Colche snuffled. She had felt sad before but it usually came with fear, she had never had the heart wrenching task of knowing somone might not come back. The waiting was pulling hard at her heart. She felt sick and exhausted.
"Jus' wan' mommy bck" she manages between sobs. She had been through alot in that little life of hers. Livign in fear of light, tortured and raped, molested by men with sick disspossitions, but this, this hurt more even than that, at least that was in the past, she could think of nothing but happiness, living in the sun, running and sunbathing and playing in the sand or the sea, eating what ever she wished. Simple things that people take for granted. Taking a bath, having a pet sleeping in a bed. Having a mother. That most important of things, the one person that had given her everything else. Yet, she didn't know if she would ever see Aubrey again, would everything else go with her? Would she be put in the dark again? Aubrey was her protector her saviour, what happened if she was gone? "please.." she mumbled, knowing full well Bobby couldn't do anything about the situation at hand but just asking, just incase she could.

Bobby clung tighter to Colche. This was all wrong, the cheetah did not deserve this. Even though she didn't know about the young woman's past, she did not feel it could have been a good one. The clues added up to a very difficult past, but on this Island -with Aubrey too-, Colche had found happiness... and now that happiness was being threatened. It didn't seem right.
The pig's anger was starting to surface. Bobby was getting mad at the whole situation. She was mad at the storm that so conveniently created this problem. Mad at the attacker for taking Aubrey away from Colche. Mad at the guards who wouldn't allow the cheetah to go in and see her 'mommy'. Mad at herself for beind so helpless. Mad at Billy, because he was always the root of her anger and although she didn't have a reason at the moment, she was mad at him as well.
But, for Colche's sake, Bobby refused to let her body show it. Her eyes were flashing a dangerous rage. The woman's voice and movements were still calm and tender, held in check for sake of the young woman cuddled in her lap.

Bobby was always a comfortable person, and slowly all that exhausted, stress caused energy seeped out of her and she couldn't keep her eyes open. She was soon fast asleep her shoulders and head tucked in to the pig womans lap, and as she slept she dreamed.
It was dark. Why did dreams always start with the dark? This was a dream wasn't it? She was waiting for the lights to come on. Slowly a tower swam in to her view. A prince on a white horse galloping to the rescue. She waited, the hair was always auburn, and curly, it always flowed like the waves when it came over the edge. It was black, and no curls were remotely present. She looked closer, the prince climbed and entered the window. Then, she was there, in the little room, it looked very like her duplex only round at the edges instead of square. The prince was beside her and he tugged at her elbow. The man for a moment had no features, that frightened her at first but not half as much as it would. The mans face, which before held no ill will to her turned in to an evil smirk. "Noone will rescue you this time." The words came from no where, but in this stone room there as no where to run, a hole opened in the floor and down she went, her body cracking upon the hard wooden steps. She met the damp wall with a head splitting crack. It was no prince at all, she was back in the darkness. "No!" she called, unable to shake herself from this nightmare, the light dimmed above but the door wasn't closing, a sillouette of some huge creature, maybe a man, maybe a beast lurking in the door way. The steps creaked as it came down. She could smell him, it was a man, she just didn't know who. He leant down and grabbed her hair. This had happened before, she remembered it, he breathed in a great raspy scent, the smell of her own hair wafting to her nose. "Mommy said no!" she stated struggling to free herself from the monsters grasp. "Your mother can't be with you any more."
The little cheetah girl screamed waking in a shudder of tears and heat. She looked around frantically. She was in her tent, on the hill, in front of the labs. "Mommy!" she cried out her body stuck to the floor as she felt paralised unable to move from the spot she had rolled from. She panted, she couldn't truely sweat any more but she felt boiled, her fur on end. "Mommy" she whispered in a quieter tonenow managing to curl up and weap. The beastly man was wrong, Aubrey would wake up, Pyroth had promised.

It had been the middle of the night when Colche had stolen away from her perminant vigil in her tent. She had to get somehting. Nestled in ehr duplex was her gift to Aubrey. She had worked so hard on it maybe she would be awake for her day.
She had paused only to feed ehr bunny and grab her picture ebfopre running back for the labs. Setting it carefully benath her pillow she smiled. When the sun came up tomorrow would be motehrs day. Aubreys day. They would let her in right? *she nestled down in her sleeping bag hoping.

