"And don't bother asking me for details," Julianne added, "I don't know all of them, and I won't share what I do know."

"Tell you what." Rebecca began. 'Why don't you stay home with Dad and watch your sports, and take a break for today. Don't worry, you won't get in trouble. We've both gotten the night off. Spend a little time with mom and dad. When we get back.... I'll explain everything when we put the kids to bed." she said.
"Aaawwww...." the little boy huffed.
"No "aw's" about it, mister." Rebecca said, looking back at the little one with a grin. "Grown up talk. We'll let you in on it when you're a little older."
"You're.... you're SURE the boss doesn't need us to come in?" Tommy asked. His tone uneasy.
"I'm sure. Sit down. Have a cookie." Rebecca said, motioning towards the plat that was... only half filled now.

[Enter Gotham City From The Iceberg Lounge]
After he left the hospital Edmond made his way to a small house. He had bought it for a good price under a fake name then set it up as a temporary base until he had officially moved in. Once inside he locked the front door and rigged the traps knowing he had told Emily to use the back when she chose to show up. The interior was a simple two room house. It had been cheap for that reason. Just a bath room and a large living room. On the left wall he had two bows set up and many quivers full of arrows. On the right wall he had two full suits set up each with a hood and white mask attached. The rest of the content was simply a computer for hacking, a few target signs and a bunch of sparing dummies. Yep, low end hero base in a bundle.
Edmonds first act was taking a shower. After that short use of time he dried off and put on one of the suits however he did not put the mask on. the Count then spent time training. Mostly hand to hand training but he did some target practice. Then he made an attempt to hack into the Iceberg lounge security but gave up shortly after. He was not a patient man unless he knew it would be worth his time. That was why Dantes did not complain when Emily said she needed a few days. With plenty of time to spare Edmond began working on a new top for a set of arrows. He had not clear goal but in the end he wanted it to blow up in some way. He had time and he was glad to use it.

The plate very quickly became slightly less than half filled, because Julianne grabbed a third cookie. "Please, have a cookie. Save me from myself."

Tommy grinned, then stood up and picked up the entire plate. The two children vocalized their disapproval of their cousin taking away the cookies, and the man just grinned wider. "What? Need to save some for the rest of us, right?" he said, then quickly moved to the living room with the plate.
The two children jumped from their seats and chased after him. Amber called after them that they had best be getting ready to leave, and the children promptly spun around and bolted for their bedroom.

After a bite of the new cookie, Julianne looked at Amber and said, "They're adorable. Truly."

”That they are...” Amber agreed with a sad little smile. ”They've been with us for about two years now. Not long after this little one was born.” she said, picking the youngest girl off of the floor and sitting her in a height chair. ”They've finally started to adjust to living here, thankfully. Helps that Rebecca had started coming down once a day. Plays with them when I can't.” she said, then began breaking a cookie up to give to Kayla.

"Yeah, she's pretty awesome," Julianne replied, "I haven't known her for very long, but it doesn't take long to figure it out."

Rebecca looked over at Julianne and smiled. "Well, thank you. Glad to see someone noticed." she replied, her tone teasing.
Amber smiled and shook her head. "So... do you two have any plans for when you are done down there? I should have some dinner done by then, and you're more than welcome to join us, Julie."

Julianne shoved Rebecca's arm lightly in response to her comment, then said, "Considering I'm everybody's ride, I'll already be here. Besides, if it's half as good as your cookies, you couldn't pay me enough to miss it."

Amber smiled. "Well thank you Julie. It's settled then. I'll make sure I set out extra seats at the table."
Barely a moment after that, the little girl came bounding back into the kitchen. A sparkly yellow purse slung over the shoulder of her bright pink wind breaker, and her pair of Hello Kitty shoes hurridly tied onto her feet. "Ready!" she announced happily.

Looking the little girl over, Julianne said, "You might want to get those shoes tied properly, so that an animal doesn't try to eat them."

The little girl blinked, then looked down at her shoes. "They'll eat them?" she asked.
"That... or a Tiger may just decide to try and play with the strings with his bone crushing paws."" Tommy called in from the living room.
The child's eyes widened, and she immediately flopped down onto the floor to tie her shoes the right way.
Rebecca smiled and shook her head lightly. "This should be fun..."

"Loads," Julianne replied, trying not to chuckle at Stacey's expense. Rebecca was right, though: it SHOULD be fun.

Rebecca smiled, then stood from the table to fetch her purse from the doorway. "Speaking of which... they will probably be waiting for us at the door the moment they get their shoes on."
"Do you need any money or anything?" Amber asked. "I know you don't make much when-"
"It'll be fine, Mom." Rebecca replied, moving back into the room. "Trust me... I've got this covered."
