((Oceanside))

The lifted voices were swallowed by the wind. Melisande was oblivious to all of it, still staring out over the water. Her wings angled absently against the push of the storm, but her curls tugged across her face gently...not whipping and lashing with the currents like they should have. Blue eyes lifted, and her lips parted, head tilting to the side.

It was as though the Muse was listening. A distant, half remembered song...

Pasha's eyes closed, and the wind smoothed her tears across her cheeks. Either she ignored the lashing spray of rain and the stinging grit of the blown sand, or she truly didn't feel it. Pale petals tumbled upwards on invisible spirals, and despite the energy of the storm, something within her grew still.

It was as though her heart was holding its breath. Melisande's hands curled into tiny fists, over her chest, and she leaned against the storm.

"I--" Blazes, but this storm was going to knock her teeth out if she kept opening her mouth! Squinting towards Lazarus and Lucia, she sighed, the breath torn from her lips and carried off into the wind. Alex glanced to Ebony and shook her head, grimacing as the storm seemed to grab her hair and tug. The Italian loved storms, but this was more like a violent explosion of unbridled wrath! "Just get the others out of here?" she asked of her friend before looking at the Sigel and Frei in front of her. Looking around for Kyou, she spotted the horned man and another Raevan she'd never seen - something soft and reminiscent of a flower - off in the distance.

Carefully getting off the booth (and slipping a little), she pushed the Chimeras into Lazarus' arms. "Pick one or put them in my truck to decide later, will you?" she called over the increasing gale of the storm to both the male and Lucia. "It's unlocked. We don't have time!" Things need to be packed and people dismissed before the sand began to tear their flesh off! Disentangling her arm from one of the Octokitten's tentacles, she pat the Sigel on the arm and jogged down the length of the stirring sand towards her boss. She wasn't going to leave without making sure everything was taken care of.

"Kyou...?" she asked, her voice lost to the wind but she had a feeling he wouldn't have heard her anyway. Alex looked at his face for a moment, feeling her heart sink; that was not a happy expression. Beyond him, she noted the female - a Sigel - with the most heartbreaking look about her, some brave bloom against the rage of the storm. The woman put her hand over her heart and looked up, wondering what it was the two felt. The storm was raging, as unusual and sudden as anything she'd ever--

Something tried to tug at her memory, but it was hard to think over the whipping sand against her skin and the way the wind tore its fingers through her hair. Unknowing, she took Kyou's arm with her own and looked helplessly back at those that were remaining, waiting as patiently as she knew how. Alex had a very bad feeling that she didn't know the half of what was about to happen.

((Delia=Drink Booth -> Leaving // Ebs -> Drinks Booth -> Leaving))

Looking like an oversized, waterlogged rat and smelling like a recently doused campfire sight, Cordelia shivered uncontrollably as her silver orbs locked with Fathle’s crimson gaze. She knew he was speaking to her, but perhaps because of the storm or her current state of shock, maybe both, Delia was viewing the man as if he were a television turned to mute. The basilisk reacted though when he reached out to push her drenched locks from her face, giving a tiny hiss and scooting away from him. The eagle guardian had been correct in saying he had nothing of use to her. In fact he held even less as she could not garner any sort of warmth from his physical presence, only cold.

At Alex’s request, Ebony gave a firm nod and ran for the drinks booth. From what she could tell, most everyone else had pretty much taken their chance and high tailed it out of there, so then it was just on the Brit to get her own charge and leave as well. She really did wish there was more she could do for the Lab, but Alex knew what they could handle and if they didn’t need her then they didn’t need her. Best not to be in the way. Quickly she located her smoky Frei, with Fathle of all people, and half slid her way into their midst just as the man was asking about her.

“Ebby!” Cordelia cried as she scrambled to bury herself into her woman’s warm embrace. “T-t-too cold…”

Cradling the girl close to her chest, “Shh shh, it’s okay. I’m here now.” In response, Cordelia only murmured and hugged her guardian tighter. Sighing, Ebony finally addressed the red haired guardian. Where was the eagle girl anyway? “Thank you Fathle, I can take it from here. Best you take care to get Ekundayo home straight away. Storm looks to be a nasty bugger.”

Gently nudging, Ebony was able to get the snake to get up and move back out into the rain towards their car. The whole time whispering promises of crackling fireplaces and completely dry and warm blankets as proper motivation. It worked and soon they were driving away from whatever tragedy was about to unfold.

((Thanks for a great ORP everyone! So sad about Zave though. crying ))

(( Oceanside >> Leaving ))

Ronan had wished he could offer a better apology. Perhaps give a token of forgiveness. But as practically strangers, only meeting this very day, his could not think of anything appropriate. Even if he had thought of something, the time for action had come and gone - now, it was simply too late.

Looking over at the suddenly turbulent sea in alarm, Ronan took a few unconscious steps backwards as he was lashed by the sand and rain, the one brilliant pink paint diluted and scoured off his body in an alarmingly short time. Usually undisturbed by storms, this one did not sit well with him, bringing up bad memories and stirring up feelings that Ronan quickly quashed, refusing to even give them a breath of space. On top it all, the rain just felt downright weird - like he had intruded on a very private space, seeing and feeling things he should not. He was getting out of here.

