"...." Kirai was amazed... she had never seen Riley before in that form. Rosette looked down at her hands, and clinched them shut. "A new name... a new history... a new lover... a new life..." She whispered to herself in awe. Raising her hand hesitantly to her cheek, for the first time in over two hundred years, it felt slightly warm. Her skin had a more life-like tone to it; now more ivory than snow white. The change was so subtle in appearance and in feel, most would never notice it... but Kirai did, and she internally rejoiced in it. Standing up, she looked at what she had done. It was selfish but looking at these people, she felt no guilt. Kirai had never thought that she would ever recover, she never honestly had believed that she could be complete again... In the midst of the dark cathedral, the only living being left within this church... Rosette smiled. Walking down the aisle, she made her way outside into the darkness. Only about half an hour was left until sunrise, and with her sensitive nosferatu eyes, Rosette could see the rays beginning to appear over the horizon. There's not enough time for me to make it back to Vaclav... I'll go back to the RCS building in the Outerlands. With that, and checking her silver pocket watch to see the exact time, Kirai left the cathedral... feeling, truly for the first time... that she was alive again.

Beware the blood soaked gardens..  Dani knelt by the priests body, studying the dead around her with sadness. So many died.. her hand fell, touched the mans cheek, and she froze.. her gaze sliding down to the dried blood that flaked onto her hand. Her heart rate flared, her eyes dialating as her breath came in short pants. just blood.. dont.. Panic took her, Dani jerking herself up and away as she scrubbed viciously at her hand to get the blood off. Her back hit the alter and she leaned against it, breath sawing in and out of her lungs harshly as the panic held her still.. her grey-blue eyes wild as she stared at the smudge on her palm. .. For there the Devil's rose will bloom.

Brannon, walked into the church, just as Dani leaned up against the alter. Running up to her, he stopped short. "Is everything alright?" He asked, before approaching what looked to be a crime scene.

"Blood is.. it never comes off!" Her body started to shiver, she didnt seem to realize someone else was near her at first. All that mattered was getting the smudge from her palm. A cool breeze drifted through the church, ruffling her hair.. calming her slightly. She blinked, her gaze focusing slightly as she took a slow breath.. flicking a glance at Brannon before stiffening, her head tilting away as it to avoid his direct attention. Like a sheild she pulled her badge, saying in a forced-calm tone. " This area is under investigation for a freak toxic occurance, you need to leave before i arrest you for invading a crime scene." It was a bluff, but given in a lethal pur.. only the sweat beading her brow, and the sharp tang of panic in the air, gave away the stress she was feeling. Things a human would never notice.

Brannon, had pulled out a handkerchief, and handed it to her, along with pulling out his RCS badge. "Captain Brannon Grey, of the RCS. I was sent to investigate as well." He turned his attention away from Dani, and towards the corpse. "What's the situation?"

She relaxed visibly as he turned his focus elsewhere, accepting the handkerchief and rubbing the blood off slowly.. attempting not to think about it as she studied the crime scene again. She knew a bit about the RCS.. they were considered higher rank than her own department, the specifics never explained about them. This.. she could deal with. Offering him back the kercheif she explained calmly. " It would seem a natural chemical, unknown to our department, has been released here.. more than likely as a test run. A full sweep has been preformed and no trace of the gas remains, the bodies have not been moved under your departments orders." all of this was, of course, things she had heard or gathered from the earlier team here.. she was actually forbidden to go near the RCS or its members.
Hearing a patrol car pull up outside she caught Brannon's shirt, pushing him into the shadows behind the nearest pillar.. placing his kercheif over his mouth firmly to keep him quiet and pinning him in place as she studied the Crime Scene. They wouldnt dare.. two Officers entered, stone faced as they approached the bodies.. Dani tensed, whispered quietly. " Dont move."

Brannon froze, Don't move? What the hell is going on? He stilled his breath, to the point that noticeable breathing was unnoticeable, as not to give away their position. Brannon turned his head towards Dani, and gave her a look of what the hell is going on.

She glanced up in time to catch his look, her expression turning from irritation to stark terror. the sound of one of the officers cursing made her flinch, gave her enough will power to look away as she fought off her fear. keeping her gaze firmly on the two men soaking the bodies with lighter fluid she held a finger to her lips, pointing towards the exit. Let him think she would explain outside.. so long as they made it out without detection, she could slip away from this man when the fire started. they always used fire to get rid of bodies.. shaking her head she pushed him to the next pillar, nudging him towards the door ruthlessly.

He got the idea pretty quickly, and followed suit towards the door way. He kept glancing back at the officers destroying the evidence. He would have to make a report about this to the higher ups. Moving quicker then he meant to, he pulled ahead of Dani, forgetting that he was supposed to hide his Vampire heritage and made it outside the door.

She glanced back, her hand reaching forward in warning.. and catching nothing but air. shocked she jerked her head towards the exit, mentally running through ways he could have made it out that fast. perhaps.. he was very quiet? shaking her head she ducked out a broken window behind the pillar, hardly breathing as she slipped past the broken glass and made her escape. she had not promised the RCS Captain anything, in truth she had likely just saved his life.. he would have to be content with that.
It was two blocks away that she stopped to rest, pressing herself against a wall deep in the alley ways. her arms were folded against the cool brick, her face hidden against them as she let the last of her tremors go. She knew the target now.. " .. but, why target the RCS.."

"I would like to know that too. Were those not the men of your unit?" Brannon asked, coming out of the shadows, from deeper within the alleyway. "Destroying evidence? Hiding a murder? What is going on?" He was starting to get a little upset. "What's the point in law enforcement if they are just going to be worse then what we are fighting?"
He looked at Dani, "I'm sorry, this anger isn't towards you in any way. It's just being raised in the family that I was born too... Morals tend to be a bit higher than the social norm."

Her heart stuttered, Dani jerking the gun from her left holster and aiming it at him as she fell into a fighting position.. her gaze focused, not on his face, but his heart. " I will not go into explanations on this, Captain Grey. you are too well connected, if you start poking around they will kill you. They would have done so tonight, if they knew you were there." she was.. well, not safe.. but less of a threat in their eyes. Keeping her aim steady she started to back away, her expression reserved. " I will handle that unit, just keep your head low."

"I think that I should have an explanation about what the hell is going on. After all, I was ordered here by HQ to investigate, and I won't leave until I have answers." He wasn't afraid of her pulling a gun on him. He actually expected it, considering what they had been through, and the fact the girl in front of him didn't seem quite that stable. "We should work together on this I think. After all I am quite certain that they can't kill me as easily as you would think."

He was even more messed up than she was. There was no other explanation for his words, his oddly relaxed expression as she held him at gun point. pushing a hand through her hair she made a mewling sound, putting her gun away as she turned back to him. she was curling her right hand around her left elbow, biting her lower lip as she shook her head. " I am sorry, but i wont agree to this." she would not risk it, no matter what he said. " You said you were not angry with me, but I never said i was not angry with you."

He just smiled. "Be angry with me if it makes you feel better. Doesn't change the fact that I am going to make myself apart of this." He moved towards the entrance of the alley. "How long until you think they get the idea that someone was actually in there? I am to take it they aren't complete idiots, and had the place either bugged or watched."
