mipcy I'm here.....but I don't know how many other flute players there are. i am a flute playa. we have 5 flutes in my band. i think sitting in the very first row is scary at concerts and festivals. we had a festival today at a really big place. our band is super small and all the other bands made us look tiny. there was some with 70 kids. we had 17.

xXbabyfayceXx Schizophrenic Spork Nope! I'm principle piccolo at my school, I love it! Though I do think flute has a more beautiful sound, piccolo is more fun to play. AWESOME!!!!!!Ur right though the flute sounds better though I'm the only piccolo in my school cause u cant tune piccolos exactly the same u kno like wen u hav two piccolos u hear the waves like every time no matter how good u tune heart heart heart heart mrgreen gonk lol I know what you mean, we only have me in concert band but in marching band our first chair flute marched piccolo, trying to tune both of us was hell!

ok does any1 know wat the highest note a flute can play? if u do cood u tell me the fingerin wat da note is and where it is on the lines.

i think the highest note is the high F...oh and im a flute player who just joined this...i love bando's

The highest note on the flute is not a high F. The standard is fourth line C which is almost impossible to get out without a gizmo key. Usually flutes that have a gizmo key can also reach the higher octave. Here is a fingering chart of all the notes a flute can get out. http://www.fluteinfo.com/Fingering_chart/modern.php

Keltzy Either I am blind and didn't read the board right, or there are no flute topics. I saw other instrument topics so I thought I'd make one too. Um flute players, any of out there? Today was our first day of school and my first day playing with a different band. I was different, probably 'cause most the class forgot their instruments. sweatdrop We played pep band music, and I felt weird, 'cause the other two flutes were organizing stuff . . . But enough of my ranting, please, come talk!! im a flutist 1st chair to b exact i decorate maintain an "A" average cheerleader nd soccer so im busy but i always have time to practice my flute! also y rn't i a member i want to b part of this guild so plz can u make meh a member? o nd im not beggin just askin!

I've been playing for three years and I'm taking music class right now. But I don't have time for band. crying

Yes, flutes can play a lot of notes. The highest note that i remember playing, was the really high A. That one was hard and screechy. *shiver runs down spine*
If you want to, check out my journal, I have a bunch of quotes/sayings that I learned from playing the flute, and being in marching band.
FLUTES WILL RULE THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We hae a flute in our section that came from cheerleading, was a rookie as a sophomore, and expected to make drum major. (No offense against cheerleaders, I just strongly dislike them because of something that happened at band camp).
Hmm... the highest note I can hit is the highest B flat. My friend, the 1st flute, can hit high-high C. 8D I've been playing for seven years, going on eight when marching band starts.

I play flute too!! xd Im third chair(sadly) but use to be second(long story). We had a concert on thursday but i missed it b/c my mom wouldn't cancel piano lessons

I'm last chair lol.
But I do that on purpose cuz I hate sitting in the front >_<
Plus my best friend is a french horn so we get to sit next to eachother during marching season (:

Flue player here ^.^ my first post in this guild! Um well I am first chair at school, top band, but unfortunately I did not try out for section leader last year. I'm trying out on tuesday, so wish me luck!! I'm sort of shy and don't know if I can be forceful to fishies : I hope to pursue a music career during college. Go juniors whee
