Alastair wasn’t one for unnecessary cruelty. He really wasn’t. It made everything so much more difficult… but, of course, he was quite alright necessary cruelty. If being a little cruel was what it took to make people talk, then he was perfectly fine with that. Pfft… the others had even untied the scientists! How pathetic was that? They had no proof that they were ‘innocent’. For all Alastair knew, they were deliberately left behind to plant information, to lead the others in the wrong direction.
He merely glared at the fainted scientists, vaguely annoyed that he wasn’t able to ask them anything. Ah well… they would recover sooner or later. He could be patient. And he knew he could count on Piney to be a Good Cop.
“Oh. Joy. So, now Team Rocket basically holds the keys. But… I think we have an advantage. It’s small, but it’s an advantage. We’ve got pokémon. I don’t remember any of the scientists---or… well… I suppose most of them were Team Rocket members---having any. And you need lots of equipment to revive a fossil, right? I don’t think all that could fit in the black boxes… but, there had been a lot of them. And what if they tried to use the psychic energy instead of the more typical type of energy?
“…We still have an advantage. There’s more of us. And we know how many Rockets there are now. Any scientist who isn’t here right now must be one of them.” It hadn’t really occurred to Alastair that some of the trainers might be from Team Rocket.
“I think we ought to tie them to the trees,” he suggested sourly, when the other trainer asked what they should do with the sleeping scientists.

It took Con very little time to find a small package of dry meat. The plastic wrapping proudly proclaimed that it was water-proof, child-proof, and weather-proof. It certainly wasn’t Con-proof, however, as the pale houndoom took out his frustrations on the innocent packaging. Ryou helped too, by making him chuckle slightly. Ryou, it was absolutely horrific. There were also… let’s see if I can recall, some things really are too horrible to forget… oh, yes. Bright green stripes, some yellow circles, and a few badly-drawn flowers. Yeah, it had been hilarious to see Alastair’s face at that. Not that he had been truly upset with the cubone afterwards.
Just… exasperated, really.
…the black boxes… the houndoom said in between bites. I have no idea. Something very important. They went for that first. I’m guessing that they knew the… the darts wouldn’t last very long, so they could only take what was important. Yeah. Thanks, genius. They’re talking about fossils and crystals outside… I guess it’s digging stuff?

Meeka streched. Had she feel asleep through something? Rubbing her eyes, Ebba and Heila eyed her. Really, their trainer could sleep through anything. "Stant." Ebba said in a greeting as he nose her face. Heila licked her cheek and sighed. Seems like she missed everything.

He didn't stop, pelting forward like a confused Tauros. Aimi would be better off staying here with the others. There was safety in numbers, and he wouldn't be out here too long on his own. Not long at all. Ducking behind one of the wagons, he made to back track by going around it.

Fin nodded. "You're right, we do have a bit of an advantage with Pokémon, and numbers. And I think Luna knows where we're headed, she had a map, so we can follow the Rockets, and hopefully catch up. I think maybe we should give the scientists the benefit of the doubt," she said to the other trainer, shaking her head at his suggestion. "Though maybe there isn't enough room in the wagons. I guess it would be better to pitch a tent over them, at least until the morning, or until Luna or someone else in charge decides what to do with them."

Duelist of Pokemon Ace managed to find the wagon just as Lamen and her Ghastly were pulling it back towards camp. Screeching and flapping his wings like a mad bat, the Golbat darted towards the wagon just as his human came through the bushes behind him.
"AH! Oh, heya Lamen! I see you found it." Grinning and walking over, she took a grip on one of the Tauros' tethers. "Need a hand?" As they walked, Ace (being the weirdo he was) darted over and flew infront of the Ghastly, blinking at the gas pokemon before grinning and blowing a razzberry.
((Sorry about the lateness!))
As she was riding Mattress towards camp, a pokemon burst through the treetops and flew around almost frantically. Lamen recognized Jess' golbat- she had seen it several times though this journey. Sure enough, the trainer soon arrived herself. "Yep, all thanks to this little prankster." She answered, motioning towards Donut. "I called him Donut, by the way. Donut, meet Jess, and her golbat, Ace. And thanks, Jess." Arriving back at camp, the trainer smiled, happy with the way things were going- it was certainly a lot calmer than before.
Donut gave Ace an odd look, as if he'd never seen a Golbat before. He asked, somehow doubtful he'd get an answer from the other pokemon.

A few seconds behind him, she missed seeing him duck behind a wagon and came to a bit of a stop. The question became should she continue on or just stay with the others. To be honest she wasn't sure, casting a glance backwards she went over her choices, not wanting to let him go off.

Meeka blinked when she peeked out of the wagon. A floating ball caught her eye and she tilted her head at it. "Gastly?" she thought. Ebba just sat next to her and nose her neck. He was hungry. So was Heila, just she was able enough to go through her messenger bag and start to nibble on the jerky she had in there.