Bounding across the beach towards his stuff, Ronan saw some individuals staring up at the storm beseechingly, almost as if.... in mourning. He was definitely getting out of here. Towel and belongings taking flight just before he was able to arrive, Ronan snatched them out of the air, just barely grabbing the strap of his swim bag in time, grateful that his sandals had been caught up in the towel. Everything in hand, he took one last look back at the party site - so cheerful and festive when he had arrived, now in ruins from the wrath of this strange storm.

Tearing his eyes away, Ronan set his feet in motion, heading towards home.

Pick one? Even though he knew much of the beach party's events, this part, the chimeras being prizes for the shell collecting contest, was completely unknown to him. Crimson eyes darted towards the foxfish and the octokitten warily, not sure which to pick. Although before he could actually pick one, both Chimeras ended up in his arms as Alex headed off. The foxfish was behaving at least, leaning onto him with it's fins hung over the Sigel's arm. The octokitten however, was not. As if missing Alex's embrace, or maybe he's just holding it wrongly, the cat and octopus mix creature squirmed in Lazarus's arm, reaching it's tentacles outwards towards the leaving human and using the others to push away from the incubus. "Here you can have this!" Turning around to face Lucia, in which he couldn't help but notice how well endowed she was, he let go slightly and let the octokitten fall into her arms.

Now came another question, what is he going to do with the foxfish? He wondered as he stared at the little critter in his arms, who stared curiously back. Perhaps he could give it to Cordelia, since she was his partner after all. But as he raised his eyes to the drinks booth, he managed to see her go off with Ebony. Maybe another day...

Kyou only snapped out of his daze when Alex grabbed his arm. Golden eyes finally peeling off the chaotic clouds and trailing downwards to the warm hands holding his arm. A helping hand in the storm. "Alex." He only managed to mutter. Following the Italian woman's gaze, he looked back at the people huddled under roofed shelter, the beach had nearly completely emptied and more than half of the attendants of the beach party had already left. The winds continued to assault them and he knew that they shouldn't remain long outside, the beating waves raged dangerous close to them now. Looking around, he saw Melisande, seeming to be staring longingly into the storm, unmoving. With a final weary look towards Alex, he ran over and wrapped his arms around the Sigel's shoulders, leading her back to safety. Thankfully she did not resist as they ran towards shelter, she seemed dazed still, leaning softly in Kyou's arms.

When they finally reached back at the drinks booth, at least shielded from the rain temporarily, he let go of the Sigel. "I think... party time is over..." He said in between short pants, his body completely drenched in rain water now. "I'll bring Melisande back... Alex, I need you to take care of the rest. Have Lazarus help you pack up and bring him and the rest of the stuff back to the Lab." He instructed. Pasha looked terrible, he know where her new place is located, a warm shower, a hot cocoa and some rest would probably do her good. The storm seemed to be having some effect on her, was she and Zave close? He had to wonder, not knowing the relationship they had.

With everything settled, he pull a large towel and drape it over the muse as he lead her to his rented car.

Lucia looked at the guy with the chimeras in his arms and was surprised to see another raevan she didn't know -- a sigel at that. Before she had a chance to register it, the octopuss was thrust in her arms and he was turning away. The kitten's eyebrows raised slowly as the creature squirmed, and she had a moment of claustrophobia as he began to wrap his now slimy tentacles around the arm that she was holding him with. But then his grip loosened and he lay comfortably against her chest.

But wait -- she could HAVE him?! Lucia turned to look for Alex -- she didn't want a slimy -- a loud booming thunder and streak of lightning that went down to the water made her and the creature in her arms jump. Their cat ears went back at the same time, and the catopuss let out a hiss. Lucia reached her free hand up to stroke a tentacle and found that it had a soft fuzz.

She floated to Yuurei and Ty -- who had been waiting for her by the exit. "Let's go!" she said as she floated past them and to the car, wrenching open the rear door and tossing her body in.

Her humans were not far behind. "What's that thing?" Yuu asked as she looked over her shoulder while Ty was backing out of the parking spot.

"He's Calcifer. My catopuss." As the girls watched, Calcifer slid down Lucia's arm and plopped himself onto the seat beside the frei. Stretching, he shook himself off, each tentacle vibrating to fling excess water off of his body. Curling up next to Lucia's rune, the octopuss let out a soft, "Mew."

[[Leaving]]

Fathle watched the two walk away as the winds tore at their clothes. He had been mildly taken aback by Cordelia’s unfriendly reaction to him. However, he could not say that he was surprised. Fathle glanced down at his unused umbrella. He suddenly felt out of place. Whatever help he could have offered was a little too late. There was no point in staying. Fathle quickly jogged back toward the car, his lips quirking into a small smile when he could see Ekundayo pressing her face against the window. He quickly got into the driver’s seat and revved up the engine.
Are you okay?
“Yes, my dear. And everyone else is fine. No one needed my help after all,” he said with a small smile. “Are you cold, Ekundayo?”
Fathle asked as he absently turned on the heater before the Raeven had a chance to answer. Ekundayo wasn’t particularly cold but she didn’t disabuse her guardian. Something told her not to bother him right now.

“Did you have fun?” Fathle asked as he backed up carefully. Ekundayo loosened her hair and shook it till it fell freely around her tan shoulders; she carefully cupped her goldfish hairpin in her hand.
I… think so,” she said. Ekundayo turned her head and saw that her guardian was staring at her. She smiled. “Yes, Faye.”
She turned her head away and leaned back into her car seat and watched the rain slide across the window as Fathle zoomed out of the parking lot.
