((Yep! A brand new one too - fresh from a March 05 Letter!!! ^-^ )) Jaeshan stood up, holding Metapod in his arms. Mightyena was sleeping soundly, but Nidorino stirred as his trainer rose. "Do you want to help?" he asked, looking at the pinkish Pokemon. It gave a curt nod, and Jaeshan smiled. "Good. We need Metapod to evolve," he said, setting her on the ground a few feet from him. "To do this, she needs to build up her experience level a bit more. All you have to do is give her light Tackles, and let her tackle you back, okay? But go gentle, I know you're a lot stronger than she is right now." Nidorino looked pleased by the comment, and faced Metapod, its face determined. I must make my trainer proud, he thought as he dashed into Metapod, knocking her back a bit. She wriggled and managed to bump him back, and the two repeated this process over and over. Jaeshan shouted encouragement to both Pokemon, Mightyena glancing up now and then to see what his friends were up to. Nidorino was actually enjoying himself, slowly opening up to his new companions. Helping someone become stronger was not only a good thing to do, but it was enjoyable. In his excitement, Nidorino rammed into the coccoon Pokemon slightly harder than he meant too, and Metapod toppled, rolling over a few times before coming to a stop. Nidorino's ears drooped, he was expecting a scolding, but Jaeshan merely patted him on the head. "Good work," he said, and walked over to Metapod who was squirming as she tried to get up. Jaeshan reached down to pick her up, but stopped when he saw a large crack in her shell. His heart pounding, he tracked the mark over with his finger. "Nidorino hit you to hard," he mumbled, wishing he had a potion with him. Nidorino nosed his way over, looking sorry. Jaeshan turned to look at the newest addition to the party, but suddenly Metapod let out a cry. Mightyena jumped up from his place, and darted over to see what the commotion was about. From the crack in the shell, a light glow had started. It soon spilled out, flooding them with light. The crack in the shell grew, and it slowly fell away from the figure trying to fight its way out. The white light subsided, and Butterfree stood before them, looking extremely happy.

Kilik coughed when the train shot foreward. The boy didn't have much to do. Slowly, he pulled out his PokeNav and looked through his contacts. "Boss...Nina...Dad..." his eyes stopped dead on his Father's number. The boy gulped. What would his dad think about his joining of Team Rocket? Would he be proud or would he be disappointed in his boy? He clicked the 'Call' button and lifted the PokeNav to his ear.
"Hello?" said a soothing voice. Kilik smiled.
"Hey there....Dad."
"Kilik? My goodness! How are you, boy?" His father seemed ecstatic that he had called. Although Kilik couldn't see it, Mr. Ranmo was on the verge of tears of happiness.
"I'm in Kanto right now, Dad. How's your mission going?" Kilik looked at his reflection in the window.
"Ah, son. Never go to the Whirl Islands. Horrible place that is. Of course, we did find traces of a legendary Pokemon."
"Really?" Kilik's eyes lit up, "Which one?"
"Lugia. Now, I know you like books, so while I was here, I got you a book about the Legendary Pokemon. I'll put it on your shelf, all right?" Kilik didn't say anything. His nails dug into the seat, and he was begining to feel uncomfortable. "Son? Are you still there?"
"Yeah, Dad..." his voice trailed off, "I...I don't think I'll be coming home anytime soon." It was his father that was silent now. After around a minute, which felt like an eternity, he said something.
"Why is that, son?" his voice seemed a bit shaky.
"My...boss may want to keep me here..." The train continued to shoot along the track, and the old lady across from him coughed.
"Your boss? You have a job?"
"Dad...I'm part of..." the boy looked around, hoping nobody would hear what he said next, "Team Rocket." he finally admitted. A heavy sigh came from the other side.
"Kilik...I never thought...you, of all people...But," This had somewhat lightened Kilik's spirits, "It's your decision...I'm sure you're a..." another silence, "great member of the Rockets." There was a sudden outburst of another person on his dad's side. "I must go, Kilik. Call again, okay?" The boy bit his lip, hard.
"Okay, Dad." He smiled weakily.
"I love you, son. And I will always be proud of you."
"I...love you too, Dad." Kilik swallowed the lump in his throat.
"Bye, son." there was a click, and the line went dead. Kilik hit the 'End' button on his PokeNav and put it into his pocket. He slumped foreward and ran his fingers through his hair. Koffing looked up at his trainer with a look that said 'Cheer up, Kilik'. The boy patted the Pokemon on the head, a weak smile appearing on his face.

