Isaac nodded as he followed the veterans to the stables. He had honestly never ridden a horse before. Hopefully, it would go relatively well, considering that he had always walked everywhere before. Maybe it would be nice, or it could be absolutely horrific. After selecting a decent sized chestnut from one of the unmarked stables that William mentioned, he kind of wondered what to do really. "Do I just jump on it? He's a big boy..." Isaac thought as he looked at the saddle, he jerry rigged a way to get his food pack to fit on the side. He bounced twice on his heels before lunging forward and pushing up with his halberd. The landing was rather rough but the horse didn't seem to mind it that much, which was particularly lucky. Isaac realized he could have thought it through much better. Had he scared it, it could have gone very badly. He balanced his halberd in front of him on the horse, he looked like he knew what he was doing.
In reality, no, Isaac had no clue. And while he didn't want to slow them down in the least bit, he didn't immediately ask about riding the horse. If he could learn by watching, then it would be rather smooth, but then, if he couldn't he would slow them down even more. "... Guys? I've never done this before..."
Emma was glad that Malkin was okay, as far as she could tell. And Tia seemed nice. Though she was anxious to go too, it was no surprise. Gene's input made it official. "Okay, I guess we can be off. And Gene, buck up! If you're boring I'll make you pay for it in unimaginable ways!" Emma said happily. It was hard to tell if she was serious or just making friendly banter.
Skipping out the doors she went straight to her own horse. Her own massive, loyal, battle-tested beast of burden. "Mendoza!! Who's my big beautiful horse!? Ready to go!?" Emma yelled happily as she let out the gigantic white mare. Mendoza was really a true monster, there was at least a hand-full of battles Mendoza caused more damage than some of the soldiers, and this was with Emma off doing her own thing. As she leapt up to mount her horse, she smiled and hugged Mendoza's neck. Mendoza whinnied at little.
Train grumbled on his way out, he had left his pack outside the cafeteria doors. This gave him time to say something to Malkin, "You, calm down. Whatever it is, it'll work out." Train said as he started to walk away. He hadn't even looked at Malkin's face, his aura was all over the place.
At the stables, Train silently mounted his black horse. He was decent sized, got Train from A to B, and was a little smarter than most horses. He seemed tiny in comparison to Emma's Mendoza, and Train's horse didn't have a name. It seemed introverted most of the time.

(Hey, where'd ya's go? Let it die and I'll have to hunt you down. Normally I'm the murderer, I'd like to hold my position.
Not actually serious, but really, hello? Echo, echo...)

((Yeah...school's in full swing...I'll be slower than usual.))
Yazira made her way back to the stables, re-checking the saddles of her team's horses. It wasn't long before she caught sight of Malkin making his way unsteadily to the barn door. She was there in an instant, offering her hand to him, her expression very gentle. "You're right." she said quietly. "I probably did overstep my bounds...I...I guess I was worried. I didn't know those people. But I didn't know you either." A short, half-smile graced her stern features before she slipped something into his hand. The riegns to the black stallion's bridle. Without a word she stood back and jumped into the saddle of her own horse. A thick, squarish battlesteed with a broom-cut mane. Its coat shon copper and its mane and tail were a dirty cream colour. "I'll teach you the verbal commands on the way...but are you sure you're up for this mission?" She had noticed he looked very pale, as if he had been given a big scare. Shoba appeared from one of the stalls where he had been resting. He whined and poked at Malkin with his nose.

Malkin shook his head, surprised to be at the stables. Half-hearing Yazira's apology, Malkin simply nodded. Glancing at the reigns in his hand, he stared. He was still a little numb from suddenly realizing he was no longer human, and that it was possible fiends never meant to kill humans. Something didn't click correctly, but he still didn't have the last piece of the puzzle. Feeling something poking his back, he looked up at the black horse. Smiling, Malkin burst into heavy laughter, actually dropping to his knees, out of breath. "Oh the humor. The demon on the black horse. Oh gods, the irony. It's killing me." Patting the stallion on the nose, he cinched on the saddle, humming a soft lullaby. He didn't know where it came from, and he was pretty sure he had never heard of it before, but it was sad and it suited him at the moment. "Anar'Alah, anar'alah belore..." he whispered softly. A meaning was in those words. But he couldn't tell what they meant. Swinging up onto the stallion, Malkin shook his head. These things were unimportant right now.
((Oh yeah, I so took the first line of Lament of the Highborne. Blizz is gonna kill me.))

