Shadow marched out on his mission, eyes racing across the battlefield to spot both friend and foe. His heart was racing as he made his way to the first ally he spotted. He gave down the commands and the two continued off after more soldiers.
"Heads down!" Shadow shouted out to a small collective soldiers, a green sight danced around their location, trying to find a good target. Shadow and the tag along put their backs to a small rock formation near the group. "We got orders to group up for a synchronized strike." He called out to them.
"Under who's orders?"
"Shalg. So let's take care of that sniper and move on to our objective!" A shot rang out from a seperate location from the green sight, blasting through one of the necks of a soldier.
"There's more than one of them!?"
The group changed up positions to try and cover themselves from two snipers, but this was in vain as a shot was fired from a whole separate direction, luckily missing them.
"Wait! There's still only one."
"What are you talking about? Clearly we're getting shot at from several different points."
"But never at the same time. It's one guy operating 3 rifles. Two of which by remote."
"So then smarty pants, which is the real one."
"The one with the scope obviously!" The soldier stood right up to get a clear shot and fired off a volley towards the source of the scope, but was sniped down from another one of the sniper rifles.
"Damn it... We're down two... five altogether left..." He quickly peeked his head out from hiding to examine the area to get a look at one of the sniper locations. It was on a high up hill, a wind storm giving the area plenty of cover. "Hm... that would be ideal... and would explain why shots from there are less accurate... But then how would the other two sniper rifles be as spot on..."
Another shot speed across the field and grazed Shadows shoulder. "Over there! Fire now!" Shadow aimed for the rifle mount that had just fired, and along with the others eliminated the target.

Shlag's call for support was finally answered after a 15 minute wait. "This is Marine Unit Sigma Digamma Delta Beta Nu Five Digamma Iota Lambda Chapter. I need artillery support in three locations. Coords are as follow. Sector five, one-five-niner Epsilon three for effect. One Earth Shaker, danger close. Sector six, two-six-one Zeta, three for effect. One Earth Shaker, danger close. Shaker Sector eight four-five-niner Epsilon three for effect. One Earth Shaker, danger close." Her HUD map opened sowing the three designated zones of fire for confirmation. "Roger that. Fire when ready."
The now formed up assault forces we now readying and steeling themselves once more for combat. Each man could hear the whine of artillery. Three rounds smashed into the raised platform killing just about everything in the detonation zones. A fourth round pounded into the platform and penetrated the concrete. A second later a tremendous explosion dwarfing the three prior tore an access point into the platform at each of the assault zones. The battle could now be waged. Shlag would lead her 100 up the main ramp while the other 300 or so would use the access points the artillery had just made to gain access to the platform. She chose to lead her 100 up the most dangerous zone. Within the moment this battle would once again rage to life and if she could do anything about it, it wouldn't bog down again.

Shadow lead the troops that he was able to round up to their strike destination. Guns at the ready, the marched in from the far left flank, shooting down enemy troops on site. "Let's look alive! We've lost enough ground already, let's not let them take any more!" His specialist training was kicking in as he lead his squad through their target with relative ease: keeping his squad out of sight yet still allowing for clean shots.
'This isn't where I expected to end up when I was 'let go', but if I'm still doing some good, that's what matters...' It was this thought that still kept him going, this thought that allowed him to stay sane.

Xiaeriene had made her way through to maze-like ruins, and had finally, after many hours, surfaced in the upper city. The air was heavy with the radiation, and she herself was surprised that she was still alive. Perhaps it was her drive to see her friends again, or her will to live on and not fail her fathers, that had kept her alive this long. Her vision was swimming, but she pressed on, knowing what she had to do. She found the room she was looking for, and mustering up the little strenght she had left, thrust Icebolt into the small slot in the altar. She was in an open shrine-like structure, and she knew this was the correct place. She pulled herself up, standing steady on the staff, as it grew in girth just large enough to hold her two feet. She closed her eyes, which were encrusted in dried blood, as Icebolt lengthened, rising up above the ruins, high up into the sky. She focused, attempting to find her minds eye, but it was difficult; the process of receiving and then losing to chip in her head had made it impossible for her to access that which she had before. What am I....what is it I am suppose to do? How can I....what can I do without power? She felt faint, as the thin air paired up with the increased radiation was beating down on her. "I'm sorry papa, I have failed...." She keeled over and fell off, plummeting down toward the city. Various thoughts ran through her head, all she had done, all that had occured, and suddenly, she awoke from her stupor and grabbed Icebolt, halting her fall. What was lost can be found again, she realized, and she focused as she pulled herself slowly back up toward the top. Her energy was coming back to her, as she felt a tingling, and she focused her self, as her goal was in sight

