"Don't make her worry. You shouldn't be out here. Plenty of monsters how here who want to do various things to you." He started carrying her toward the house.

Allegra struggled to try and get out of his arms. She was still crying. "But you don't want me... Was I bad? Is that why you leave and don't come back? Everybody gets to be with their daddies but me. Its not fair. Not fair at all. I try not to be bad. I try to be really good, that maybe if I was good enough you would want to be with me for a while. Was it something I did? Was I mean?" She doubted her daddy cared about her at all. Her little questions would have broken the hardest heart.

"First thing you need to know right off Allegra. Life isn't fair. You'll see that as you grow up. Sometimes you'll work hard and someone else will get the credit. Or you'll really like someone and they like someone else. Life is hard and it will definitely not be fair." He wiped at her tears with his toga.
"Secondly your not bad, and no matter what you do you can't make me stay or go anywhere. I come and go. My work calls for me to go where I am told, when I am told. You don't understand that because your Mommy calls the shots at work. I work for other people, so I have to do what they say. Like Piper. When the hospital calls or pages her she has to go to the hospital right? Well that's what happens with me. I have to go when they say. I have the added pressure that I do have some people under me. They answer to me, and I answer to someone more important then me. So I am responsible for my soldiers and have to keep them in line. Have to check on them. Give them new orders." They were at Piper's house.
"Go on in. Let your Mom know your back, and okay."

Allegra just stood and rubbed her eyes. "You'll come back and be my daddy right." Her little voice scared thinking he didn't love or want her. Her little lip trembling as she looked up at him. She wanted so much to be loved by her daddy.

"Tell your Uncle E I said to give you your birthday present now." He kissed the top of her head.
"Get in and lock the door. Tell Erebus to put on all the alarms." Andros' 'watch' had been going off for a while now. Urgent message after urgent message.

Allegra looked down at the ground. "You're not coming back are you? I don't want my present. I changed my mind on what I want." She opened the screen door and looked up at him.

"I can't say whether I am or am not." Andros replied solemnly. "I have to go where I am sent. Ask Erebus for your presents. You'll like them." He waited for her to go in.

She shook her head. "No. Its not my birthday yet and I changed my mind. All I want is a day with my daddy!!" she cried and then closed the screen door. She watched him through it, looking as if she would cry again. Alicia watched her carefully but she knew that she wouldnt be able to comfort her until Andros was gone.

Andros left. That would be the last any of them heard from the alien resistance fighting crew. That is until about three weeks later when Caelum and Orion knocked at the door. Orion hung back. Not sure if this was the place to come. They were civilians after all.
The brooding sullen looking Orion seemed to not only look like but be channeling Andros. His stance, his expression, his attitude. They all screamed Andros!

Piper opened the door and smiled. "Hey there Cal. Orion, gawd you've gotten big. I remember when you were little and used to pee in all my plants. You look just like your dad. Any news from him?"

The two boys looked grim. "Sorry ma'am. This is not a social call." Cal stated firmly. Orion shook his head.
"Caelum we shouldn't be here! They are civilians! We could be endangering them!"
"Orion we have no choice. Andros is missing. For quite sometime. We were wondering if you had any contact with him."

Piper shook her head. "No. The last we saw of him was three weeks ago when Alicia and Allegra were attacked." She knew that Cal harbored a huge crush on Alicia. They would have made an adorable couple but she had said she wanted no more soldiers.

Cal looked back at Orion. The looked they exchange was a dark one.
"Thank you ma'am." Cal said and stepped back.
"Orion....he may be dead. Let's face it. Three weeks."
"He's not dead! Neither is my Mom!" The teenager snapped angrily.
"I'll find them myself!" He declared and stormed off.
"Orion!" Cal called.

Piper shook his head. "The last one to see him was Allegra. She's here with Alicia if you want to talk to her and see if he said anything to her that may help you find him. Come on in. You're not going to get him to come back. He's as stubborn as his dad. Such a shame that both kid's of his turned out to be so stubborn."

Cal looked back at Piper. "I'm worried about them all. He's been spiraling out of control. Summer's been missing three weeks. Andros...almost three weeks. We saw him once. To inform him Summer's crew was captured or dead. A traitor among her crew." Cal shook his head.
"I don't know how to calm him. He's irrational, snappy and reckless!"
