Varnis had sighed. She isn't going to stop is she? He thought to himself as he continued to walk. "I don't want to continue this. By the time this ends we might have killed each other over it." He let out a small laugh as he continued to walk.
Suddenly there was a loud crashing noise at the entrance of the cave. Varnis had turned around to see what it was, then ran towards the entrance. Varnis could hear the king's voice out side the cave.
"I am sorry, It had to be done..." He said. Shortly after there was the sound of fighting out side the cave. Varnis had a look of horror on his face as he stared at the rock that was blocking the exit of the cave.

Artica couldn't help but laugh a little at Varnis' observation about them killing each other, but she soon stopped when a crashing noise sounded at the cave enterance.
The king was saying something akin to how this had to be done, but Artica was too frozen with pure rage as she realized the man's betrayal to care.

"Noooo!" He shouted as he got to the rock, and started hitting it with his staff. "You can't do this! You can't!" He shouted as he hit the rock with his staff.
"Varnis, please run! Everyone please!" The king shouted hoping they had heard him. There was a scream of death in the air, then it was silent, except for a few gruff goblin like voices.
"He is dead?"
"Yes..."
"Good, now lets get the ones in the cave!"
They where starting to sound like they where going to break through the rock, as they had started to hit their weapons on the rock, trying to break it.
"No! You can't be dead! Father!!!!!" Varnis had shouted out as he fell to the ground, and started to get tears in his eyes. At this moment he didn't care if the goblins did break through and kill them.

"FATHER!?" Artica shrieked, looking horrified. Noises that suggested that the things outside were attempting to get in prompted Artica to act. It sure as hell didn't look like Varnis cared if he was killed either way. All enmity forgotten, she unceremoniously grabbed Varnis by the scruff of his shirt, and began dragging his away into the cave system, in a random direction, as long as it was away from the cave enterance.

Lexenos watched everything with horror, not really regestering what was going on. He started pulling his sister into the cave after Varnis and Artica.

Varnis was to busy to be worried about being pulled deeper into the cave, by his father being attacked. "Stop! Please stop!" He started to struggle with Artica to get away, but it wasn't helping at all, so he gave up after a bit. His eyes where covered in tears, and they where running down his face.

After the group was far enough away from the cave to hear anything that was going on, the king was lying there, bleeding to death, as he watched the goblins trying to break the rock. He stood up quickly, and swung his sword at them. "No you don't!" He yelled as he killed them, then passed out from the loss of blood.

"What's going on?" Mel said as she allowed herself to be pulled into the cave. "What happened? What happened?" Her eyes were wet and shiny as she looked around disorentedly.

"Stop struggling," Artica told him, not unkindly. "Stop stuggling!"
After awhile, Varnis went limp, and Artica almost wished he was thrashing again instead of this defeated slump he was in. The sound from the outside faded away after awhile as they went deeper into the cave system, and Artica felt it was safe enough to pause for a second to collect themselves physically and emotionally.
"Okay," Artica said to the group at large, panting slightly from running. "Okay, take a minute to gather yourselves, people. We need a plan."
She let Varnis go, but kept an eye on him incase he decided to make a run for it to try and save his father.

Aaron, previously in shock, suddenly came-to when Artica stopped running perilously threw the tunnels. As she instructed them to take a moment to take everything in, Aaron could only think of one thing to say:
"Oh... My... GOD!" he exclaimed. "THAT DUDE NEARLY GOT US ALL OFFED!"

Varnis had slumped there as he sat there on the ground, still remembering what just happened. The light on his staff had started to fade. "Father, father, father..." Was all he kept repeating as the light on his staff had stated to fade, and darkness began to set in.

Artica gave the chanting Varnis a nervous look as the darkness settled. While Aaron flipped out, she sighed, and walked over to him before it got to dark to see where he was sitting. Settling down next to him, she tentitivly offered an olive branch.
"I'm really sorry about your dad," Artica told Varnis quietly.

Varnis had continued to repeat himself. He looked over at Artica, and took the olive branch. "He isn't dead. I know it, he cant be." He said as he huddled up in a ball, and the light on his staff had faded completely.

Aaron stopped ranting, suddenly seeing the other two slumped on the ground.
"WOW!" he shouted. "YOU GUYS AREN'T TRYING TO KILL EACH OTHER!"