The unit Shlag was embedded with let out a blood curdling battle cry as sixty of her soldiers charged the main ramp and it's demolished hard point defenses. The remaining forty men pummeled the enemy defensive line with their grenade launchers forcing the enemy to remain behind cover and to scatter keeping them from concentrating their fire on their on coming enemies. As one would pop up to fire Shlag cleanly remove the soldier's head with a bolter round. Her ragtag unit had reached the first line of the Auctoritanian defenses before they had actually received any stiff resistance. Just as the guardsmen took cover behind the rubble and short concrete wall parts of the wall exploded wounding several and killing others. The gunfire had switched to cannon fire as three defensive positions hailed auto-cannon fire down on their position. The 20mm anti-armor, explosive rounds had punched through the wall. The enemy had retreated to their final defense line and heavily fortified it. Artillery would be impossible to call in around the above ground reactors.
Shlag knew her armor and nanobots couldn't stop these weapons for long. But she couldn't allow the attack to bog down. She jumped over the wall and her implants immediately targeted the gunners on the auto-cannons. Several rounds stopped and were dismantled right in front of her as she closed the distanced. Others glanced off her armor as she ducked and weaved to avoid the fire. The second she got into range of her bolder pistol she felt the sharp burn and pain of a bullet wound just to the right of her heart and a second above that. A third in her right shoulder. A fourth cut through her prosthetic arm and a fifth into her organic thigh. She pressed through the pain and forced herself to take aim just as she fell to her knees. The implant doing the work as her vision blurred. She fired a round at each gunner taking them all down. She forced herself to stand and cried out as a stimpack filled with a frenzy inducing drug pumped into her jugular vein. Her nanobots had already began repairs on bother her body and prosthetic limb. Shlag drew he chain sword and with another battle cry charged into the midst of the remaining defenders followed by the remaining soldiers of all four units.
Each side nearly depleted of ammunition; the battle had shifted to a melee battle.

Shadow lead his troops around the left flank of the enemy lines, trying to approach the battle from a stealthy stand point like he was acustomed to. They were able to find a pile of debris big enough to hide under and think their plan through.
"Alright, we only have a few rounds left, so we have no choice but to try and win in a melee fight. Personally, I'm not too big on the idea; I'm more of a mech pilot than I am a real warrior, but I have faith in your training."
"Great, being led by a jack a** who can't handle a simple face-to-face struggle."
"Actually, I was thinking you take command. You know what you're doing far better than I am, and you obviously have more experience handling these enemies than I am."
There was a long pause between the men; it could have been because the enemy had finally spotted them, and were rushing towards them, or it could have been that this hot shot who showed up just to give orders was admitting his weakness, hell, it could have been both. Regardless the reason, no one spoke another word as the enemy closed the gap. Chains roared as Shadow and his team charged the opposing forces. Flesh and blood flew out into the sky, cries of agony echoed out from both sides. Two of Shadow's teammates fell to the ground, limbs torn about. The other side suffered worse, as the smaller team had a reason to fight, and thus a reason to win.
As the dust settled from this encounter, Shadow, his chosen commander, and another soldier were all that was left standing. "Well, what now?"
"Heh, it's your call. But, if you still want my advice, we can't do too much on our own. It'd be best to regroup with a main force."
"And so we will." Shadow motioned for the two to follow as they carefully made their way to Shlag's unit, confronting enemy soldiers as need be.

Puck found Satsujin amogst a few piles of corpses "I have some interesting news for you." He turned and surveyed all the bodies as he spoke "Apparently, Earthrealm is in a somewhat state of turmoil and disarray, as World War 3 began two months ago due to the destruction in Tokyo. However, it seems it is on the downscale. As of now, I do not have all the detail, but I do know that the President of the United States and both the Pope and the Prime Minister have been assasinated. As of now, many nations have resorted to covert ops, sending assassins, demons and all sorts of evils at each other. Japan is currently playing the Neutral, siding with no one, and thus far, only minor destruction has occurred in that country. Part of this seems to be due to the sudden disappearance of the entire planet's Nuclear products." He turned to her and grinned "Otherwise, all of our strongest enemies have been stuck in the dimensional void of the tournament for two months, so interferences in Earthrealm have been minimal. I have received orders to wrap this up and proceed to the new HQ, as I apparently have a new assignment. It was fun working with you."

The war was more or less over already, as the Hecatoncheires appeared on the battlefield. The old man inside was a native of this world, the Ursak known as Loki Novus. He turned on his channel and shouted into it "Yeehaw, it's about goddamn time this country was liberated! Am I too late to get in on the action?"

"Yea, a bit late." Shadow shook his head as he and the rest of his squad that survived were resting, their backs against a pile of assorted enemy bits. "Are we getting evac'd now, or is there some other force that we need to take care of?"

