Jami nodded, and though he didn't grin, his eyes twinkled kindly. He lowered his teal saber and switched it off, clipping it to his belt once more. "As are you. And you answered a question I had for a while, which was how to counter the fury of Djem So. Now I've found that I'm able to use Soresu long enough to tire my opponent out." He paused for a moment. "Do you know Shien as well?"

"Do you know Shien as well?" Eldin nodded, as he powered down his saber and clipped it. "Naturally; I'm a Form V user, and I even had to learn the basics of Forms II and III. You're the best I've seen, even among the elders."

Jami took the praise modestly, shrugging. "Not many people use Soresu anymore. Besides, it's a form that fits me well, and since I blend elements of Makashi with it, my personal style of Soresu is relatively effective against both blasters and lightsabers to some degree. But most people these days prefer Ataru to the other styles. You're quite skilled in Form V as well."

"You have an ideal style to combat my own; we cancel each other out, as obvious in the draw. It came down to luck, skill, and the Force."

Jami nodded, his thoughts wandering to a battle that happened over a hundred years ago. "I figured the outcome that occurred would happen. Long ago, Darth Vader and Jedi Master Kenobi fought using the exact same styles. Master Kenobi only won because he gained the higher ground."

He had been thinking along the same lines too. "I studied that battle. Through the archivisit studies, I've been focusing most on the Clone Wars-era, and Jedi Purge. Kenobi was destined to win that battle given the strategy he employed, and his unparralled skill."

"Perhaps. I prefer to focus on the entire history of the Jedi rather than just one era. Everything from the First Great Schism and Xendor over 25,000 years ago to the recent deaths of Master Yoda and Bryce. It all has meaning, and only by studying the mistakes of the past can we try to predict the errors of the future. Unfortunately, we tend to learn old lessons best when we fall flat on our faces doing them." He shook his head and ran his fingers through the white streak in his hair.

He nodded. "I lack the patience and decision to cover everything, so I consider myself fortunate I have patience for even one whole era."

Jami nodded, glancing at his lightsaber. "Our temperments are often reflected in our lightsaber styles. I prefer Soresu because it requires patience and timing and, Makashi which relies on elegance and precision. You on the other hand seem to like getting through things as quickly as possible, and no matter how it's done, as long as it is done."

He grinned a bit. "Are you insulting Djem So, Jami? I could remind you what happened to Count Dooku aboard the Confederate flagship, along with Obi-Wan. Sorseu lacks the openess of Djem So, and Makashi the strength."

Jami shook his head slowly. "No, I'm not insulting it per se. I'm merely pointing out that it fits your personality well." He glanced at the chronometer and pulled his robes tighter around him. "I should be off. I'll see you later, Eldin." The young Jedi waved and headed to the Archives.

Fina Xanth [ rofl ] Fina looked at the door curiously for a moment as she sensed something... odd. As she started toward the door panel to unlock and open it, the door opened. She looked in to see the fire suppression system putting out a fire on the robes of the man whom she'd locked in the room. She shook her head slightly, waiting for the fire to be put out, and then reached a hand up to the ceiling, turning the suppression system off with the aid of the force. She walked in and looked to the mans face. " How did you manage to catch yourself on fire?" She asked, her hands at her hips like a mother who was questioning a child... ((The door opened automaticly due to the fire, we're talking about future level tech here. Im sure the temple would atuo open doors so people could get out.)) Avor nearly stunned, but wringing his hair dry What are you talking about you mad woman! What manner of death is this room! Are you tring to kill me!
If you hadn't locked the door none of this would have happened! If your own rooms randomly burst into flames, no wonder the Sith give you such a hard time.

[I know what you meant... What I meant was she sensed something and went to open the door when it opened automatically because of the fire.]
Fina's face showed her confusion for a moment as Avor yelled at her. Her expression changed to looking... a bit displeased near the end of his words. "The sith hate us because we stand for the opposite of what they stand for. And our rooms do not burst into flames. If you hadn't tried to tamper with the electronics, then you might not have failed so miserably at whatever it was you were trying to do, and you might not have set yourself on fire!" She said.
Fina attempted to calm herself down a bit after her words, and turned away, entering the hallway to take her spot again. "If you would mind not fooling around with things you don't understand, things would go alot easier... So try to refrain from doing anything that involves electronics in there." She said, crossing her arms as she leant against the wall again...

Pondering the Jedi's ability to know what he was doing provoked curiosity, but he just ignored it, thinking that she probly just noticed the butchered pannel.
"Regaurdless, I caused the door to open, and would have allowed me the oppertunity to mock your...inferor training, watching the young Jedi train. Setting myself ablaze was...colateral damage in the process of obtaining freedom.
Even if I had no intrest in comic value of flawed Jedi training, I will not be locked in any cage...especialy while with in another cage"

Fina just shook her head. "Think what you want about our training, you're allowed... However, seeing as how you attacked a Jedi Master during your last visit here, I will not allow you to wander the halls freely..."
