((Er...I'm worried...Class is supposed to start at 3...People are normally there before then....No one showed up so I came back....I feel like there was a memo I missed out on... >_>;; ))

Mala looked around the marketplace and decided to approach the blacksmith, who looked friendly enough aside from his dreary expression. "Excuse me, sir?" she asked with an innocent smile, which only resulted in confusion from the male.

"I don't make female armor. Ya might try the place across town though." the man replied gruffly before raising an eyebrow for Van. "Unless yer lookin' fer Junior here." he said, causing a vein to pop on Van's forehead.

"Thank you, but I was hoping for directions - if you could help me. I'll be willing to pay a couple gold for your time." Mala said, having forgotten that gold wasn't so easy to come by outside of nobility or the church(es).

Turn left and go two blocks before making another left turn to find the pub on the corner." the man rambled suddenly at the sound of money. "Anything else? Weapons? Armor? I'll even try female armor, I just need the money~!" he sobbed.

"I need to know if there are any powerful mages residing here, ones who can remove curses and seals. Do you know of any, or a boat that is heading somewhere that does have one?" Mala asked. "Might there also be a temple to one of the holy gods around here?" For some reason, she felt more comfortable around temples than inns. To be fair, though, one practically saved her from starvation and a poor life on the streets.

The man looked around shiftily before leaning in to whisper to Mala. "If there were any mages like that here, they're either dead, in hiding, or have already left town. And the local temple's been trashed. Y'see, a real big shot demon moved in a few months ago and took over. I'd say your best bet would be to move on out of here."

"Thank you for the information." Mala said, pulling out the gold and handing it to the blacksmith. "I wish you well in the future." she said with a bright smile before turning to head off, knowing what she needed to know of this place. Knowing Mala, she would try to find a way to help these people during their plight before she and Van would continue their adventure - most likely to his dismay.

"I know of a few inconvenient 'blessings' on their part, which I could gradually administer over time until his luck kills him. Or I could try a healing spell when he sleeps, since white magic harms those with blackened hearts. Of course, it would take awhile so I'd need to do it when he's vulnerable." Mala murmured, hardly loud enough for Van to hear. "I think I have the sufficient skills needed for the job!"

"Well, you've got the front door, the back entrance, windows, you could dig a tunnel, but that would take too long, you could go down through the ceiling or something, or go in in disguise and get close to him all double agent-like." Van listed as he counted the choices off on his fingers. "Take your pick."
