Kairi leaned against a wall and tilted her head to the side. "Yeah... He's certainly something. Stubborn, angry, quick to rush into things... I'd say he pretty much got both of our flaws." She paused, "Though, he's only trying to do what he thinks is right. And the way he acts when he's around Nadia..." The fox walked around her fiance, and linked her tail with his, "Sometimes a lone wolf just needs something to care about. You can't blame him for the way he acts. He does have a lot of you in him... but he didn't have me to keep him in line like you do."

"He had Super though... but in future world, I'm not sure how far that goes. War changes things. War changes everything." He muttered. He was showing some of his scars, which, when he caught himself doing, always apologized for. As of this point, he hadn't yet. His eyes were distant a moment. "I think it's time to think like a military unit now, more then a rag-tag bunch of kids with some experience." He wondered if that is what Super was thinking about right now. They were escaping the country... how many lives did that hedgehog plan on taking to ensure their safety?

Kairi nodded, looking somber. "You're right. We need to get organized. We can't just wing it this time. It's serious..." Her ear twitched a little nervously, but she smiled at Sickle. "No matter what happens... I want you to know that despite it's flaws, today was the happiest day of my life." She looked at her engagement ring. "Don't worry, Wolfie, I know that if we stick together we'll make it through this. I know that you and my brother and Super have my back... and Beo now too. A girl can't feel much safer than that."

Sickle just smiled, hugging Kairi close. He had been so glad just moments before, and now it was starting to flood back. He just held her a moment, before breaking off. If Kairi listened, she may have heard the smallest sniff. "When all this is over, the war, the random adventures and danger... When it's all said and done, what do you want to do?" He asked, thinking. It was probably a good idea to plan some sort of future, even if it may soon not exist that way.

Kairi fumbled for words for a moment, and then responded, "Well, I suppose we could settle down. Get a house somewhere out of the city, probably not too far away from Sparky and Super. My brother will come for holidays. We'll probably have kids." She hid the fact that the topic made her uncomfortable. "I mean, what does one do after their done adventuring, right?" She laughed a bit awkwardly. She hated the idea of giving up the life she had now and becoming a house wife or a business woman or something equally boring. She'd been moving around and fighting since she was barely a pre-teen, and she never really considered that one day she would have to stop. She was happy to marry Sickle, but would it mean she'd have to give up the part of herself that did whatever it wanted whenever? She knew that that freedom would be gone when she had kids...

Sickle shook his head. "You? Stay put? I don't believe you." He said, honestly surprised. He knew, however, she was thinking about what should happen. He thought for a moment. "Many families move around, especially those in the military. It's not a selfish concept to keep moving once you've started a family." He said. Having been on missions with many family men, Sickle saw first hand what some of the kids of those people were like. Many were well versed in a multitude of languages and had millions of stories to tell. And although they moved a lot, many stayed in touch with the friends they had made when they lived in certain areas. "I'll settle down whenever you like, Kairi, but I didn't expect you to want to so soon."

Kairi smiled and sighed. "Good. Because I don't. I was just thinking of what I should say... I didn't want to worry you before the big fight." She was glad they were seeing eye to eye on this one. "Well, We should get back to the others. I want to know what Super found out. If it's important we really should pay attention to what's going on."

"The big fight. Yeah..." He said, thinking about it. "But now it's going to turn from a few scuffles to open warfare." He continued. "It's going to take some years... You know that?" He asked, unsure if Kairi had understood the levity of the situation. "We're going to lose friends, new and old. I wonder... I wonder what we could have done to prevent this situation?" He said. The answer was obvious. The entire root of everyone's problems was him. If he hadn't left, G.U.N. would have no reason to track Super and Kairi and Sparky and the rest. Well, Super, but not anyone else.

There had been a tense lapse of silence as Anna and Lea stood outside. Lea had sat down and was leaning against the wall of the house, legs crossed, while Anna stood in stiffened tension next to her.
"So...." Lea said, breaking the silence. "You're about.....17 now right....?"
"Y-Yeah..... Birthday was in January...." She twiddled her fingers, pulling at them. Lea laughed inwardly: they were the same age. While Anna had dealt with more, it seemed like she was far more immature than she seemed.... But maybe it was just the fact that she was talking to her dead mother.
"Mom.....I....I have tell you-" The wolf was cut off by her mother's lifted hand.
"If it's about the future, I don't want to hear it. We're in the here and now. Talking about before or after that is just going to make things worse." Her finger pointed indignantly at the floor, and the tense silence drifted into the air once again. Anna's heart seemed to sink lower into her chest as she watched her mother, the women that her father had compared to as being 'perfect', sat back into an apathetic position. The young wolf's red eyes seemed to search the floorboards as she chuckled to herself about her father's descriptioins of her mother.... He was probably drunk when he was saying it.
"So, are you planning on coming to help us against your uncle, or just gonna sit here and sulk?"
"Mom, you know that........if you want to beat him....you're going to have to......."
"Kill him?" Lea merley turned her head, and gave a saddened smirk. "Yeah.....I know........" No one dared speak for a few moments, before Lea gave another ironic chuckle. "But hey, at least if I do it I'll make sure he doesn't suffer."

((Sorry!))
Kairi smirked, "Oh come on, Wolfie... There are somethings that you just can't prevent. You were born into this situation. There was no way anything could be down to stop that. Any if you're thinking that the rest of us are only involved in this mess because of you, stop. Because we were all destine for our own type of trouble from the beginning. Super was putting himself in danger long before he met you, and Haden is too smart for his own good sometimes... he was bound to get on someone's bad side sooner or later. And me, well, you know what happened to my village. If I hadn't met you and the guys, I would be off fighting Robotnik right now." She placed a hand on his arm, "The only one of us who might have ended up semi-normal is Sparky... and she's not exactly staying around because of you, if you know what I mean." "So what if we have to fight right now! I've been fighting for as long as I can remember! This is just something we have to overcome, and I think we can. I know we can. I need you and your son needs you... don't go all soft on me now, Sickle."

It was rare that Kairi ever used his name. Sickle looked away a moment, before inwardly solidifying himself to the cause. Kairi was right - they all had been fighting from the very beginning. Even Sparky against her brother, Bullet, and their now free alter egos. It wasn't because of him that they were here. "You're right." He gave a chuckle. "As always. Guess I'm a slow learner." He said, referring to the time Kairi told him that the faster he learned she was always right, the less arguments they'd have.
Sickle thought of Beo. He had been strict on him, but he knew he had to be. Another one to be fighting since birth. A real gang of troublemakers they had here. Lea had a history with G.U.N., her daughter obviously looked like a fighter. "I think it's time to return to the others and get everything situated." He guessed. "We're going to have a rough couple of hours."

Kairi nodded, "Yeah, more like a rough couple of years..." She kissed him on the cheek. She took his hand and lead him back to where most of the group was situated. "We'd better talk to Super and see how things are going..." She said to Sickle in a low voice, not wanting to draw too much attention to their return.
