Natsumi was just roaming the village in search of something to do. She was not assigned to any missions and there was nowhere she had to be, so things were a bit dull. So she kept walking the street taking in the sites, although she saw then many, many times before. Nothing new. As she continued her stroll she heard a young boy's voice coming up from behind.

"Natsumi-san!" Batsu continued chasing after the woman as fast as he could so he could catch up.

Natsumi stopped dead in her tracks and glanced over her shoulder before turning her entire body towards Batsu. The female didn't recognize Batsu right off, but as he came closer to her, his face rang a bell. It was one of the kids she instructed in the Academy for a while. "Hey, slow down kid. You have my attention, so I'm not going anywhere."

Batsu did just that and he slow down, and eventually came to a halt when he ccame close to her. "I have a question, would you mind helping me train for a bit?"

FINALLY, there was something for her to do. Of course, she wondered why the boy didn't ask Taka-san about helping. "Well, sure kid, I don't mind, but why ask me?"

"Well, Taka-sensei is really busy with the other students... and I was on my way to see my family. But when I saw you, I decided to put my visit on hold so you can help me."

Natsumi picked up how bad this boy wanted to pass the academy, so she wanted to help him out even more. "Ah... okay, so shall we resume from the rope training?"

Batsu turned his back to Natsumi and placed his hands behind him so she could tie his hands together.

Natsumi reached in her bag and pulled out a long strand of rope. "No chakra using since this is the only piece of rope I have, okay? Natsumi tied the boy's hands up and stood back.

(6) As soon as Batsu's hands were bound, he started struggling to break himself free. It was clear to him that Natsumi tied him real tight and that this go round was not gonna be as easy as it was back when he did this in the academy. Batsu struggled... and struggled... and struggled, but he could not escape the rope.This was not a walk in the park... at all. Natsumi was seriously gonna work this boy down to the bone. (-1 CP)

(7) Batsu continued to wiggle his body in order to free himself from the damn rope. But it seemed like the more he squirmed the tighter the rope become and the harder it was to get himself out. Batsu was growing a bit annoyed, especially since he could hear cackling coming from behind him as well as from the passers-by on the streets.

(8 )"This isn't funny Natsumi-san! Why are you laughing?! Why is everyone laughing?!" By now Batsu was getting upset at being teased again, especially since now he was in public and everyone could see him dancing around like a fool. Batsu wanted so badly to get out of the rope just so he could cuss out everyone that decided to watch him. (-1 CP)

(7) "Aw, come on weakling. It's just a piece of rope, how bad could it be?" Natumi had a small smirk on her face as she egged Batsu on.
Now Batsu grew angry and he went into overdrive and he started ravishing throught the rope recklessly trying to break free from the rope. "I'll show you weak. HOW'S THIS for weak?!" Batsu felt what he thought was a give in the rope and went to exploit it, only to find himself still trying to break free.(-1 CP)

Natusmi and the ever-growing crowd started to laugh again. (-1 CP)

(12) By now Batsu grew irate. "Natsumi-san, why did you make me do the training in front of everyone so people could be nosy instead of minding their OWN BUSINESS AND TENDING TO IT?!?!" Batsu started out wit a small, irritated voice but then turned into a full scream as he continued to move around in the rope. To his surprise though, in the midst of his rant, Batsu lucked up and found a give in the rope. The rope then fell to the ground and he stomped his foot. "FINALLY, GEEZ!" (-1 CP)

(REST) Natsumi detected how much Batsu hated being a public spectacle, so she thoought it best to relocate herself and Batsu so that neither of them would be in the public eye. "Hey kid, come with me so we can be out of the way and you won't be seen."

Batsu was more than happy to hear that and he grabbed the rope from the ground and went to where Natsumi-san led him. Anywhere was better than where he was so others could see him at his worst. (+2 CP)

(10) Natsumi led Batsu to a vacant area away from the main streets so that they could continue training. Batsu followed shortly behind his interim instructor and tossed the rope to her. His face showed utter humiliation from being teased earlier and Natsumi keened in on it before Batsu turned his back to her so he could be tied up again.

"Hey kid, sorry about earlier. I didn't think that you'd take it so rough." Natumi then tied Batsu again and watched as he broke through the rope easily... although he never responded to her apology.

(5) Natsumi didn't get anything back from the boy, so she figured that hejust wanted t train from that point on. So she said nothing else to him. Instead, she picked the rope up from the ground and tied Batsu up again.