She had awoken even before the sun hd come up. Those animal instincts which burned in her chest told her the sun would kiss the horizon soon enough and it would be Aubreys day.
Her beautiful blue eyes caught the sun as she sat in the opening of her tent the suns rays reflecting off her perfect blue eyes making them shine like big blue stars. She smiled, giving a heavy sigh. She held tightly to a peice of some what crumpled paper, but she seemed very unwilling to let it go. Her gaze, fixed upon the building she smiled, she had a good feeling about today. It was Aubreys day.

The trek to the labs was a long one as the guards drove towards the labs. Sabin, with Zachary in tow was lead down familar hallways and to the elevator. Sabin and Zachary were brought into an observation room. A large, clear plastic wall seperating one side of the room from another.
The light was lit up to be brighter than usual while the room behind the glass was dark, barely lit.
This was obviously designed to be more of an interigation than an observation. "What happened?" were the words of a rather familar voice.

Sabin swallowed nervously as he was escorted into what could be described in no better way than an interrogation room.
He shuffled, testing the strength of the cuffs that had been placed around his own wrists with a bitter expression. Zach was still unconscious and had been unceremoniously dumped on the floor beside him.
Sabin raised his gaze to the darkened room across from him. He kept his voice level, but there was no disguising the irritation in his voice.
He chose his words carefully. He knew the voice there, one that had not had the dignity to talk to him directly since his demotion. He wasn't stupid. He knew that Moreau had found out enough to suspect Zach.... which was exactly what he didn't want.
Sabin didn't know for certain that Zachary had hurt Aubrey.... but he had had suspicions. Especially after he had seen the placements of the jeeps on the road that night. But it wasn't his fault.... it wasn't either of their faults...
As Sabin took his breath to begin to speak, Sabin didn't notice, but Zachary began to regain consciousness - Moreau had sent a second signal to the chip in his neck to rouse him.
"Zachary had been due for his second change. As policy, I retreived him from the village uncosncious to administer the third injection. Because of his volitile reactions to the previous change, I thought it might be a better idea to keep him in the labs during the process.
However.... when the power went out... I thought that that might not be such a good idea. I got him out of there as quickly as I could. I... didn't expect his transformation to begin as soon as it did. I was on the road.... " Sabin shook his head. He was never good at lying, and he didn't know how much or how little Moreau knew. He would be better off if he just told the truth.
"It... surprised me. I glanced back and... something hit me... maybe his tail. I remember running off the road.... and I woke up .... I don't know how much later."

Much as he'd just been knocked unconscious, he regained it to a sharp and increasingly familiar feeling in his neck. A spasming of his muscles was cut short by some sort of constriction around his whole body. He opened both eyes suddenly, but had to close them again when the bright light hit his eyes. His brain was still in the same place it had been the moments before he'd been zapped. It seemed Sabin had zapped him as soon as he'd looked away at the sound of cars, and now he was...
Where was he?
It was hard enough just to get a better view of where he was and notice how un-like the village the little the room he was in looked. He tried to move his arms and legs only to discover they wouldn't budge from the rope and chain he was bound in. Sabin unraveled a good deal of the story that was missing from his memory. There were quite a few questions on Zach's mind, ranging from who the doctor was speaking to, all the way to what he was doing wrapped up in a puzzle of rope and chain that would baffle Houdini. From his awkward spot on the floor he gave a wheezy sound of confusion, but any attempt to put his confusion to genuine English words seemed to fail.

Moreau looked strait at Sabin. "Lets say that is the truth... providing I believe that you had no part in this Dr. Duvert."
Moreau looked over Zachary as he roused. His lip curled angerly. "Then the question begs to differ Mr. Bloodstone... why did you harm Aubrey?" Moreau wasn't stupid, he knew that very likely Zach hadn't been in control of his own actions. But Moreau had learned how to tell when someone was lying to him, and the best way to get the truth was to confront him.
See if he lied...
"Why shouldn't I put you down?" he asked to both Zach and Sabin coldly.

