"That we agree on." Though she was thrown for a loop as he suddenly changed tunes on her, getting an attitude to his voice as well and knocking her hands. Where was that from? "What? You don't appreciate that trait of your family? Mine has always highly valued it." Frowning at his general direction with puffed feathers from Chylithair. "Since I offend you so, why don't you just go off somewhere more pleasing then?"
"The sun came up again, but that's not new. Gill tripped over a dragon's tail and got roughted up...that was kind of funny." Shrugging her shoulder's lightly before raising her eyebrows. "Someone looks a tad happier than he should be, seeing as he's been around elves he despises. Brokering peace or not."

"Some humans have really bad balance I gotta say." Logan was a little bit off but he could hear Gem and Hunter pretty easily. "Well that's a shock considering those two elves seem to always have some double motive, but still rather keep them close enough to not worry eh?" But a look to Hunter and he raised a scale eyebrow. "So really, how come you're so happy all of a sudden?" Hunter seemed the type to always be in a grumpy mood.

Her tone caused him to take a metaphorical step back, blinking at the sudden hostility in her tone. What had he done? Had she taken the b***h comment wrong? Evidently. "You don't offend me. It was just a question, that's all. I just don't understand why you give off that air to me. You know I see past all that, don't you?"
Was she serious or just playing a joke on her? Lerciana couldn't tell. She gasped at the crude reference to her leader and shook her head. "I can't do such things and you shouldn't say such things. You don't understand what she represents." Though the other part of her news intrigued her since her companion had been quite interested in said dragonlord. "Her marking was not permanent? I had heard rumors of that but wasn't sure. Why would she do that?"

"Things just took a big turn in my favor via negotiations. Apparently Savvy has been playing games, And I just got my piece on the board."
a slight grin at that.
"though...apparently this ring of mine is magical and won't come off without removing the finger it's on. that's not exactly pleasant, nor is the idea it might be doing something unwholesome. but I'll cross that bridge when I get there. Any word on Red?"
"Well. that's mostly his fault. Bell loves him, and in all honesty, I think he loves her. the problem is that Kanzec, for one reason or another after his mother's passing, has locked his emotions away in a lockbox of logic and deduction. He's about as close to unfeeling as you can possibly get."
A shrug.
"He agreed to it because it was explained to him primarily as a way to protect Bell from Riders while crossing their sands. that they wouldn't go after her if they knew Kanzec would fight to the death for her kinda thing by the little star eyes. personally, I think they have some kind of plan or vested interest in trying to get Kanzec with Bell."
but watching the silver a moment.
"They've known each other since childhood. Though she has a Rider's appearance, she has had no contact with thier ilk. She has been a free dragon since hatching. Which apparently is something that your mistress likes to overlook. Bells no more a Rider dragon then you or I."

Of course she took offense to him making such comments. Added to that whole evil necromancer bad wrap she got...she was actually very pleasant and loving if anyone got close enough to her or did so without overly agitating her. Her family could attest to that at least...they were just the only ones whomever tried that. Granted she was a little creepy sometimes but that was more a quirk. "No. I don't know what you see, I can't see myself how things transpire across your face and give clue to what you're really thinking and intending. And I can't see why you want to even get to know me. We've never been close...you're Dhairiss' friend."
"So you're gambling with elves....good luck with that. Something I'm not so sure I would want to invest too much in. Especially with elves that seem to have agendas." Raising an eyebrow at his ring and tilting her head. "Yes I'm sure lopping off your finger is indeed an in the moment decision." Nodding lightly, "Word is that he's awake now. And no one's allowed to see him yet. I still don't know where they've stashed Treasure away though."

"Yes, you do." He wasn't buying it by no means. "You may not see my eyes or the way my expressions are but you see my tone, you see agitation or irritation or happiness or whatever else I'm feeling. You see more than anyone looking at me ever could, Savryn, and you and I both know it. So why play this game with me? Why pretend like I'm everyone else?" Crossing his arms and watching her then shrugging. "So. Dhairiss isn't here. Besides, you need a friend."
She didn't understand... "You shouldn't speak such a way about the Laerethe. Have you no respect?" The rest of it was shrugged off as nothing more than speculation. "Then they should have completed the ritual. Not doing so was foolish and only serves to put both of them in more danger." Glancing around for a moment and then coming back to Desdemona before they widened and she stepped back quite a few steps and hissed. "Don't say that! How dare you?!"

My clan was destroyed waiting on help that never came. and that includes help from you silvers and the golds. you so called grand and pure dragons wouldn't lift a talon to help me and mine, yet here's a 'rider' dragon risking life and limb to help people and dragons she's never met or never going to meet. A dragoness who has fought tooth and nail against pirate lords, and the giant squids of the depths at eat our kind, to help a human ally and friend."
Standing straighter.
"On top of that, despite her appearance, she has fought her way to acceptance as the apprentice strategist to the city, earned the trust and respect of it's people, and that includes Lycear and Kanzec. She was Kanzec's friend when no one else could console him, and she risked her life to save his while we were coming here on instinct. Even without a marking, she'd do those things. So who are you, that hide in the glass sea away from all others, to judge her? Or me, or Kanzec for accepting her?"
"Better to deal with the devil then be in the path of it. As long as I am a player in her game, then if she wants that continued value, she'll have to put aside her agenda at least in my case. Is she probably going to betray me or try to backstab me? sure. but you can expect that from other pirates just as easily. Fang is a great example of that."