Batsu felt the need to explain himself and apologize for being such a jerk to Natsumi and the crowd. "For starters, my name is Batsu, not kid. Secondly, it's okay and I also apologize for being rude to you. I know you were picking on me as a way to motivate me, but I get picked on a lot by some of the other students in the academy. I guess it kinda set me off and I lashed out." Batsu was so into his explanation that he forgot about the training.

(24) Natsumi reached down and tugged at the rope that was holding Batsu so he could remember to train again. "Well Batsu, are they Hoshigaki by any chance? I've had a couple of encounters with them and they weren't the most pleasent."

Batsu felt the tug and went back to the task thaat was at hand. The boy wiggled something fierce and the rope that was once on him fell to the ground and he was freed again. "Yeah, they are, and they sad thing is that Taka-sensei said that it was a great possibility that I'd have two of them in my squad. It friggin SUCKS!" (-1 CP)

(5) "Ouch. Poor you" Natsumi said as she bent down and picked the rope up again "Well, there are a couple of things you should remember about them. If at any time you become involved in a fight that's underwater, you have an uphill climb. As their appearance would suggest, they have many attributes related to a shark, so be mindful of that. Also, your best offense against them is genjutsu. The Hoshigaki aren't the brightest of people, so if you are well-versed in mind techniques, you have the upper hand."
Batsu took in the advice given by Natsumi-san and... forgot about his training yet again.

(6) Natsumi kinda saw that that was an error or her part, she didn't tie Batsu to the tree properly and it made the boy escape way too easily. She made sure that it wouldn't happen again. This time she made Batsu hold the rope again and she repeated what she did earlier. Only this time, she grabbed the end from Batsu and made a nice, sturdy knot. The boy wasn't gonna make itout so easy this go.

Batsu started to squirm like crazy to get out from his situation but found it exponentially tougher since he had no kind of give to work with whatsoever.

(24) Batsu continued to struggle over and over again but found working his way through to be ridiculously difficult. He didn't give up though, and the more he persevered, the looser the rope became. So the boy kept squirming until he crouched down bit by bit and made hie way under the rope. Batsu finally collapsed on the ground from exhaustion.

(REST) Batsu FINALLY completed the Nawanuke jutsu and was relieved to know that he was now only one jutsu away from graduating. At least he could rest for a bit before going back to training... or so he though.

Natsumi was not about to let Batsu get off so easy..She knew the boy was tired from exerting so much energy. But in her mind, she was gonna push this boy to the limit. Becoming a ninja was not a walk in the park, so she was gonna train him like it was one. "Alright Batsu, enjoy your break... because we're gonna work on Kawarimi next."

Batsu knew that he had more work to go, but for crying out loud, Natumi-san was trying to kill him. Sure, he was all for training, but there was a limit. He couldn't complain through. He requested this. Taka-sensei would have been more laxed though. Maybe training with Natsumi was a bad idea...

(20) A few minutes went by and Natsumi started pushing Batsu to get prepared for the toughest training he ever endured. Poor Batsu was not even close to full healed, but he prepared himself. Natsumi assumed that Batsu knew how to to Kawarimi, so she didn't waste any time. The girl started walking a safe distance and demanded, "If you don't do your best then you will die."

Batsu became intimidated, so he immediately ran for cover in a nearby bush. The boy found a nearby pile of logs and brought one close to him. He then started making hand signs slowly and quietly so he wouldn't be heard. Good thing about it all was he pulled off an excellent clone that went straight for Natsumi. (-4 CP)

(29) Batsu was pleased with himself for creating such a replica of himself. He went ahead and made another one. The boy grabbed another log and went to making a second almost-exact copy. The clone then went and stood next to the first one. This was proving to be too easy for Batsu, especially since he knew how skilled he was at controlling his own chakra. (-4 CP)

(REST) Even though Batsu knew how experienced he was in controlling his chakra, he knew that he couldn't kill himself by using up so much of it. Batsu decided he was gonna take a small nap to get his energy back up, because he was drained. If Natsumi-san would have just let him rest earlier then this situation wouldn't have happened. ((Batsu is now asleep)) (+2 CP)

(6 hours later, Batsu regains 21 CP)

