Muscles trembling, Sumire tried to get back the proper form. The muscles in her upper arm screamed and gave out again when she tried to start another one. She blew her hair out of her face impatiently. She wanted to finish the exercise and go home to show Myobi what she'd done.

She finally managed to haul herself back to the proper position. The pushup was slow -- almost impossibly slow -- and her arms trembled the entire time. But Sumire still managed to pull one more out. She gasped for breath, willing her muscles to stay strong. Just a few more. Then she could quit. The sound of the water hitting the pool at the base of the waterfall promised a refreshing reward.

She lowered herself slowly. If she'd gone any faster at all, she probably would have collapsed. Realizing how exhausted she was from just a few pushups, Sumire made a vow to work out more. This was just ridiculous! She hesitated a bit at the bottom, every muscle in her body straining to lift her weight. But she did it. She gasped as she finally came to the top of the pushup. Just a couple more. Just a couple more and she would be done.

Rei was soaking his bones inside the hotsprings of Mizu falls. He was tired from his hunting. Their was an abundance of bears in the area and Rei just took care of some for fun. They didnt taste that bad either. Rei was the only Shinobi who was up for grabs by an Anbu cell, but Rei wasnt the talking type. He was a little of a twisted guy, but thats what made him intresting.

Sumire pushed her straining muscles to the brink. But they finally gave out on her. Weak with exhaustion, she decided to finish this training session when she felt a little better. A glance at the pool under the falling water sparked the tiniest bit of reserve energy. Maybe...just maybe. She slowly dragged her tired body over to the pool. She paused only long enough to strip herself to her underthings before plunging into the pool. She was still modestly dressed. Or at least enough to satisfy her mother, who would be wondering why her hair was wet but not her clothing.

Rei heard a splash and reached for a kunai. He had forgotten his kunai where at his home. He hadnt brung them today, because he wanted a challenge against the nature he was facing, but now would have been a good time to have them. Rei got out of the water and moved quietly over towards the sound to see what exactly it was that he heard. He hopped it was something fun like a enemy shinobi. As he moved he made sure it was as quiet as the wind as to not to spoke whoever it was that made the splash.

Sumire relaxed as she hit the cool waters of the pool. She was feeling much better already. She hummed happily to herself. Her training was going fairly well. She couldn't wait til Myobi got back from that tournament. Her younger cousin was entered in the genin bracket. Sumire thought she was no where near ready for a tournament and had elected to stay home. She could just imagine Myobi's face when she showed the other girl how hard she'd been training! She giggled to herself in anticipation.

Rei was disapointed when he saw it was just a little girl, he was really hoping for a good fight, but that seemed to be out of the question with this one. Rei wasnt a big talker but he was about as much of a perv as some of the old men in the bath house. Rei called out in a soft spoken tone for a man of such strength. Almost like a loud whisper. "You know for one so young you are quite brave to be out here alone." Rei spoke circling the spring still as quiet as before. He made sure to hide so she could not see him. He was bored and decided he would have a little fun.

Sumire jumped as much as her tired body would allow at the sound of the strange voice. The girl looked about her curiously, but couldn't find any sign of the speaker. "I'm not brave," she told him matter-of-factly. "I'm just training. My cousin and I come out here all the time." Sumire wondered who this person was. Obviously male, he sounded quite a bit older than her own tender years. She brightened. Maybe she could make a new friend! "I'm Itou Sumire," she chirped happily. "What's your name?"

The shadow figure emerged from the darkness partly to show his silver hair. "I am Rei Zengetsu the twisted ninja." He said slyly with the same voice. He was ussual very quiet but something came over him to speak to this girl. He had no clue why though. "You know there has been an increase of bears in this area dont you?" Rei said prentending to care.

Sumire gasped, her hands flying up to cover her mouth. "Bears? Really?!" She glanced around, a worried expression on her face. "I didn't know that!" She frowned, thinking for a moment. "How big are the bears? I really have to finish my training. Or else Myobi will really get ahead of me!" The girl looked around, almost angrily, in the woods. As if daring the bears to come and interrupt her while she was training.

Sumire huffed. She wasn't going to let a big bear scare her! As she climbed out of the water and dried off, she spoke to the man whom she hadn't caught more than a glimpse of. "If I see a bear, I'll run away really fast! They say that the big bears can't climb trees. And I'm pretty good at that!" she told him confidently. As soon as she was dry enough, she slipped back into her clothes. Dropping down to the ground with a slight sigh, she began her pushups again. The rest had done her some good, helping her get her rhythm back. She finished this pushup with no problem whatsoever. She hummed happily under her breath. "Only one more to go!"

Slightly afraid of the bears in the area, Sumire hurried through the next pushup. Because of her haste, she half-expected to fail miserably. To her surprise, this pushup was even easier than the last one! She jumped to her feet, truly excited that she had finished. Her eyes shone. "Yeah! I'm done! Myobi's gonna be so excited for me!" She clapped her hands excitedly, forgetting all about any bears that might or might not be in the area.

Sumire paused in her celebration to think. What did she want to do now? Myobi was still at the tournament. And her sensei had given them a nice break in between training sessions. She shrugged. She had just been telling herself that she wished she had trained more physically. Now was the time to hop to it! She wracked her brain in an effort to recall more of those silly exercises. Settling on doing squats, she spread her feet shoulder-width apart. She struggled to maintain the proper posture. That was the really hard part about squats. You had to keep your back straight the whole way down. Sumire went down really far the first time, heaving herself back up. She was still a little tired from the pushups, but these shouldn't be too bad.

Speaking too soon, Sumire collapsed on the return trip of the second squat. She rubbed her butt ruefully. She'd thought her thighs were stronger than that. She leapt to her feet, determined to try again. After all, they were only squats. How difficult could it be?