After searching where they could in the city for the longest time, neither the girls, nor Growly, nor Bitey could find the slightest trace of Kilik. Nina sighed exasperatedly.
"Kasiya..." she said, "I don't think he's in the city. We would have seen him if he was."

((You want more donations? I just practically gave you the Bunny Luv! whee )) "Well, what should we do?" Kasiya asked, fighting to keep Bitey from clamping onto her head. "If he just up and left the city, someone should have seen him. The only problem is, which gate did he take?"

"There's one way that we can find out," she responded, looking toward the southernmost gate. "Let's see if the guard did what we had asked."

Kasiya nodded. "But perhaps we should split up," she said. "You go talk to your friend in the south, and I'll go see what I can find out east. We can just call each other if we find something out. What do you think?" she asked, recalling Bitey, but keeping Growly at her side. She couldn't resist giving Mihoshi a tickle, either.

"That would be a logical solution," Anna replied. Nina agreed. "All right then. I'll call you if anything's up." She squatted down and scratched Growly on the head, and gave him a kiss. She got to her feet and turned, and walked down toward the gate with Flareon and Anna at her side.
"Priii!" Mihoshi said.

Please be careful, Nina, Kasiya thought, as she headed east. Growly put his nose down and started tracking him. Kasiya looked at him warmly, glad he had turned out to be such a fine Pokemon. She thought of the Fire Stone in her bag, and wondered when it would be the right time to evolve him.

((too true...touche, Anya.))
The train began to slow down as it pulled into Pallet''s new station. The machine hissed as it stopped. There was a click. "Please do not exit the train until you hear a short whistel from the front." Again, Kilik was the first to the door, holding Koffing under his arm. There was a quick blow of the whistle and Kilik was out of the door like lightning.
"He''s going to kill me for being so late..." he groaned, running out of the station and up Route 1. He jumped over a ledge, continued running through the grass, and ignored the other trainers. When he reached Viridian City, he stopped to take a breather. He slowly walked up to the side of the Pokemon Center and placed his hand on the wall, gulping his saliva every couple of seconds. His black hair covered his eyes. When he regained composure, he pulled out his PokeNav and called Giovanni. "Sir? Where are you?"
"Go to the Gym!" he barked, hanging up. Kilik sighed, put the Nav into his pocket and ran toward the Gym. As he reached the door, he tripped over his trenchcoat, and fell over. Quickly, he got up and brushed the grass from his clothes. He opened the door of the Gym and walked inside. It seemed like a normal Pokemon Gym. The arena in the middle was just the same, but at the very top of the Gym was a room with a bright white light. Kilik could see Giovanni''s siloheutte, and the shadow of another Pokemon next to him.
"Per...siiian..." it growled. Kilik kneeled down.
"You...wanted to see me sir?" He looked up, brushing the hair from his eyes.
"Come up here, Kilik." The leader snapped his fingers and a staircase appeared to the top. The boy stood up and walked up the stairs. Koffing got out of his grip and hovered near the boy''s head. "The Master Ball...we did it."
"You successfully found out how to make it?" the boy''s eyes brightened. Giovanni nodded.
"We''ve only been able to make three perfect copies...all of which I entrust to myself," the leader smirked, calling Persian back into its Pokeball. He then handed the Pokeball to Kilik, "Take Persian with you..." he whispered.
"Sir? What do you want me to do with Persian?"
"While we''re at it, we may as well take Silph Co. for ourselves," he handed the boy a box with a red button on it, "Go back to Saffron. I have a copter waiting for you downstairs. When you get there, head to the top and notify the city that it now belongs to Team Rocket." Giovanni pointed a ringed finger at the box, "If you get into trouble, use that. Grunts are waiting throughout the city, hidden. When you hit that, all of them will come to your aide." The leader nodded. Kilik nodded as well.
"Yes, sir!" he saluted, Koffing put a triumphant look on its face. He put the box into his pocket and then looked at the Pokeball containing the Persian. He walked back down the stairs and headed through a door. There it was. A black helicopter with a bright red ''R'' on the side. He climbed in, tapped the pilot on the shoulder, and was soon out of the Gym.