Finding he'd lost her, he slipped off leaving her a silent apology as he went. She'd be happier without him. Heck, a lot of people would. There'd be less competition.

Ryou snorted in amusement, sticking his tongue out at the pale houndoom. "(That sounds awful. I don't know how he didn't instantly go blind at the sight of such an atrocity,)" he joked, nibbling on another cookie while he pondered the black box problem. Digging stuff? They had that, it was in one of the wagons, out in the open. "(No,)" he said slowly, swallowing the delectable treat. "(I don't think it's stuff to dig with. That was out in the open, remember? One of the drills even got smashed to bits by the pidgeotto from the first day. It has to be something else,)" he thought aloud, one ear twitching idly at the conversation outside. Crystals that gave off psychic waves, and fossils... He didn't see how either were very important, but if Team Rocket was so interested in both, it didn't bode well for anyone, human or pokemon. He bit off the head of an animal-shaped sugar cookie, chewing it slowly. "(Maybe... maybe they plan to use the fossils and crystals for something? I remember something about... something about scientists being able to bring fossil pokemon to life.. It was on a show Kazuki watched on tv once. Or fell asleep to, rather,)" he corrected himself, pushing aside the now empty tin and began rummaging through the bag again, his voice sounding muffled as he spoke again. "(I don't know about the crystals, though. They must be related to some psychic pokemon. It would probably be pretty powerful, too, don't you think?)" Ugh, it was all too much for him to wrap his brain around. The Rockets were planning something awful, he knew that much for sure, and they had to stop them somehow.

“Can’t we at least tie them up again so they don’t run away?” Admittedly, it would be amazingly stupid of the scientists to run away blindly. They didn’t have any pokémon for protection, they probably had no idea of where they were, and, unless they stole food, they’d be dependent on the trainers who at least knew how to survive in the wilds. Still, just because it was stupid didn’t mean that the scientists wouldn’t do it. Alastair had seen people do similar things before.
He glanced towards the track where the Rockets had vanished, clearly wishing he could run after them. But, as he already knew, running off on his own would be amazingly stupid. The wild pokémon here attacked in groups, and a single trainer couldn’t do anything against a swarm. Even if he brought along his own pokémon… well, the risk was too great. “At least those of us with houndours, houndooms, and other canine pokémon will be able to track them by scent,” he muttered, partly to himself. “There was that swarm a few days ago, so we ought to have plenty of those to go around.”
And, of course, there was Con. The pale houndoom was a superb hunter, so long as his joints didn’t start paining him.
~.~
He did end up rolling around on the ground, his hands on his eyes and claiming that he’d go blind… I tested his hypothesis by trying to steal the food he was carrying. It didn’t work. Such a pity too, since Alastair had been carrying some bacon. Mm… bacon… before the houndoom could be distracted by fantasies of food, he brought his mind back to the current situation.
… could be other mining equipment, he pointed out. I don’t think they took any of the other equipment, actually… just the trailer and the black boxes. It certainly was puzzling. I bet they are trying to bring some fossils back to life, like you said. And maybe that stuff is in the black boxes. But why go through all the trouble of revitalizing new pokémon when there are plenty around here, just waiting to be stolen? Not a single one of us would have been able to do a thing, Con pointed out, remembering all too well the strange paralysis that had gripped him. His mind, at least, had been working a little, most likely because he was a dark type.
And what would happen if they were all shot with those things again? If that happened… well, Con would be there to defend Ryou.

By the time she could even come up with a decision he was probably long gone and she resisted the urge to cry. Sullen, she turned to head back into camp to find some one, any one, she could talk to. But that was easier said then done by this point. Plopping to a sit, she pulled out the mew plush she had bought from Luna and hugged it.

Fin sighed. "All right, fine, we'll tie them up, but just enough so they can't escape. Just tie that rope" – she gestured to the rope that the scientists had been tied up with before – "around a wrist or an ankle or something on each of them and tether them to a tree. You do that, and I'll go back to the wagons and find a tent and a few blankets. Come on, Caddie." She lifted the Delibird, dozing between her feet, into her arms and hiked back toward the wagons.

Having returned to camp, Lamen couldn't help but notice a girl return to the wagons as well looking sad. As she pulled out the mew plush, she knew it was Aimi. Why did she seem so dejected? The trainer walked towards her, followed by her Gastly. "Hey." Lamen said as she was finally close enough to talk to her. "Is that seat available?" She asked, gesturing to the rock besides the brown-haired girl- without the intention of butting into anyone's business unwanted. If she was invited to talk or to listen, she would gladly do so for her friend.

Hearing a familiar voice, Aimi looked up to find Lamen standing beside her and she nodded. The seat was open and it wasn't like she could stop the other female from sitting down. "Go ahead," she replied with a soft voice, biting her lip afterwords.
