Hey Qyp, can I go back and edit my characters original traits? I only ask this because when i made my character, I made him Full On Intelligence because in the step by step character creator, it says:
Quote: As a student, you start with 6 in all your abilities (base points) and have 20 points to distribute amongst them. Strength: This measures your raw physical power and affects your hand-to-hand taijutsu damage. Dexterity: This measures how agile you are, as well as your coordination skills and reaction time. This affects your dodge bonus and your ranged damage. Constitution: This is how hardy you are; how much you can endure. This affects your Hp. Intelligence: This is how smart you are in terms of knowledge. A higher Intelligence allows you to learn techniques faster.Wisdom: This measures your instinct, as well as your aptitude to the wild. This affects your MHp {mental health} also your dodge bonus. Charisma: This is how good your social skills are. Charisma is vital to successful interaction with NPCs and completion of missions. Chakra: This measures your reserves of chakra. This affects your Cp. I wanted to use a ninjutsu character, as you can tell by the way that my skills are set up. So really I shouldn't have a high Intelligence, but instead I should have boosted my chakra. I thought about switching to a Ninjutsu/Genjutsu mix, which I may still do, but I don't want stronger genjutsu than my ninjutsu.I can send you my revised copy with highlighted changes so it's easy to check.

Same here except with skills. I planned origionally on something but I kinda got into the genjutsu field by you all. So can I transfer all my ninjutsu points into genjutsu. I haven't used my ninjutsu points into anything yet so it hasn't benefited me so it should be fine. So can I do this?
8 ninjutsu ----> 8 genjutsu
Yeah, I guess I'm going to specialize in genjutsu I suppose.

Most of the jutsu you learn are DC= Roll+Int+Whatever else it deems. So int and chakra are both vital. Int lets you learn them faster, Chk lets you take less breaks.

Depends on the Jutsu I suppose. Say, Nara's Shadow Manipulation... that needs Intelligence. Considering how brainy they are, it would make sense for them to need that brain power they have to do the shadow manipulation. So like, I guess if the technique has something complicated about it, you should put in Intelligence.

Question:
For Ninja Skills(Mundane), do our modifiers innately increase the ability? I noticed that Mastur Sage(hate to point out names) added his modifiers onto his abilities without distributing any of the base points he had into them. (e.x. because his strength modifier is 4, his Athletics skill is 04)
But I also noticed that Qyp has high modifiers, yet no points in things such as Alchemy(although his int modifier is 19)
I was just wondering which one is correct.
edit:
Question 2:
If I had a melee weapon(such as the Zee clan gauntlets) and used taijutsu, what would the formula be for calculating damage?
my guess would be:
Weapon Damage(+ 1-2 for each point in Ninja Weapons(melee)) + Taijutsu Damage(+strength modifier)
To clarify; Base Attack Melee is used only when attempting to strike, to increase the DC of a roll to surpass an enemies Reflex DC, right? It doesn't add damage to an attack.. right? P:

After 13 year of DnD I can confidently say that mines is right.
As for the second, thats how my weapon works. Weapon damage+Taijutsu damage+strength

Most people forget about adding the modifiers to the mundane...
And... Sage, what the hell is up with that random image in your top Soma no Ko? You have a link to an image of what they look like, but then you also have... that.

You know, it is possible for the team to all specialize in the same thing. In fact, it's almost never true that the members of a squad all have different specialties. I would suggest you quit trying to balance our team, and just let everyone be whatever they want. It'll be more interesting that way.