(25) Batsu woke up to find himself in the same bush that he fell asleep in. Nothing bad happened, but as he looked out from under his hiding spot, he noticed that Natsumi-san had fallen asleep as well. The boy's playful nature kicked in and he decided to play a little joke on Natsumi. Batsu hurried and started firing out clone after clone before his target woke up. (-4 CP)

(26) Batsu kept sliding logs over to turn them into replacements while keeping a watchful eye towards Natsumi-san to make sure that she was still asleep. So far, so good. Natsumi was still knocked out while sitting against a tree. That didn't last long though, because after a small while she stirred and eventually woke up. (-4 CP)

(12) Batsu's plan to scare Natsumi-san was foiled now. So he lost a bit of motivation to keep going. This resulted in Batsu being a bit careless when he pulled in another log and tried to make another replacement. It didn't go so well and Batsu made something that looked nothing like him... at all.

By now, Natsumi had fully awakened and noticed two more replacements and a ... thing. Batsu made a clone that looked nothing like him and it made Natsumi laugh. (-4 CP)

(17) Batsu heard Natsumi laugh and it renewed his drive to do well. Even though he wanted to say something, he couldn't because he knew Natsumi would know where he was and attack him. That was something he didn't want, so he grabbed another log and used his chakra to make another copy of himself. (-4 CP)

(24) Batsu decided it was best for him to go and find himself a new hiding spot. Lying on the ground was proving to be a bit much, so the boy grabbed one more log and used his chakra to make another successful Kawarimi replacement. The boy then made sure to make a break for it while the clone went to attack Natsumi.

The clone came for Natsumi and she in turn grabbed a kunai and went to throw it. The kunai made a direct hit and the replacement turned back into a log, but with a kunai sticking out of it. But in the corners of her eye, she saw the leaves of Batsu's hiding place dancing about. She then realized that Batsu was now gone.(-4 CP)

(REST) Batsu was now in a safe place behind a tree and decided now was the perfect time to take another break. The boy assumed that Natsumi didn't know where he was, so he could get away with anything, just as long as he was quiet and not moving. The slightest sound would make Natsumi-san pinpoint his location and go on the offensive. (+2 CP)

(29) Batsu darted and fond himself a new resting place behind a tree. Oddly enough, the were another set of log. This must have been some kind of site where a lumberjack chopped down trees and forgot to pick up after himself, or something to that effect. Either way Batsu was grateful.Batsu picked up a log and molded his chakra to make another replica of himself. Only problem was that now, Batsu grew weak all over again. No wonder Natsumi said that this would the hardest training yet. The boy decided it was best to take another break. ((Batsu is now asleep))
((Batsu awakens the next day, +24 CP))

(22) The next morning, Batsu awakened and to his surprise, he was one the ground. He was once standing against the tree sleep but it was apparent that midway through his slumber, he fell face-down to the ground. To his surprise, Natsumi-san didn't hear him. "Jeez, that girl is deaf" he said to himself as he slowly reached over, grabbed a log, and made another replacement. After doing so, he made it go after Natsumi-san and he made a break for it... back under the bush. (-4 CP)

(22) Natsumi was surprised to come in contact with another replacement coming for her. Quickly, she grabbed another kunai out of her bag and chucked it at the attacker as fast as she could. The replacement then turned back into a log and fell to the ground.

Batsu took this opportunity to change shelters to where he was before. The boy slid back under the bush again and grabbed a log as he did so. He then took the log and went ahead with using his chakra to make another replacement. (-4 CP)

Natsumi grabbed one final kunai and knocked out the final replacement that Batsu made. She then looked at Batsu and congradulated him for finishing the last of his jutsus. "Good job, now all you have to do is pass the final test in the academy and you're set. But now I have to go and go hold up my end of the bargain, because I know you can do it. See ya." Natsumi left in a puff of smoke.

Batsu waved as Natsumi left and felt really good that she had enough faith in him to graduate. The boy then dropped his arm and decided to bypass visiting his family, which is what he intended to do in the first place. The boy made his way back to the academy to check in with Taka-sensei.

Raikane walks out panting and looks around. "I guess I should go to the Academy. . . But it's so far. Oh well I need to start my training anyways." Rai sighed and began to walk his way to the Academy. His eyes were in a trance as he mindlessly walked towards his objective. He smiled half-heartedly. Running a hand briskly through his hair and shook his hair out as he walked. On more then one occasion he almost ran into people. He was distracted but he had no idea why. He smirked and growled as he ran at full speed the last little few feet up to the Academy.
