had always been so self-conscious about it that he had never even shown it without being highly aware of the situation. He stripped off the rest of his clothes and hung up the towel, making sure to lock the bathroom door. Mirai knew about it and accepted him anyway; that was a first. He realized he didn't mind her seeing it anymore. He didn't feel ashamed when she did. He smiled to himself as he began to run the hot water, looking forward to a hot shower.

About 45 minutes later, Texas came out of the shower with a fresh pair of clothes and wet hair. He sat down on the opposite side of the couch from Mirai, lifting her legs and resting them on his as he stretched out. "I have to say, that felt pretty good," he told her as he leaned back onto the arm of the couch.

Texas paused for a moment as he thought. "Both. Definitely." He replied. He folded one hand behind his head as he thought, absently touching the scar on his chest under his shirt.

"Huh? Yeah," replied Texas, glancing up from where he was looking then back down to his chest. "I was just thinking about how I wasn't thinking about my scar before even though it was showing," he explained. "I know, weird right?"

"Yeah..." replied Texas quietly, not looking up from his tracing. His shirt was dark black and it was impossible to see the scar through it, but still Texas was able to trace it perfectly, so familiar with every curve of the lettering that he didn't even need to try. "But if other people see it, they won't understand. They'll automatically assume that I suck or something..." despite having accepted the fact that he wasn't a failure, there were still lingering doubts. He had grown to resent the Machinist Order as the ones who did this to him; scarring him for life in the most literal sense of the word. Once he was strong enough he would go back there and scar them back. Then they'd see who had "failed".

Texas gave Mirai a slight smile. "Yeah, me too," he told her. He was glad to have a partner he could count on. It was something he'd never had in the Machinist Order. Back there it was all determined by who you were most compatible with in terms of strength and training. It had definitely honed his combat abilities and allowed him to harness his incredible amount of raw strength, but he had always realized there was something missing to the partnership. He had just never realized what it was. "How do you think that black raven knew about it?" Texas asked her, referring to when Scratch had first revealed the scar to Chilia who had revealed it to Mirai during combat as well as using it to trick Texas into attacking her recklessly.

Texas sat up slightly when he heard Mirai and saw the expression on her face. "What?" He asked, curious as to what had caused her change of expression.