Shlag dropped to her knees as a second stimulant was injected to counteract the previous now that the confrontation was over. Her breathing was heavy and vision blurred. "Apothecary needed... Code O.E.V.S." She said over intercom. "Emergency beacon active." Her wounds had been healed, but the effects of the drugs were double edged swords.
If left unsupervised by a Chapter Apothecary the affected could die. If the battle raged too long while on the frenzy drug; Oestrus Everto, ones mind could be too far gone and the person would have to be euthanized. The other, Velox Somnus, a powerful tranquilizer used in an excessive amount to counter the effects of Oestrus Everto could leave the person passing into death as they passed into slumber. For several days following the day it was administered the person or persons would have to be looked after by one or more Chapter Apothecaries to make sure the amount in the body is at equilibrium or the patient could either die or go mad.
"Dropship incoming." Replied the Marine Evac Specialist. "This is Mu Gamma((Mission Command)). All unit commanders: next objective is to collect and tally our dead and wounded and wait for further emergency evac. Then form your troops up at the palace. Over. Imperial Guard Special Ops are to begin a sweep of the city and peace keeping patrols are to begin in 0100."

Xiaeriene reached the top of Icebolt, and dragged herself up onto it. She mustered up her strength, and stood up, outstretching her arms "Father.....Papa......grant me the strength to fulfill my purpose!" A storm was brewing overhead above her, as the radiation of the dead sea began to swirl and syphon into her. She felt hot, as if she was caught in a fiery abyss, but she kept focus, drawing it all into her, releasing it as purified energy into the icy stormclouds above her. She knew she would most likely die afterward, but she could not stop now; she risked engulfing this entire world in an icy glacier of death if she did not succeed

Nergal had managed to survive, though he now had a bloody hole where his right eye had been, he was missing his left ear, and his left arm had been blown off. After casting a healing spell to stop his bleeding, he had boarded the civilian transport and went to find Xiaeriene and the others. He spotted Shlag off in the distance as he got off the truck, and he ran to her "Shlag.....Shlag, are you alright?" He felt her aura fluctuating dangerously. She did not appear to be in need of a healing spell, but all the same something was wrong.

"I should be the one asking you that... We can fix all of that you know. Heh." She scrambled to take her helmet off just as the dropship landed. A large and imposing Space Marine clad in white armor stepped off the ship and quickly made it to Shlag. This could be bad... He trailed off after examining her for a moment. "Her nano machines are adversely effecting the administered doses. We need to get her to the command ship." He quickly signaled to the ship and several Apothecary Neophytes emerged carrying a stretcher. They placed Shlag on it. The Apothecary looked at Nergal for a second. "Come. Your wounds need cleaning or they will come to rot." The Apothecary walked toward the ship at the pace of the Neophytes.

Loki smacked Nergal on the butt "Better listen to them, son, how are you going to make a good man for her if you are dead?" He rose his voice as Nergal headed onto the ship "And where is my granddaughter!? I know she was with you people!" He grunted irritably, then returned to his current duties

Joss sat amidst the pack of injured Blood Claws. They in turn sat amidst an even larger group of fallen enemies. Their drop pod was a crumbled heap. If it weren't for the legendary skill of the Space Wolves chapter, it would have been a surprise they made it out alive. Joss was proud at this moment. Proud that the squad had made it through with no losses, that they killed a hundred foes each, but mostly that Ulrik's faith had not been misplaced. "Omega lead, Come in." Joss used the neural connection in the helmet to activate the comm. "Omega lead here, I read you HQ" "HAHAHA! Glad you made it! How many chaff?" Joss brought up the heart beat sensor onto the HUD. All members of Omega Company were alive, though some just barely. "Omega reads no losses, repeat, no honored dead to offer up this day." "Good work Omega," that message must have peen set to broadcomm, for the unit all gave hearty cheers. "Joss, here are your orders: Place Jaybaldash in charge. You are being promoted. We will celebrate later. For now, head to the drop ship a click to the west. You need to report for us." "Aye-aye Lukas" Joss looked over to the dark skinned man. He was large, even for a Space Wolf. He sat on top of his thunder hammer and gave his CO a stupid grin. "You heard him dummy. Get this lot ready to move within the hour. They can get drunk on the ride home." This remark from the filtered voice box on Joss' mask brought much groaning that went ignored. "Just to be sure though, we can get drunk on the ship?" With a shake of the head that suggested exacerbation, Joss stood up to the full height of almost 7 feet. The power armor was for the most part the typical light blue of the Space Wolves, with the exception of the red trimming. The Omega Company chapter insignia was clearly visible on the right shoulder piece. It had a black background, with a red omega on a yellow wolf's head. Grabbing the 6 foot frost blade, Joss set out for the given destination, arriving in a short time. Joss gave a short salute to the marine in white armor.