The female guard saw Nina coming toward her, and she let out a sigh. "Hello again, Madame Pain in my Butt," she said in her cool, soft tone of voice. "Something else I can do for you?"
Nina nodded. "Yes, in fact," she replied, "you can start by calling me Nina. That's my name. And since I've been seeing so much of you lately, I was wondering what your name was.
The guard shifted in her seat, and looked minorly cramped in her post area. "I don't have a name."
"Yes you do, everyone has a name!" Mihoshi trilled in agreement.
The guard let out another sigh. "My name is Karen."
Nina smiled. "Hello Karen," she said.
"Hi..." Karen responded, kind of forcedly. "Now... what is it you wanted?"
"Oh. Right. You know that guy that I had asked you to look for last night? I was wondering if you had seen him."
Karen adjusted her hat so the rim hanged down and covered her nose, in addition to her eyes. "I haven't seen him."
Nina sighed. "Really?" she asked in disappointment.
"Really," Karen replied. "However, the guard at the east gate, Samuel, told me that he spotted someone earlier today that fit your description. That was about an hour or so ago."
Nina's feelings were mixed; she was beyond happy that someone had seen Kilik, but was a little annoyed that she and Kasiya had just missed him. "Thank you very much," she replied with a little smile. Nina turned and started to walk...
"Hey, Nina." Karen said. Nina turned around and looked at Karen. "What's your PokeNav number?" Nina smiled and Mihoshi seemed to express Nina's happiness by trilling a few times. She told Karen, and the two exchanged numbers.
Nina waved to Karen as she left, and was somewhat surprised that Karen waved back.
She found a bench to sit on and dialed Kasiya's number.

Jaeshan studied his new Butterfree excitedly as she gave a flap of her wings and took to the air. Chittering, she flew around, showing off her new form to her friends.
"Wow, you're beautiful," Jaeshan said, and ran over to his bag. "Now, where did I put it...." he muttered to himself as he rummaged through his belongings. "There it is!" He held up the shining HM for Butterfree to see. "Time to put our plan into action!" He set the disc, and soon after, Butterfree had learned Flash. Not bothering to test it out, he put it back into his bag, and signaled for his three Pokemon to gather. "This is what we need to do," he said, bending down and speaking very quietly.

"Grow! Grow!" Growly's ears perked up, and he looked at Kasiya excitedly. He continued to run ahead, yipping and jerking his head back to his trainer.
"You've got the trail," Kasiya said, grinnig. "He went this way! Great work, Growly!" she commented, reaching for her PokeNav. It rang in her hands, and she looked down at it. Nina, she thought, and answered. "Nina, Growly's found the trail!" she said before waiting for a response.

"That's great!" she replied. "The guard I talked to told me that he left the city's eastern gate about an hour ago. Since Lavender's the closest town to the east, he probably took a train there to somewhere. He probably went to meet up with his boss, so it's not at all likely that he would take a train from Lavender to Celadon, if they really do have a base there, so... where else could he have gone to?"

The helicopter cruised smoothly through the sky. Kilik looked out the window, noticing how high up they were. The blades of the copter hummed above him. Koffing rested on the floor, not able to float. The pilot kept his view straight ahead, turning ever so slightly. Kilik sat in his seat, looked up at the metal ceiling. His stomach grumbled. "Do you have anything to eat?" he hissed through the headset.
"In the back, I have a sandwich. You're welcome to it." The pilot replied, not turning around. He did, however, point behind the boy. Kilik nodded, climbed over the seat and found a cooler. Inside was the sandwich. He pulled it out, closed the coolor, and unwrapped the food from its wrapping. The boy bit into it. It was so good. Koffing looked up at him, hungry itself. He ripped off a piece of the sandwich and handed it to the Poison Pokemon. It smiled as it swallowed the food. He finished the sandwich and dusted the crumbs off of his hands, awaiting their arrival in Saffron.