Yes, tone said a lot...but people liked to use tone carelessly. Like sarcasm...she detested sarcasm when she wasn't using it because she couldn't tell it was sarcasm. Couldn't see the eye roll or whatever action accompanied it. At least he gave her credit on her other abilities...which frankly made her blink in surprise that he actually had any insight into how she worked at all. "Why do you think I need a friend?" Though her tone had softened and it seemed a genuine question.
"I suppose a laugh can at least come out of it as well as valuable lessons. Granted I've never trusted anybody but myself, my first mate, and my crew...but risks grant grand rewards from time to time, I know that much." Crossing her arms lightly where she was sitting. "Though while you've been playing with elves. I've been dragon watching. It's quite interesting I suppose. I'm just wondering where we're going to be led by the noses next."

"Eh, we'll see how your deal turns out." Logan had to wonder when someone would pick off Hunter, the man was walking around with a pretty big target on his back from the looks of things. "Everyone has had someone turn against them at one point or another, it all comes down to how one goes on afterward if they are left alive." Though a blink to Gem and he nodded before looking back toward where they knew the dragon was. "Good to know, we need to get moving soon anyway." A pause though as he stood there for a moment before he gave a shrug to Gem. "Where ever we go next it shouldn't be as worse as the Glass Sea. But still we gotta start having good things happening on our side, like finding those pieces a lot sooner." Flexing his fingers Logan placed his human hand in his robes and let it rest there. "Though being lead by the nose is putting it mildly, we already know who is guiding us, it all depends on what will happen because of them."

Well, she didn't seem quite so pissed off anymore which he was taking as a good sign. "Companionship is still a need for elves, Vryn. And my sister left, leaving you with a bunch of humans, some dragons, and some strange ethereal beings. All of which want to use you. Don't you want someone around that genuinely cares about you simply because you are you?"
"I'm sorry about your clan but you cannot foist your anger and resentment off on my clan when your clan would have done exactly the same in that position. We were taught to fend for ourselves as is the law of the desert sands." If Desdemona thought her impassioned speech and list of brave deeds was going to impress Lerciana, she was going to be sorely disappointed. "Who said anything about judging her? We react to her based on what she is. Whether you want to admit it or not, she is a Rider dragon. And nothing you do is ever going to change that. She presents a danger to everything that we are, everything that we could ever hope to be. Yet are you not judging us for desiring to take care of our dragonlings, our elders, our marked, and ourselves?"

"that's the problem I'm referring to. only her looks mark her a rider dragon. nothing more. and, to my knowledge, do correct me if I am wrong, no silver or gold has ever been captured or killed by the Riders. which means that either her clutch or egg was found abandoned...or there's a silver that voluntarily aligns with the Riders."
crossing her arms.
"You are protecting nothing, because there's nothing to protect from. She would happily learn everything you can teach, and give you everything she can, for acceptance from those that should accept her. if for no other reason then pity for the what happened to her egg, and as a rejoicement for the life that she might have been trapped in that was avoided."
a frown.
"Even the bronze and steels extend that much to their fellow dragons that escape the yoke. even if it's just because that's one less dragon for the Rider's to command. some rider dragons fight. some plot and patiently wait for that glimmer of hope that they can get away. But acting like you do, would extinguish that hope. for what good would be escape if those that should take you in would cast you out?"
"This is a chance for the silvers to show compassion. to give other dragon clans a reason to look up to them, to follow thier lead other then simple power. I want the silvers and golds to help the rebellion that even now is rumbling in the dragon's sands. but if your fear will so blind you to a single bleached silver that never suffered the yoke, how can we expect you to to be of any value to that cause, knowing that the dragons, who have suffered that yoke, that would fight to free thier brethren, would recieve nothing but outright hate and disdain from you?"

He didn't know her other than their families were close, he was randomly sent here by his parents, pulled away from what jobs he was on and for whatever reason he wanted to hang around with her. But at least her tone wasn't accusing anymore.
A laugh as Logan added in his two cents. "Would you listen to new boots here? Been on the sand a few days and thinks he knows it all. You better be careful or you're going to get yourself killed right fast out here. Leave it to those that know the sands. "

"Her looks mark her as a target. There is no freedom from that life." Shaking her head and laughing tonelessly. Her holier than thou attitude was really upsetting Lerciana. "Yes, the bronze and steels do extend that sort of help. And look what it got them. Your clan was wiped out. Why? There was another clan of steels massacred less than a week ago on the easter bounds of the desert. Why? They took in a Rider dragon they believed had changed. She poses a threat to us and our way of life. It might not be her fault but that's a stigma that comes with being what she is. Why sacrifice everything I hold dear for someone I don't even know?" Shaking her head. "Fellnathir is right. She's better off dead. Why are you trying so hard anyway?"

If her father knew Kelligrin was here and something happened to her and he was there...he'd probably kill the man. "So what, you think I'm honestly pleasant to be around?"

"Why should I feel any familial obligation towards you? You've said yourself that we don't know each other and I was never involved in your life. Seems to me you distance yourself from that obligation by keeping your mother's name as well. Not that that's a bad thing, so please don't take it as such. Just an observation." He watched her for a moment and then chuckled, "Pleasant? Come now, Savryn, I can sense a trap and am too smart to fall into that." Teasing her which he made sure his tone clearly showed. "But even kick-a** loners need someone they can trust. And if not trust, they need a friend." Chuckling then, "Okay, I'll admit it. My reasons are selfish. I want you as my friend."