((It's not your fault, Kairi, I need to be more active. I just haven't had much energy again lately. I sleep at night, go to work, come home, and fall asleep right away again. Then I wake up with only two or three hours to spare before I actually need to go to sleep again... Pretty sure there's something wrong with me... In fact I only just woke up today, I think I slept for almost 13 hours. That's not excessive is it? Wow, I am totally confused... I could have sworn I had made another post since the last one that I see... Maybe I wrote one out and forgot to actually post it....))
"Don't worry about it, Isaac. It's fairly easy. These horses are trained to follow your commands. Wanna go forwards, just tap its sides with your heels. Wanna go faster, do it again. Wanna stop, pull back on the reins. For left or right just pull a bit in those directions." William said. "Now, let's get going." William put his horse into a steady walk, waiting for Isaac to get used to horse riding a bit before going any faster than that. He knew he had to ease the rookie into these things, but on the inside he was excited. He wanted to put his horse into a full gallop and fly the whole way there, adrenaline pumping through him. Too bad he knew better than that... So He simply walked out through the gates, which had been opened for them already.
Matt walked into the stables area, which is where Malkin had turned out to be going. He didn't say anything to his teammates, not yet, but he did offer them his usual grin and a little salute. He went in and retreived his horse. Like Tyrone's it was a large draft horse. More suited to heavy work and endurance than speed it suited Matt and his large and heavy frame just fine. Matt led the large brown steed out into the open and hefted himself into the saddle that it already wore. He didn't bother checking the straps or anything, he knew very little about that sort of thing, and trusted the stable hands to have done the job properly anyways. "Alright, we ready to move out?" He asked as he moved the brown animal closer to his teammates.
Seeing that both of his companions for this mission were prepared Ty threw his horse into a steady gallop. He didn't intend to wear the animal down by running it the whole trip, he just wanted some distance between himself and the Corps. before he slowed down and took it steadily the rest of the way. He did hope that his teammates, and my how the thought of that single word grated on him, would keep up with him though.
Gene entered the stable right behind Emily. He went in and gathered his horse, a lean dappled mare. He had never named it, but Matt had once jokingly called it Spot. Gene supposed that was as good a name as any, really. He brought the animal out into the open and inspected all of the straps on its saddle. He then set about strapping his large box-like weapon to it. He mounted and set his bow across the saddle in front of him, so that he could nock, draw, and loose in only a moment. Well, I'm ready. And I'm sure Emily's as ready as could be expected. Where is that other over excitable woman, Tia?

"Ehh... Sorry I'm slow." Tia apologized while entering the stable. Tia spotted an empty horse and ran to it and then jumping up and pushing off against a support pole for the stable building and up onto the horse, though she was sitting on it backwards. "Sorry about that..." Tia said quietly to the horse and lifted her legs up and spun quickly so she faced forward to the correct position. "Okay, I'm ready." Tia said to Emma and Gene, directing the horse after them.
Kiro corrdinated his horsed to follow calmly behind William's horse's path and then finally catching up to him. Kiro was taking his time. It had been awhile since he went anywhere so he wanted to enjoy it. "So, what do you think it'll take to kill this one?" Kiro asked William, he was referring to their target. "I guess the traditional Kyto and you just slash the crap out of it?" Kiro suggested.
Enyo had made no extra movements, she was the type to just quietly following behind everyone else or wait on standby for them to be prepared to depart. In her mind she had been continuously going over what the best possible strategy of attack would be against the fiend they were assigned to. "Train." Enyo said to get his attention, "I'm ready to leave at any moment, let's catch up to Tyrone."

((An Idea has occurred to me. I have communicated this idea with one of our number, a roleplayer of no small regard to myself, and they agree. The idea is this: That characters of the same teams be posted in using corresponding font colors. I believe this will make things easier to keep track of. I am asking for your opinions on this, though, and will not implement it unless we have majority agreement. If you agree we also need to decide which teams will be which colors. Current Votes: Stoic: For Griffin: For Azure: Kairi: Kyground: ))

((Well, for the team colors thing we have 4/5 for and one vote uncast. So we've already got the majority. Now the question is what colors are going to be assigned to which teams. Red, blue, and green seem like obvious color choices. I want to reserve black for people that are not assigned a team, or for when they are not participating in missions. That's why I was thinking maybe gray or indigo for the remaining team. What do you guys think?))

"No point in wasting our abilities if we don't need to." William said. He was starting to calm down already, just being outside of the gates. He guessed it was just the anticipation getting to him before. "The mission letter just said that it was "insectile". We don't know in what way, though. It could fly, it could burrow, we have no idea yet. I figure we'll begin with a basic flank and hack strategy. If that doesn't work we can start to get tricky." As William finished speaking he turned back in his saddle to look at his other partner, Isaac, wondering how the young Hunter was faring his first time on horseback.

(I'll wait for the new color scheme to post. Anyway, I vote indigo over gray. It's too easily unnoticed and too light. Otherwise, agreed on all the others. Though which group gets what color is another story.
