Altoids sours in Raspberry and citrus work pretty well. Altoids also makes ginger candies now that I've heard work pretty decently too.
Babies R Us sells the preggie pop drops in the sour flavors.
They also have green tea and lavander lollipops along with the sour flavors.
Generally Lemon and Ginger SMELL and TASTE tends to quell sickness.
But you can try eating a bit before you get moving. Like BARELY sit up and eat some crackers in bed. Try goldfish crackers or something if choking down handfuls of dry saltines seems like a pain in the butt. Then if you can get yourself stable try a non sugary crunchy cereal (right now I've been doing honey nut cheerios, my hyperemesis sorta backed down into normal morning sickness after the 6th month).
Sometimes just setting an alarm and getting up earlier to eat something before your stomach realizes it's TOTALLY empty can help too. I know if I go to bed before 8:00 I'm up at 5:00 because I NEED to eat.
If you have MORE than just morning sickness (hyperemesis) like I did none of this will work though and you'll probably need the nausea medication. I dropped 13lbs in two weeks due to being sick all day and not being able to keep food down. I didn't even know you could throw up the contents of ONE lollipop.

29.5 weeks along, finally. ^.^ And, I have a doctor's appointment on Wednesday (the 14th.)
At the moment, I'm pretty tired so I won't say too much about it.. just that I still love it, but definitely notice a general change in the third trimester. My Energy is sapped, like in the first trimester, and her kicking gets more... violent? (She actually caused me pain for the first time, about 10-20 mins ago.. she's caused me quite a bit of discomfort, and being kicked in the bladder DOES hurt a bit, but this was my pelvic bone, bladder and cervix, a whole bunch of HARD kicks, and my cervix is a little pissed off at the moment because of it.)
I still love being pregnant and, whilst I really want to see and hold my little one and there ARE a lot of discomforts now (my tummy feels so HEAVY, and I have some trouble breathing sometimes due to the increased size of my uterus; and I need to pee all the time.. and cannot eat as much at a time without it actually hurting), the prospect of another 10.5 weeks of pregnancy seems nice.

If you want to be able to eat as much, I suggest taking Tums. That's what my doctor told me and it helped A LOT. She said not to take rolaids, however. I don't understand the difference.

for heartburn you CAN take: Tums, Mylanta, and Rolaids (Calcium carbonate based antacids)
HOWEVER, all three of those can cause MORE heartburn later. Calcium shuts off your acid production and therefore if you eat the food just sits in your stomach and essentially...er...rots and then makes for even WORSE digestion/heartburn later.
ALSO Calcium carbonate/calcium in general can make you VERY VERY constipated if you're chowing down on it to kill heartburn.
If you have atrocious hearburn your OB/CNM can perscribe Tagamet or Zantac.
I'm on Tagamet now, and LOOOOOOOVVVEEEE it.

I'm still 2 centimeters dilated (inside) but now I'm around a 3 (outside). My cervix is still very ripe and soft. The baby is measuring around 8lbs plus or minus from the last ultrasound.
BECAUSE of that Dr. Read (the maternal-fetal specialist who does the U/S) will be recommending that if I'm no further along by monday 19th (my last appointment with my CNM before my due date) that I be induced on or before the 22nd (my due date).
He says that this is because clearly everything is favorable for labor and because I had such a long labor the first time they don't want to risk a 9+ pounder.
I'm a BIT miffed at the whole induction thing and part of me would like to talk everyone out of that idea. HOWEVER, that's only because my previous induction sucked so bad, and really there were other factors that made that labor suck and be long (the not getting out of the bed for THIRTYSIXHOURS being number one).
This time I'd STILL even be able to do waterbirth if I wanted EVEN with an IV. The CNM told me the only thing that would keep me out of the BIRTHING tub is lots of meconium, infection, or some other physical problem with me or the baby (low heartbeat etc. etc.) AND EVEN IF everything else was a no go I would at very very very VERY least be able to get up and walk around either with intermittent monitoring or telemetric monitoring.
So, given all of the above, I am a bit happy about the proposed induction idea because 1. Been there done that, it's not the end of the world and 2. At least I have a FINITE time I'll have the baby.
Dr. Read said after my internal exam Monday Kathleen may either just schedule me for the 22nd or ask me when I'd like to do it. I guess, if everything is favorable, I'll just say "Is it okay for me to come back tomorrow morning?" (on the 20th).

We're due around the same time and mine's only about 6 pounds..

8 lbs is only the 65th percentile.
When you have women delivering 10lb babies.

Six pounds seems pretty tiny to me. whee
We know a guy that was almost 11 pounds when he was born, totally a vaginal delivery as well. But his whole family is pretty big so for his mother, it wasn't a big deal.
Me, I'm hoping for between seven and eight pounds on my first one. Nice healthy size and shouldn't be too hard for me to deliver. lol Well, that's the theory anyway. ;]