Sabin's jaw clenched and a growl boiled in his chest at the threat. "I had no desire to see Dr. Lockheart hurt." He said angrily.
Sabin eyed the moving Zach at his feet, hoping that the man had more caution than to be irritable at Moreau. Sabin knew that Moreau was ... off. IN a very different way than himself, but it made him a dangerous individual. And he was quickly slipping even further down away from Sabin's good graces.
"I haven't even seen her since you turned down her... offer." Sabin grimaced.
"I am not one to beg, Doctor. I know I was chosen to work for you for a purpose, and you can not question my loyalty to the project. I still... disagree... with my suspension, given that it only stemmed from an overenthusiasm in working with the serums. But I do good research. I have good, creative ideas, and I had had my team doing good work into investigating the possible causes of the ... negative mental side effects of the serums."

Zach stopped struggling, quickly realizing the futility of trying to loosen steel chain. Moreau's curt accusation would have floored him, had he not already been on the floor. It had barely crossed his mind that he could have had anything to do with the attack. He wasn't the only person who was strewn in blood, after all. If he'd done something as serious as attack Aubrey, at least he ought to remember it. His jaw worked a moment before he was overtaken with the panicked babbling of the falsely accused, teeth glinting in the bright light as he spoke.
"Put me down? It wasn't me! I haven't seen Aubrey for... for months, I tell you! This has to be a mistake... It was Jamal... him or the guy with the brown fur and the blood... I have nothing against Aubrey, honestly - maybe it was Kaveri, she was with the body! Please..."
He breathed heavily for a moment, yellow eyes wide. Whoever that voice belonged to was willing to kill him. Loyalties be damned - Zach couldn't function under actual pressure. He rolled his gaze to Sabin, utterly lost. Negative mental side effects? The whole island was the product of one! He gave a pathetic twitch of his limbs again. He broke out into a nervous grimace as his movements were once more cut off by the tight bindings. Rather than addressing the source of the mercilessly questioning voice, he looked to Sabin. "Wh-what's with all the rope?"

Moreau gave Sabin a look. "Don't talk to me like that Sabin. This entire situation was started by your insubordinance. But I hope your willing to make amends by now. Unless you'd rather live the rest of your days among... them." Moreau sneared.
"As far as you go Mr. Bloodstone, as your so aptly named. Our tests were conclusive, it was Aubrey's D.N.A. all over your torn clothes. We know that it was with those claws which Dr. Duvert gave you that you almost ended a woman's life." Moreau's voice was cold, angry.
"So stop denying it." he said.

At Zach's query Sabin just jingled his own manacles frustratingly at him.
Sabin glowered at Moreau. "My insubordience? How in the hell is this my fault?! I was just doing as I was supposed to do. My research was suspended, but I thought that I was supposed to be still doign duties. Like injections. I thought I was being careful. How in the hell was I supposed to know that Aubrey was going to be out in that storm?"
Sabin looked between the two of them. "I believe that Zachary was unaware of his... actions. Moniters showed that he struggled with adverse reactions to the serum after his first change. It only stands to reason that it escalated with the second, larger dose, not to mention complications with the successful regrowth of his limb. Over the course of a matter of minutes. The directed combination serum needs tweaking. Especially after the results of the psychological studies."

Zach continued to glance between Sabin and the dimly-lit room beyond the glass where the cold voice was obviously coming from. Seeing handcuffs on Sabin's hands did nothing to ease the bizarrity of the situation. Both of them were apparently being accused.
"I-I what? That's.... but that's impossible..." his voice seemed to die in his throat. It was too much. His mind was reeling and couldn't seem to get a firm grasp on just how serious the accusation was. It felt unreal. Sure, he'd chased a few people, but never had he been anywhere near killing them. Things were getting far out of his control. Sabin had given him another injection and he had gone crazy. But Sabin hadn't attacked Aubrey, Zach had. He repeated himself, weakly. "This is a mistake..."
"I don't remember most of Saturday," he chimed in. He looked up at Sabin again as the man spoke, still unable to fully understand the severity of the situation. There was a word no one wanted to hear. The way Sabin was talking about the changes so businesslike was disturbing. All Zach remembered in regards to them was horrible pain. "... Wait, what do you mean, 'complications'?"

"I meant by your little "pet" project in the first place. But that isn't the point." Moreau gave an angry glare. "Didn't Sabin explain that compared to most of our subjects, who have relatively "safe" serums. Yours being a mix of some many creatures is.... experimental at best."
"Of course Dr. Duvert, you want to come back don't you? Probably pretty bad I'd say. Perhaps enough to regret some of the things you've done?" Moreau gave a smirk, he wanted Sabin to come to him. To ask for his position back.
