 .:Elijah Manuel Avila:. Elijah relaxed at Aurora's reaction. Had he expected her to be judgemental? She herself was not an ordinary human. Not a human at all, really. Elijah laughed at her question, thinking of his own family's reaction to his newfound abilites. "Not to my knowledge, no. It came as a bit of a, uh, shock, really." And that was putting in nicely. His parents had been nothing short of 'freaked out.' His father, especially. Over time they had relaxed, but things were definitely not easy at the beginning. "And you?" he asked, wondering what her own background must be like. "You must come from a family of sirens," he said, asking, more than stating.

 Nodding in understanding, the siren smiled. He was unique even among his family? That had to be a blessing or a curse, but she had no idea which. Perking up at his question, she answered with another bib of her head, "Yes. A very long line." She thought of her family for a moment, describing them absently at the same time. "Well, I have a twin sister, and five cousins that make up this generation alone. We are so large, but for some strange reason most of them never want to leave the ocean." Aurora's face became rather curious, as she had no clue why. The land was so beautiful, and new.

.:Elijah Manuel Avila:. Elijah nodded his head, understandingly. "That is quite a large family," he laughed softly. He grew solemn in thought at Aurora's last statement. "I suppose not everyone likes change," he said. He himself has problems accepting some changes. Probably runs in the family, he thought, somewhat bitterly. He realized he was getting sidetracked and refocused his attention onto the girl before him, flashing a kind smile. He found it quite easy to talk with Aurora. He wondered if it was because she was a siren, or if it was something else entirely. Her carefree attitude, perhaps. "What made you want to leave the ocean?" he asked, returning to the conversation at hand. He was genuinely curious. If her family was so content with staying home, what made her want to leave that behind?

Still thinking of her family's simple routines, Aurora's attention was able to refocus once Elija spoke again. "Oh that's easy!" she answered with renewed energy, if that was even possible. "Exploring! I admit, I will always love the ocean, but it is wonderful to see and learn of new things." She motioned to the bushes and plants around them as she added, "None of these can be found beneath the sea." She nodded, affirming her statement with a smile.

 Shy having cut all ties with her people due to personal agenda's and not wanting to be involved in all the chaos and evil the government of them wished to due she stood now the first time eyes unshielded forcing her body to endure the sunlight and fully adjust to it cause from now on the surface world would be her home and even if bright and warm it was a lovely place. yes nothing like the chilled darkness's beauty of the under-darks cities and caverns but a more wide and varied in coloring and lights kind of .

Running-Bear took his medicine pouch to his side as he looked though the herds and roots that were in the garden. He was refilling the pouch in case he needed to help mend a student with the ancient knowledge that he had. The teacher was rather quiet while he picked things here and there. There was no need for him to talk that much.

seeing the male she walks over taking a quick small breath hoping to not be offensive in all her ways she asks abit brashly "what are you doing mister .teacher " she asks knowing with how old he appears he is either a college student of a teacher .

Running-Bear turned towards the girl and smiled. He had a mint plant in his hand. This one was replacing the one he was taking out. His redish-brown hair probably reminded people about a fire. "Yes I'm a teacher. I teach music classes." The man commented with a smile on hi face.

kneeling down some " what exactly is that green thing "she asks then smiles abit at the word music her red eyes lighting up " aww that's something our races do have in common "she remarks then adds a bit of a hum at the end .

Running-Bear held up the plant. "It's mint." He answered before popping into the hole he made for it. He then covered it with dirt to to help it grow. "All races have what are called universal truths. Music and language are two of them along with marriage, reproduction, and may other things." The man commented.

" i would not count the belief in marriage the same among us so what exactly does this mint do "she replies looking at the plants abit like a child looks at a new animal or word in a book .

John turned to the girl. "All cultures believe in some type of union. Marriage is a generic term for this union." He commented. Some people called them lovers, others call them mates. "Mint helps with the stomach and chest pains." The man commented.

"How long ago did you leave?" he asked, wondering how much she knew of earthly things. "Will you ever go back?" he asked curiosly when she said she would always love the ocean. Realizing he was asking a lot of questions -questions that might be personal- he said, rather embarrassedly, "Sorry, I don't mean to pry," rubbing the back of his neck. She was so different, he couldn't help but find her intriguing.

With her bright smile, Aurora shook her head at Elija's apoplogy. "It's no problem. Questions are the key to learning, yes?" The first answer came easily, "Two years ago, my freshman year. Although my sister and I have explored a few times, nothing so long though." However, the second answer was a bit more difficult, as she wasn't sure what her future would be regarding living conditions. "I will return to visit, of course. But...I do not think I will ever live there again." She nodded once to herself; that idea seemed to fit what she aspired to do the most.

" oh you mean breeders but that only last till the womans pregnant where i come from "she remarks while studying the plant "does magic up here not work for that also " she asks with a foundness of the plants forming "could anyone grow this green and colorful things i see all over "she remarks in a questioning manner.
