Rolling his eyes again, he put away the smiley face drawing and looked quickly into his book before looking at Kalore again. "Of course I can draw a smiley face. Anyone can. Even a great demon like myself can." He said, slightly arrogant. He was willing to make a joke of himself if it helped Kalore get through these hard times.

Kalore rolled his eyes at that comment as he wrote, "Well now...someone thinks highly of themselves..." A grin was on his face. Kalore knew that Monty would never normally do this; make jokes with him, draw smiley faces, or even comfort him. For that, the elf was very thankful.

"Of course I think highly of myself. You would too, if you were prince of hell." He said, more arrogance prominent this time. It's true he was but not like his brothers who strived on fame. He was the oldest and more powerest of them all and there was not a damn thing he wanted more than peace and quiet until he had to fight Gambler again.

"I'm basically the soon to be King of the elven world...the Master of the Tower has more power than the King in Ellwood...I don't think highly of myself." He shrugged while looking around. This room was really bland, but that was just how Zaine had made it. The Dracokin didn't like a lot of things around to tie him to anything. As he thought of this, another wave of pain washed over him as she crouched over, gritting his teeth against the pain.

Monty stood and in a flash was at Kalore's side. He crouched down, giving the elf a respectful distance and touched his shoulder. "Why do you fight it? You have no voice, so indulge in your voiceless cries. Let it out Kalore." He said softly, barely audiable. Of course, Kalore wasn't like him to just let any pain goes threw him so maybe that wasn't the best thing to say.

Shaking, Kalore shook his head but a tear escaped him, the first one that had seen the world in years. The man grit his teeth so hard one would think that they would crack from the pressure. Flashbacks of things that had haunted him for years got around the pills and just attacked him. Zaine had told him that the pills would break because of the magic. Lucien had known that Kalore was taking something to block out the pain, and the magic had not only taken out his voice, but had also made the pills useless. More pain, almost rivaling that of the procedure, racked his body.

Monty muttered curses in every language known to man. He was muttering alot of incoherent things in his language that even the author has a hard time understanding with the harsh accent and quickness of the speech. He took off his hoistler of guns and placed them aside. With the upmost gentlness he grabbed Kalore and brought him down to ground level with him and sat back. Gritting his teeth at showing compassion, for the first time in ages, he wrapped his arm around Kalore and held him securely against him. "Ride it out Kalore. It's only in your mind. They can never hurt you again." He said, trying his best to soothe the elf.

What Monty was doing normally would have shocked Kalore to the point of laughing, but at the moment it was his lifeline. Not caring what the demon thought, he grabbed the front of his shirt and pulled close. Pain continued to rack his body as Kalore just grit his teeth and tried to bare it. Slowly it was fading, but it was just still so painful. I swear...If Rave doesn't kill him before I see him, that Prince's a** is mine!

Monty didn't care at all what Kalore did. He was there for the sole purpose of helping the elf....Wait...Since WHEN?! 'Since now, so suck it up demon boy.' His conscience said and he didn't growl or protest. He did suck it up and let Kalore seek his comfort. He slowly rubbed his hand up and down the elf's arm, softly and barely touching him, but it was to continue to soothe him.

After a couple of minutes that lasted as long as years for Kalore, the shaking pain finally subsided, but the shaking didn't. The poor elf was breathing hard, that easily being heard as he rocked back and forth while in the demon's hold. Then he realized what he was doing and slowly let go of the grip that was on Monty's shirt, gulping softly when he saw that the shirt was now terribly wrinkled.

Monty growled lowly. "Your not finished elf so stay put or else I'll give you something to really shake about." He grumbled and didn't move from the male in his arms or stop rubbing his arm softly. It was very surprising that the demon would go this far for the elf that he barely knows. Then again, maybe living with the seraphs taught him humility. It was better than just leaving the elf to deal with it. Who knows what could have happened. He might have commited suicide if he was left with no one to help him or to at least offer it.

Kalore blinked, still looking at what he now knew as Monty's chest as the shaking slowly started to stop. It was still there as he nodded slowly to him, mouthing out the words, "Thank you...Thank you Monty." He never thought that that would be said to the demon, but it seemed like the past few days were just shocking for both demon and elf...

Monty shook his head slightly. Being thanked was not what he wanted. What he did want was that the elf was okay and was going to get over this attack. That was all he wanted and he realized that he was started to care alittle bit for the elf. That was shocking.

Even after this attack, something else happened. It wasn't painful, but it was saddening. Memories came back, but ones that he had kept down for so long that it wasn't painful anymore as traumatizingly sad. Eyes widening, Kalore covered his eyes as another tear came from him. Not in front of the demon... not in front of anyone... That only gets you in trouble, Marcessa...

Monty grumbled something inaudible. "Your hiding elf. Are you hiding from me?" He asked softly. Something was up if Kalore covered his face and if the male didn't want him there to see anything else then he would oblige to leave but something told him that he wasn't moving a muscle whether either of them liked it or not.
